Great location, substantial breakfast portions, friendly staff.
Definitely faded glory but that has its charm and was excellent value for money.

food was nice. room was big although tired looking
the bathroom sparkled very clean. no one coming in to make beds or change towels.
food and drink good
the room look tired could do with coat of paint

Needs some modernisation and rooms were cold.

Clean, good breakfast
Pillows a bit thin and bathroom needed painted
4.0
Good location for town.
On arrival, the receptionist tried to charge me extra. We found that same staff member to be quite abrupt throughout the stay.
The room itself was clean but badly needed updating and upgrading. Mattresses and pillows were not comfy and very old.
The breakfast room was not clean! Both days we had breakfast, we struggled to find a table that had been wiped from the night before!!!
Overall, I did not feel this was good value for money or a good experience.
5.0
The breakfast was very good, and pleasantly served.
The room was very cold and damp. The TV didn't work, and the bathroom sink taps were not up to standard.
5.0
The food was decent and the staff were very welcoming.
The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable, but very over priced for what it was. The ceiling paper and cobwebs were hanging from the ceiling in the bathroom and above the bed. The floor in the bathroom There was loud music playing til late. We asked for a quiet room as we have an anxious dog... We were put in a room directly above the main entrance and speakers.
I phoned prior to booking I asked if they were dog friendly and did not mention an additional charge for our dog.

Room was really cold and drab. I was there with my 4 year old and it wasn’t inviting at all.
3.0
we booked because the location was perfect and the food was recommended
The bar area was nicely decorated
the breakfast was lovely but they failed to provide hot water for a decent cup of tea
on arrival we wanted a meal but we’re told the kitchen was closed and they weren’t doing meals at all
the room was shabby with stains running down the wallpaper
the bed was poor and the mattress provided no support at all
there was no hot water in the evening or in the morning
my husband had driven 150 miles straight from work on the Friday and was unable to have a proper shower and shave

there was damp wall paper peeling off stunk of nicotine no hot water in shower

It was comfortable and warm
No hot water from the shower at all. Paint fumes. Terrible customer service at breakfast
4.0
Breakfast was good freshly prepared staff where pleasant and helpful the room we stayed in was very big and had one double bed and 1 single in the larger part of the room and a single bed in the connecting smaller room
The whole hotel is in a state of disrepair, peeling wallpaper and damaged walls throughout the hallways, dirty stained carpets in the room we stayed in, the bathroom had stained cracked tiles rusty shower curtain rail and no hot running water from the tap in the sink or the bath, we have a 8 year old and a 6 month old that are both fearful of showers, we contacted reception who tried to reset the boiler with no joy, they did offer us a key for a room with hot water but this was 2 hours after we made them aware of the issue and we ended up having to make a small bath using the shower which took about a hour as it was getting late and our eldest had to go bed due to her having a gymnastics competition the following morning, we wasn't the only room that had hot water issues as another couple was at reception when we made our first complaint unfortunately for them they couldn't use the shower as the pull cord was broken, outside our room in the hallway there was old furniture and a old mattress leaning up against the wall there was no light switch to illuminate the lights in the stairwell when going down which is quite dangerous as the only light is a emergency one at the bottom and the stairs are in a l shape so only the first bottom set are slightly lit and the carpet is dark so Impossible to make out the steps by eye there is a switch at the bottom to light the stairs when going up but nothing when coming down, the parking at the back had lots of spaces but were all taken when we arrived but there is a pay and display car park exactly opposite luckily for us the spaces right outside are free Saturday evening and Sunday
