Incredible location with breathtaking views from everywhere!!

Absolutely THE best possible location in the center of Bologna’s old town, surrounded by amazing restaurants, shops, cafes, and historic sites! The view from the two terraces are spectacular! The roof terrace is absolutely stunning and very romantic at night. The bed is very comfortable and the kitchen, while small, is very adequate. Besides, there are far too many great places to eat in the neighborhood to bother with cooking. However, the option is there for those that wish to buy fresh produce and pasta and have a romantic dinner at home. There is a small Nespresso machine, but be careful to buy the correct pods! There are 3 sizes, this is the middle size. Please note that the elevator is very small. only 2 people can fit - without much luggage. There are also a lot of stairs to climb after getting off the elevator and to access the roof deck. There are also stairs within the apartment. So this is not meant for anyone with difficulty walking or using stairs. I found it a great way to get added exercise into my day. The bathroom is a bit small and is lacking an outlet for the hair dryer, you need to plug it into the kitchen outlet. The bathroom outlet is only for low voltage items. The washing machine is small. A new washing machine is arriving soon, but you will still need to hang dry your clothes. We found the towel warmer works well for drying clothes. There isn’t a sofa in the unit, so you must relax on the bed. I think a small 2 person loveseat in the kitchen area below the wine chiller would make a nice addition. Overall a wonderful experience and highly recommended if you want to be in the center of everything!

Wonderful unique apartment with incredible views and perfect location

We loved Altana Bologna. Its rooftop location - the spiral staircase access - makes it unique and beautiful. It’s modern, comfortable, well-equipped and the location in the centre of old Bologna is incredible. Finally, the hosts are responsive, kind and gracious. We plan on returning again next year and highly recommend.

Più in centro non si può

La posizione è eccezionale tre minuti a piedi e sei a Piazza Maggiore sotto al palazzo c’è una salumeria anzi una boutique di salumi tipici bolognesi tanti ristoranti. Un punto extra lo acquista il balconcino all’interno dell’appartamento da dove si vede la torre dell’orologio tutta la via e dei ristoranti la movida non ho trovato scomoda neanche la scala a@perché veramente Piccola se non si hanno dei bagagli e enormi si sale tranquillamente

La pulizia e la manutenzione dell’appartamento lasciano un po’ desiderare e un appartamento davvero carino con tutti i comfort all’interno abbiamo trovato un po’ di tutto comprese le cialde per la macchina del caffè ma sia la manutenzione di alcune cose tipo il bidet sia la pulizia in generale anche delle pentoledelle posate lascia un po’ desiderare

Great location, comfortable apartment with amazing views

We loved this apartment. Great location right in the centre of the old town with everything on your doorstep. Especially one of the best bars/delis by the front door. Apartment was comfortable, with very good aircon and cooking utensils etc. The two terraces are the star of the show with incredible views and a lovely place to sit and relax or sunbathe on the roof.

We had a few issues checking in and communication could have been better. We had to wait for quite a long time, however, the host did make up for this on check out with allowing us extra time to stay in the apartment. If you have lots of big bags the stairs might be tricky but we managed it & 100% worth it for the views.

Gerne wieder 😍

Die atemberaubenden Terrassen. Man/frau ist mitten im Geschehen in einer sehr lebendigen Stadt mit vielen Studenten. Super zentral.

Es könnte im Sommer laut werden. Es ist sehr zentral gelegen.

360 degree views of Bologna from your own roof terrace.

The terrace!! 360 degree views of Bologna was simply beautiful!! Wonderful central location with food markets underneath. Would absolutely recommend and stay again.

Superb location and exceptional stay. Highly recommend.

The location was perfect and the views from the terrace were spectacular. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet given its central location. There's a lift in the building that takes you to the 4th floor, then you need to walk up a flight of stairs to the apartment door, and then finally a small circular staircase to the roof top apartment. We had a medium-size suitcase and a carry-on suitcase and found it very manageable getting to the apartment. If ever in Bologna again, we would stay here another time.

We used the very small washing machine but the rinse & spin cycle didn't seem to work properly. We ended up rewashing our clothes at our next stay in Siena.

Great apartment in the middle of it all!

Unfortunately, we had a delayed arrival until the 2nd day, but were still warmly greeted in the midst of a crowded festival day. It was a very busy day for the host, but we were welcomed and given a detailed overview of the apartment and the surrounding areas and attractions. The location of this apartment could not be any better. We look forward to returning to Bologna and will definitely plan to stay at this apartment! The rooftop terrace and its view are PHENOMENAL!!!

This is not a bad thing, and we actually enjoyed this charming feature, but there is one spiral staircase to the apartment from the elevator, and another to reach the rooftop terrace. Those with large pieces of luggage (or bad knees) may not have the same appreciation we did.

Lovely oasis... I didn't want to leave, the view is even better than the food in Bologna.

The location and space are lovely. Its a castle like adorable bologna dream.

The stairs are hard, but the greeter so helpful with the luggage in arriving and leaving. Mostly very clean, but there is rust on the sun bed pillows which stained my beach wrap towel, my sun hat and my bikini... I recommend not touching them.

Amazing apartment, perfect location, will be back!

The location and terraces (2!!) were amazing, could not get better. Staff were really good to deal with and apartment was really nice for a couple. We loved our stay here. fyi as other reviews have said, there are a lot of stairs inside and outside the apartment. If you have mobility issues maybe consider staying somewhere else.

Loved Bologna and hope to return and stay at the apartment Altana Bologna.

The spacious terrace and the view .. fantastic! Wonderful comfy bed, super shower, and everything you could need for a short stay. The location was great.

Caution for anybody with mobility issues .. the apartment is on the 6th floor. There is a lift to the 4th floor .. followed by a flight of stairs and finally a spiral staircase. Within the apartment there are also several steps.

everything! location and roof top terraces were amazing. very clean. facilities were very good. staff welcome was very informative and friendly.

one of the plug sockets didn’t work properly and hot water ran out quite quick, but this was not a big problem.

Perfect location, fabulous apartment!

The apartment was clean and quiet, very tastefully decorated, and had everything we needed. The host Stefan was very helpful with suggestions for things to see, and his recommendations for places to eat were fabulous. But the absolute best part was the not one, but TWO terraces, both with incredible views of the city!! Highly recommended!
