The hotel was very modern and clean and very comfortable. We went by privately owned tuk tuk and parking was available. The bathroom was big with a separate shower and the airconditioning was adequate for the room. The pool was clean and well maintained.
Perhaps due to the economy, the hotel's restaurant had been closed down and therefore breakfast was not available in the morning. Additionally, the facility to pay by card is no longer available, so we had to go into town to withdraw cash.

The receptionist was really kind
The location, a bit alone in a not really good beach. No many options for restaurants.

I ha planed to stay 2 days but ended up staying for 6! Great hotel, very comfortable, clean and good size room with amazing view of ocean with a sea view room. You can even see sunrise from there. Bathroom was nice with hot water, ac, fridge and kettle. Location is in the middle of Tangalle, it's a 1 hour walk to Tangalle beech or a 7 min tuk tuk drive but Goyambokka Beach is walking distance 15 mins and is beautiful and much better than Tangalle Beach. Bus stop is out side the hotel where you can travel to Hiriketiya beach, 20 mins on bus and then walk to Dikwella beach. Hotel is walking distance to the main town and bus station aprox 35mins with many ATMs and supermarkets. There is no restaurant open as of yet but you can have breakfast at another hotel for $4 and have lunch/ dinner at red beach cafe opposite the hotel. Staff are nice and friendly. Great choice if you want luxury at a decent price
Everything was nice but no food options.

The only thing I like was staff. The guys at hotel really amazing and made their best for us.
Several disappointing things:
1. Hotel is near the red beach, but in the middle of nowhere in the same time. Almost all infrastructure in the Tangalle town. Even difficult to find where to eat.
2. Red beach has no infrastructure, only 2 ruined umbrellas, 4 sunbeds and dogs.
3. There was a problem with the sewer. Half the time we smelled urine. Also we can hear all our neighbors through the bathroom.
4. The hotel was tired. The air conditioner rumbled like a train so we had to sleep without it.

Property was clean and convenient.
Hard to rate hotel since there is an economic crisis. No restaurant running so that was a problem for me in the morning.

September 2022. Sole Luna was brilliant for me as a writer and digital nomad. Comfortable, modern spacious rooms and decor. Light and airy. Few guests at that time, but I can imagine anyone staying will get full attention for the staff, as I did. Pool was clean, deep enough and handy.
All good for me.

The staff was very helpful, they arranged tours and transport for us. The internet was fast.
The hotel restaurant does not work well. We only ordered dinner once, we waited a long time and the dishes were not very tasty. Luckily there was an excellent restaurant opposite the hotel

very nice staff. various breakfast. we received a free upgrade of the room. close to the beach and a lot of restaurants around. the hotel staff organized some trips for us(e.g.: Yala Park + Ella tour).
Wi-Fi speed to be improved (needed to upload photo, video etc).
POS not working on that time, it is recommended to have cash.

They helped us with renting a scooter.
Breakfast was really basic and not as good as you would expect for a 4 star hotel.
They didn't run generators when power went out.

Friendly enough staff but that’s about it.
The building is really worn and run down. Photos are not accurate. The lock on our balcony door was broken and the doors wouldn’t lock. something that we commented on straight away. A few days later we became aware that the night before we arrived it had been a break in in the 3 rooms below us, through the balcony doors at night when guests where asleep. Turned out none of the locks for the balcony doors worked.
Staff should have made other guests aware and taken measures to minimize the risk for it to happen again. There is no safe in the rooms.
Breakfast wasn’t very good, it would be good to ask what the guest wants rather then serving a lot of food that will go to waste.

I’ll start by saying the staff were absolutely brilliant. Was made to feel so welcome as soon as we arrived, and they were always so friendly and talkative it was great. I didn’t catch any names, but they were all fantastic. The hotel is lovely, room very spacious and really nice, the pool was nice too. the food is great.

The location is perfect, it has an easy access to all the beaches and the town.
The team is super kind and friendly with very welcoming attitude.
We took the sea view room which is also facing to the main road too. We stayed for nine nights, we didn’t get annoyed or disturbed with any sounds, as some comments mentioned it as an issue while we were checking the previous reviews before our stay.
We will definitely miss this place and definitely would love to stay again.
Highly Recommended.

It was fantastic few days! Sole Luna is small, great located hotel with amazing staff and great views. Not the new one, but for sure of the best in that area. People there are incredible! They can arrange everything, they arrange for us safari in Udawalawe. Very tasty breakfast with fresh fruits. Great atmosphere is there thanks to reception and waiter who every morning served us breakfast.
