We’ve just returned from Blue Palace Elounda and would definitely recommend.
As a family of 4 with two young children (1 + 3), finding a hotel that is luxurious for the adults, but a child friendly environment isn’t always the easiest. The staff were very attentive and brilliant with the kids which makes a big difference! To name a few - Niki, Vaso, Maria and Joanna (who run the restaurants) and Maria (who runs the kids club). We visited Maria on two of the days with the little ones and they loved her - she's super warm and loving to the children and they just loved having the play area and toys around!
Location was great - the small village Plaka was walkable for local restaurants and the restaurants onsite at hotel served great food.
Hotel is nicely decorated, it’s just the bathrooms in the rooms that could do with a bit of modernising, but I heard that that’s in the plan soon.
Overall, great hotel. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable!
The only negative I would say is we didn’t end up dining at The Blue Door, which we’d heard was the best restaurant at the hotel. You have to book restaurants in advance - we’d done so and booked The Blue Door 2 nights in a row but our reservation was cancelled due to bad weather on each of those nights. On our final night we went to book but were offered times that wouldn’t work for the children so had to decline. My only comment would be in situations such as this, the concierge should prioritise customers that have been cancelled on and given opportunity to book before taking others bookings.

The location. The beach. The rooms. The bar
Rooms were far from the beach. The reception didn't
do the maximum for us.

The location is perfect with its private beach. Also you get to see Spinalonga island which is a beautiful, small island and it’s a 5 minute boat ride. The staff is extremely friendly and fast at attending to your needs. Overall the service of the staff is 5 stars!
Before booking, remember this is a 20 year resort so everything is pretty much outdated. We didn’t read this when booking…The sofas in the rooms and halls along with furniture are outdated which makes the hotel not feel like it should be priced at 675 euro minimum a night for a room. Also, the room had a lot of ants and the toilet wasn’t flushing properly but we didn’t say anything to the staff as they were always so kind. So we let it slide…Last thing, food and drinks are overpriced for the hotel being so outdated. I think if they revamp the hotel with new fixtures, this place will be great to stay at. But if you are staying for your honeymoon or another special occasion, please read before booking.

The location was excellent being opposite Spinalonga. The hotels beach was great, sun beds were comfortable and swimming/snorkelling off the pontoon was great. The pool near reception was lovely to swim in and generally quiet. Breakfast was good, lots to choose from.
The Ibiza style pool party that took place one afternoon. Music was too loud and could be heard if you were on the beach, not relaxing at all.
We had a room with a pool, which was meant to be a swim up pool but it wasn’t, you had to go down steps to access it and when you were in it your view was a fence. This was not what I saw photos of on booking.com. The pictures were a swim up pool overlooking Spinalonga which could be seen whilst you were in the swim up pool.
Our room was also very close to the main road, so when you sat on the balcony it wasn’t quiet.
Route down to the beach was via a funicular railway. There was only one, which meant having to wait for a while at busy times.
For the money I paid, I hoped for better, I was disappointed.

Faultless service : excellence throughout. Beautiful - breathtaking location
Fabulous facilities: Gym, hammam, beach/sun beds well managed, fab boat trip
Excellent breakfast cocktails
Being charged for a child bed 70 euros a night.
Prices of spa treatments way too expensive
Lack of tasteful musical entertainment
I would have like to see more Greek touches to the entertainment: in one week I haven’t heard a single Greek music or seeing green dance
We only had blasting Dj at bar and pool party

Very much appreciated was the excellent Service & Operation @ Isola restaurant & Blue Door restaurant.
The pool party was inappropriate & disturbing...

Everything ! But most particularly the view on the Spinalonga island, the breakfast, the bed, the kindness of the staff.
The noise when the staff clear the tables at breakfast and noisily put the chairs back.
The fact that some people “pre-book” the front row sun-beds on the beach early in the morning by putting their stuff on them and only come back in the afternoon.
The individual pool in the room was pretty cold compared to the main pools of the hotel and unfortunately we therefore only used it once.

Everything was good, location was perfect, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. The staff and layout of the hotel made us feel like we were staying in a small boutique hotel rather than a resort. The food was unbelievably good and there was plenty of space/privacy on the beach and around the swimming pool (even though we were there at the height of the summer season). The rooms, restaurant and common areas were tastefully decorated with a level of uniqueness that's hard to find in large resorts. We were sad to leave and will be definitely be back in future years!!
Nothing apart from sometimes you have to wait a few minutes for the cable car to take you down to the beach/pool area 🙂

I would have like good-old paper menu's (not via the app), and a bit more variation in breakfast.

Amazing hotel with super friendly staff and excellent service. We loved the restaurants of the hotel, especially Blue Door and Anthos that offer great Greek cuisine. A special thanks to Giannis and Maria for the cooking lesson. Another highlight is the bar with its team that indulges us with tasty cocktails and wine.
