The bedroom walls and the toilet looks like it needed to be done
As I soon as I walked in the room it smelt it smelt like cigarettes
There wasn’t a fresh Bar soap for me to use to wash my face and the bathroom sink water smelt funny so
I wasn’t able to wash my mouth with it

Absolutely nothing
it’s was dirty, smelly. Bed was uncomfortable with minimal bed clothing.
TV was temperamental, with no controller - had to use the buttons.
Carpet was stained
Bathroom floor was filthy
I had to go and get cleaning products to be able to use it.
Guests arriving at midnight and 0345.
Walls so thin I could hear the snoring from the room above us.
“Receptionist” smelt of alcohol.

nothing.
the property was filthy, it was more like a hostel for people that had been released from prison than a guest house.
the whole place smelt if damp, there was no door on the bathroom, curtains were hanging of the window. absolute disgusting, how on earth they can charge people via booking.com none of the photos are a true reflection of what the place truly looks like.

The man who attended to me was very hospitable and also was very friendly in casual conversation. The service was great as well and I felt very welcome. I would recommend Amber Guesthouse again and would stay there again.
Nothing the service was flawless and a great example of customer service

This hotel need to close in down and refurbish, and it’s absolutely a disgrace. It stinks old broken. Very dirty bathroom. Unbelievable dirty scruffy carpets doors marked walls marked windows curtains full of dirt outside drug dealing loads of smack heads. Just leaning over the wall doing business coming into the hotel. I think they use rooms for homeless it Absolute stinks

Price - it was cheap. I had a one-off event in Derby that weekend so I was happy to stay in a cheap and cheerful place. The room had a lock on the door for added safety. The nearby Aldi and Fish-and-Chip shop was a bonus.
BED BUGS!!!! I had not expected that because the room "looked and smelled" clean and had wooden floors instead of carpet. I only stayed 1 night but ended up with over 30+ bites on my arms and my legs. These bites then became infected and I ended up in A&E hospital for a fortnight of high dose antibiotics and high dose antihistamine. What is more, some of these BED BUGS must have latched onto my stuff and followed me into my car and home. For a couple of weeks following I continued to have strange new bites. It was not until I fumigated both my car and my house over a 4-weeks period that signs of these BED BUGS finally subsided.

The bed was comfortable and the room was warm. Cheap for £40 a night, though there's reason for that and I wouldn't stay any longer than that.
On arrival there was no one there to let us in, ringing the doorbell gave no response. Had to ring the owner Malik, to come and open the door. He welcomed us like we were intruding.
The room itself was very poorly decorated and scruffy. Strange step in by the door, laminate flooring peeling at the edges, wallpaper coming away from the wall or scuffed. The wardrobe was leaning at an angle to the wall and any attempt to open it would pull it over on top of you. Black mould around the shower cubicle (we didn't attempt to use the shower itself)
When checking out, the same situation as arrival, nobody there at reception. I had to seek out a member of staff to return the keys.
The guest house itself seems to be one level up from a squat, wouldn't recommend it other than for somewhere to sleep after a night out and a quick escape in the morning. Poor.

DO NOT STAY! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
I stayed for one night, the whole place smells of weed and cigarettes, the bathroom is disturbingly dirty, and chances are you won't leave it very clean. The room was not clean and looked like the last time they did a refurbishment was in the 50s. The whole place has a very unsafe feel to it, felt more like a crack house than a guesthouse. The only thing that smelled like it might be clean was the sheets, but can't guarantee. The bed was super uncomfortable, I could barely sleep, and the sink tab kept on running on and off all night.
The money I paid was not worth it one bit, and if I wasn't pressed for time I would've left after seeing the state of the place.
I'm still horrified I stayed there, and feel lucky to have left there unharmed.
That place belongs in a horror movie, not on booking.com.
The stank of weed and cigarettes, the dirtiness, the lack of safety, the bed, the bathroom, the whole feel of the place.... In short - everything....

Nothing at all surprised this place was even on booking.com I wouldn’t let a dog stay there
Everything it was disgusting so dirty and not acceptable for a place to stay

It was somewhere to lay my head .
Poor inside tiles missing in my room the smell of cannabis in the corridor for £40 I could have stayed in the premier Inn.

The hot water in the shower was not working, the shower gel dispenser on the wall was empty. Had to wash myself with an old used bar of soap

The owner was friendly and the facilities were all clean and upkept! Good value for money and will definitely be returning on my next trip to Derby!

nothing
smelt , no hot water in shower, drains stunk ,
dirty room , cover on smoke detector, pubic hair on top of kettle , wardrobe falling apart - corridor smelt of weed (drugs)
2.5
To be fair, the room was nice and warm, and the bed - despite the holes in the sheets - was comfortable enough.
It could have been cleaned for a start. The place hasn't seen a brush, mop or polish for seemingly decades. Next, the black mould in the bathroom could be removed, then maybe the place could be given a lick of paint? After that, some unbroken furniture and bedsheets without holes would be a nice finishing touch.
