Really quiet place with a fantastic view in both directions if the weather allows it. The room was large and comfortable, the big garden around the lodge was beautiful, and we felt welcomed here.

Helpful and very friendly staff! Beautiful garden and surroundings. Ample rooms with big windows and relaxing views.
The hotel entrance (circa 200m) is not paved. A high car is recommended.

Location was on a mountainside, mostly misty but beautiful with blooming landscaping. The breakfast was excellent! We also enjoyed dinner there, which was quite good also.
the hot water was not consistent. Not a deal breaker, but a bit uncomfortable at times. One of the beds was less comfortable than average.

Clean. Friendly.
Limited menu items. Expensive menu options.

Wonderful stay with high hospitality close to Guayabo National Monument, Irazu Volcano and Turrialba Volcano (when it will reopen in July)! Great valley view too, delicious food as well and the room was great! Big thanks!

overall atmosphere and service
i missed a bit a warm welcome at the first day… was to paper focused.

One of the most beautiful places we stayed. I really liked the property and great hike near the base of the volcano. Even though I didn't give this place a perfect review, I'd definitely go back.
our room was weird. No fan so it was really hot - no ac. tv had been removed. food was some of the worst we had. Cold spaghetti with a kind of gross pesto sauce. The desert smelled like fish.
9.0
Excellent location with beautiful grounds and views--near to where we went paragliding. Huge rooms with wonderful showers (plenty of hot water and good pressure). Refrigerator and microwave in room with dishes, mugs, coffee maker and hot pot. Balcony was nice. Owners were very friendly and welcoming.
WiFi was a little spotty, but that could have been due to the rain. We were given two breakfast choices and plates were prepared in the kitchen and served. A coffee bar would have been nice along with a small buffet of cheeses, meats, fruits, etc., similar to what other properties have offered.

We loved the property and the staff was very kind.
The food was very limited (dinner) and overpriced.

The food could have been better.

We enjoyed our stay in the rural mountain environment and especially appreciated the fantastic views down the valley to Turrialba. The gardens surrounding the hotel are beautiful. The breakfasts and evening meals were exceptional.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Guayabo lodge and look forward to returning in the future. It is one of the nicest places we're ever stayed...a unique experience!

The dinner was awful and expensive. No to eat in this hotel. It was the worse place for dinner in Costa Rica

The grounds, buildings, staff, location, and food were exceptional. Even the weather was more to my liking, with temps from 50 to 70f.
Nothing.

Pedro was exceptionally helpful before and at arrival as well as during my stay. The young Dutch intern was also a joy. That is what I will remember the most. Great mountain views and view to beautiful sunrise. Good food.

Very nice Garden and a Walking Tracks to the river
The way to the lodge is rough, but doable without 4x4

Breakfast, included in the stay, was excellent, with plenty of locally grown coffee. Dinner by reservation was excellent. Always well-served. The hot-water shower felt fabulous on cool nights. Views from the deck and the dining room as well as our own room were priceless.

it was really what I expect: a place to rest. The owners are very kind. The place is clean not just the rooms but all the property.
about the property everything was excellent; but I think they need to work a little bit more on the food. breakfast is ok… but the dinner options need a review.
