Ok for a night or 2

Nice property with potential, unfortunately it’s been left to deteriorate in some corners. The pool bar didn’t even serve coffee after a morning swim. Pool area no atmosphere at all. The maisonette was clean, but not very cosy. Sea view only from the window upstairs in the bedroom. The young lady who is there for a few hours a day wasn’t much help regarding car hire, bus schedule etc, her „I don’t know“ became a joke.

Ok for a short stay, we booked for 3 weeks which for us was far too long. We travelled around and spent a few days elsewhere. A car is a must, there is nothing around. Tavern at the pebble beach, 10-15 minutes walk, breakfast was expensive and not that good.

Un superbe séjour !

Cet endroit est un véritable havre de paix dans un magnifique cadre très calme, construit avec originalité avec ses jolis moulins au milieu des vignes et oliviers, proche de la mer et de bonnes tavernes. C'est une petite structure familiale, les hôtes sont très agréables et chaleureux. La piscine est superbe et propre. Nous avions un appartement avec petite terrasse donnant sur la piscine, très bien agencé, avec tout ce qu'il faut. L'hôte propose un petit déjeuner avec des toasts jambon-fromage et des tartines à la confiture, mais attention, ce n'est pas disponible tous les jours. En somme, nous avons passé un très bon séjour ici.

Pas grand chose à reprocher, tout était top, si ce n'est que des affiches annoncent partout des possibilités de sorties privées en bateau alors qu'en réalité quand on a demandé, on nous a découragés en nous disant qu'il fallait être au moins 7 personnes sinon ce serait trop cher, et qu'il y avait peu de possibilités (les affiches mentionnent Balos mais on nous dit que Balos c'est trop loin). Les affiches ont l'air de ne plus vraiment être d'actualité

Very good

Great location, very affordable price, large room with kitchen facilities, high pressure shower and pool. Owner is also friendly and accommodating, no issue with late check-in and early checkout.

Rooms at the top of the pool are close to road so can hear the traffic at night but with bathroom window closed we slept no problem. Rooms/apartments further down wouldn't have an issue.

Quiet and very clean, a unique place to stay. It was lovely to sit on the windmill's terrace in the evening. WiFi was good. There was a hob, a fridge and a kettle in the kitchen area and a sink with washing up liquid.

The staff did not see our booking, so there was no-one around when we arrived. There was only a phone to call the owner, who came to give us the key. He pointed to our windmill then left. There was no-one at the bar, and no restaurant/ food available for dinner or breakfast. Another guest told me we had to drive to Kissamos to eat. Everything in the apartment worked well but the shower was too small for us to use. No coffee or Teabags.

we have chosen the accomodation, because it is close to the western beaches. it has a relaxed location, near the beach, we had a windmill with private pool and had a great time here. it was clean, personel was very helpful.

a very cool place to stay in, located in the middle of olive groves, quite. staff was very help full. the kids liked the adventure of staying in a windmill. very close to kisamoss and the beaches. if you're planning to go to baloss take a cruise don't drive there.

must have a car, this place is nice. but you must have a car to travel or buy stuff.

Very good

Location is perfect, ideal to explore the west Crete. We stayed just one night and we really enjoyed the night at the terrace of our room. Pool was big and clean and kids had a great time. Very clean generally, in the room and the premises.

A bit outdated room, but very clean. The pool surface was a bit rough and we all got small scratches.

Authentic and memorable accomodation with lovely pool

Very authentic and memorable experience to stay in this old windmill village - the area in the country side is surrounded by trees where crickets sing all day, strawberry bushes around the village another lovely touch. The main pool is lovely for kids and adults, and used only by few staying families, and that is hard to find during high tourism season. Great views from the terrace. It is about 5 min drive from Kissamos village and its beaches. We stayed for two nights while visiting Balos and Elafonisi and really enjoyed it.

Staying in apartments we could use only the main pool, as other pools were next to windmills accomodation and for their exclusive use and beds were not as comfy, but that didn't really matter much, the overall experience was great

Clean and friendly

Quick check in and out, room was very clean. Staff were super helpful and kind. Parking was right outside our door. Hassle free and easy. Price was fair and couldn't ask or expect more although I'm sure the staff would have done their best to accommodate if we needed something more.

We were on the ground floor and left some towels to dry out on the provided racks. When we woke up they were even more wet then when we left them. We are assuming it was from their sprinkler system. No fault of anyone's but if I had to say something I did not like that would be it since we were hoping for dry towels in the morning as we were heading to balos for the day. Not a big deal and definitely not a deal breaker. Our mistake I guess.

Exceptional

The best accommodation and view possible! The location is very near to the city and the Drapanias beach, easily reacheable by a picturesque winding path in the close vecinity. The staff is very friendly and helpful, arranging the details of the trips to Balos beach or Samaria gorge. The apartment was very clean and quiet, and the kitchen, well equipped. We stayed at the first floor and the view towards the sea and mountains, plus the neighbouring windmills, divine. The pool was gorgeous and the entire place offered every possibility of enjoying food, from having your own barbeque in the garden, to a meal at the bar. Parking the car next to the apartment was also a big advantage for us. Great choice for a peaceful vacation house!

The village with its windmills looks so beautiful. The staff was really nice and friendly. We had a very nice dinner with meat, potatoes and zucchini cooked in a wooden stove and on the grill. And, of course, a lot of delicious Greek salad. The pool is really nice and open at all hours.

The bed was very uncomfortable. I decided to sleep on the couch bed because the mattress was a little bit softer. There was only a little closet/wardrobe with some hangers for a few dresses but no shelves nor drawers. I had to keep the suitcase open on the floor of the living room because there was nowhere to put the clothes. The bathroom was extremely small.

The villa was clean and spacious, Jorge the host was very friendly and welcoming. We had a grilled chicken for dinner was very nice and delicious. The place have really good vibes for couples and families. Also very close to the beach… Thank you Jorge for the great experience. Alex and Anna

Do not choose this place

The only good thing was the receptionist Maria , she spoke proper English and was gentle to us

The apartment was hard to find (you can't find it on Google Maps + no signs along the road) Once on the apartment, the sink was broken Body soap and shampoo not present and - as per the owner - not included The owner does not speak English, almost no way you can communicate to him The pool is very scratchy. I scratched my feet and knees quite badly

Lovely character of the place, Windmills and the pools made the stay very memorable. Very friendly and comfortable, would happily stay there again!

Ensuite bathroom was rather cramped (because of the round building!) so we barely used it. Not many amenities within walking distance, though not a particular problem as we had the car.

Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Facilities were great, room was clean, location was perfect for us.

The bed was really uncomfortable for us. I like a firm mattress, but this was quite bad. We didn’t sleep well and left with bad backs and hips.

loved the design. each windmill was unique! loved how private and quiet it was. loved the fresh strawberries growing along the walkway. loved that there was convenient parking. love the bbq pit availability. the pool area is gorgeous and the upper part has a 360° view or mountains and ocean. perfect for sunset. loved the staff!

the satellite tv was only Austrian, German, and French channels. tvs weren’t smart phone compatible and didn’t have streaming services available.

Amazing authentic place to quiet down....

A nice and quiet place with much authenticity and away from big touristic centers although close to them. Ideal place to calm down and enjoy a pieceful stay. Maria also helped me to find some tours and gave me info when needed. The owner is also a very nice and kind man and nice to talk to. He is very passionate about Crete, fishing and his hotels. I felt at home in this georgious place. The room was basic but clean and the cleaning lady left me strawberry's!

There was no breakfast or vegetarian diner possible. There were not enough guests to keep a full kitchen running (they only open from may). BUT that was neglectible ! There were enough places to go to in the area and they compensated greatly with their kindness and some coffee and drinks on the house!

Perfect holidays

The windmill has a lot of character . It is quirky and cosy. There is upstairs bedroom mezzanine with en-suite bathroom , downstairs bedroom and living -kitchen area and downstairs bathroom . It is a bit dated but in keeping with the style of the house. Outside is a large swimming pool , 2 sitting areas with sun loungers and bbq area . All surrounded by nature and lovely shrubs and trees. Real Mediterranean feel property . There js also a balcony wrapping around the upstairs bedroom with a lovely sitting area with hay parasol. We loved it ! It has everything you need . Location is walkable to the beach with a nice restaurant. We hired a car and travelled to amazing nearby beaches and visited Chania harbour . There is an air conditioner in the bedrooms . The owners were helpful and pleasant . Cool was left for a bbq for us .

Beds were hard . I didn’t mind it but my husband and kids really complained about painful backs . Housekeeping was coming once every 2-3 days . This should be improved to at least daily bin emptying in the scorching hot weather. WiFi was very bad and we needed to use 4G .
