Beautiful location next to the Caldera River. Cottage is in the forest.

This place was amazing. We walked along the river every day. Easy drive to boquete! So beautiful. A great place to relax and have a little adventure!

Once in a lifetime experience. Stayed in the Treehouse next to river. Nature trails and grounds were beautiful. Pool area very relaxing and enjoyable.
The combination of the noise of the river and rain and damp feeling of the sheets, kept us awake. Otherwise a great experience. Would stay in a cottage next time.

This place is like an oasis. The accommodation is all situated in a narrow valley with a small river and riverine forest. The owner (Frank) has restored much of the vegetation and also has a wonderful garden area near the pool. Everything is very tastefully done and is well integrated into the landscape. It is quiet and full of birds, a great place for birding. The pool was super-clean and was surrounded by some interesting sculptures.
We stayed in the tree-house which was fun and quite isolated from the rest of the bungalows...which we loved. It had an excellent kitchen, but be sure to bring your own food as it is self catering (coffee was supplied). The tree house is a bit like luxury camping, so don't go for it unless you like that sort of thing. Frank was very friendly and had an interesting art collection.
The place is a bit far from anywhere. I would say you need to have a car. This did not impact us.

We stayed in the treehouse. WOW! What an experience. Private, well lit at night if required but keep lights off until you are ready for bed. Crawl in under the big net and drift off to the sound of the river running across the rocks. Gardens are lush and beautiful. Suspended bridges make for interesting walking trails. Beautiful pool. Cabins are well spaced out for privacy as well and have air conditioning. Nice breeze in the treehouse though so we were not hot at night. Owner Frank greets guests personally and shares his love of ancient art and the Caldera area.
The fridge at the treehouse is bar size so it was too small. There is only one restaurant in the area so we prepared meals. Freezer in mini fridge didn’t work well. Other than the small fridge, you have everything you need at the treehouse to cook and dine by the river.

Amazing place, pictures doesn't do the venue justice. Remote place but beautiful. I wished I could have stayed for a couple more days

The place is very quiet, the cottage 1 is big. Very comfortable and pleasant to share with the family.
Opportunity for improvement: air conditioning for all rooms and children's pool area.

Privacy and the unique setting with the tree house and river
hard to say, maybe it’s a bit far to the entrance :)

I stayed at 6 different places while in Bocas Del Toro and Boquete, Panama. This place was my favorite. The setting, ambiance, privacy and Cottage were all wonderful. As well as the Host and the people working for him. Great Job on creating an Experience for us all to Enjoy! Cheers!

Absolutely beautiful place. We loved our stay and Jose was very helpful and accessible. We arrived quite late our first day and he was able to help order food for us.
It feels like a tropical paradise staying at Cabanas. Wish we could've stayed longer.
The only thing I can mention is that when we booked the place on booking.com it said that cottage 1 where we stayed had 2 rooms each with 2 double beds. This was however not the case but it was 1 room with 1 double bed and 1 room with 2 double beds. This was however easily sorted by Jose who prepared the bedsofa in the living room. But would be good to correct this on booking.

Cottage 3 was spectacular! Right next to the river, secluded and just a small walk away from the pool and bar. Also, having the best Piña Coladas ever did stepped it up A LOT!
Took a little bit to check in when we arrived and would have loved to have drinks when we got there.

This has been the best accomodation I have ever stayed at. It is literally in the jungle, the cottages are separated from each other, a short path leads to each. It is impossible to be closer to nature. We took the treehouse, if you love nature, that’s the option for you. It has an own river that you can illuminate from the treehouse! But be prepared - you are in the jungle, there are animals around. If it bothers you, just choose a normal cottage, they are all beautiful and spacious. The staff couldn’t be better. The owner took us on various trips in the jungle and showed us his collection of art. There is a small pre-columbian museum as well. The pool area, and the rest of the main areas are beautifully decorated with art, exotic plants and lights. It’s out of this world!
It says that there is no meal option but you can actually order food from a place nearby.
We loved everything. We stayed in the treehouse during wet season, so there were heavy rains all the time, and some water leaked in in the middle where the house is attached to the tree. But it didn’t wet the bed or any of our stuff. We didn’t care, but if you are not comfortable with this, just choose a normal cottage.

We enjoyed a beautiful view by the lake and waterfall, the pool was also lovely. The cabin was perfect for our little family of 3. We were celebrating our son's birthday and wanted a place near Boquete. We also love cooking our own meals so the kitchen was great for us. We really loved it there and would gladly return.
There were a few power outages during our stay and the wifi was slow. But we are accustomed to power outages in Panama so it didn't surprise us nor derail our plans. The stoves are gas and they provide emergency lamps so you can still cook and have some light. Plus we spent most of the time outside which is the reason we came.

Staying in the treehouse was such an amazing experience. The river below made sleeping easy and the property was in top notch shape.
We can’t complain about anything regarding our stay.

We stayed in the treehouse and it was beautiful. Fantastic location very safe and private. Many trails to adventure out on. There was also a beautiful pool and bar area. Owner was fantastic and very knowledgeable of the area. Can’t wait to go back!
Didn’t realize there was no shampoo or conditioner provided at the treehouse (May provide in cabins, but not sure). But they were very accommodating and brought me some:) a very minor detail!

Gorgeous surroundings, you can take a short walk alongside the river and through the jungle, the pool is large and staff is friendly. We stayed at the Tree House which has all amenities you could wish for with a large outdoor kitchen and various seating areas. You can swim in the river right in front and the view is amazing.

This was my first time to Panama and the Boquete area, so I was concerned the treehouse would be quite chilly at night (because I was not sure how close to the mountains it was). Luckily, it is located more in the hills leading up to Boquete, so the weather was wonderfully warm and hot enough to swim in the river that the treehouse overlooks. The treehouse is at the end of a road in the property, so it was very private. There is no restaurant on site, but each room has a kitchen and there are plenty of restaurants in Boquete. Additionally, the owner takes great pride in the property and seems to be continuously improving it. Tip: Take a walk around the grounds -- you will be amazed at the love and care the owner puts into the resort. One night in the treehouse is perfect (because bugs are abundant at night), but I would have loved to stay at the resort and perhaps in a cabin for a few more nights.
The bugs at night that are attracted to light are part of the appeal, staying in a treehouse that is open to the elements and all. Thankfully the bug netting around the bed (which was essential) had no holes so we were able to sleep peacefully to the sound of the river gurgling over the rocks nearby.

Everything.
Rio Encantado truly is our favourite place in all of Panama. It's as close to paradise as you'll ever get. The grounds are unbelievable, the cabins first class, the pool is beautiful and the river is beyond description. This is our 4th stay in the last 2 years. Frank and Jose are amazing hosts.
