Overall very good
Comfortable, stylish, modern cottage with attractive, private sunny garden. Could do with a little maintenance, e.g constantly filling cistern, squeaking door in red bedroom etc. Very hot in kitchen without skylight blinds. Need more explanation of how things work. Very few Freeview channels.

Pleasant, mostly well-appointed cottage, in a nice area.
Knodishall certainly isn't a "picture box" village - but it is close to several lovely places, e.g. Aldburgh, Thorpness, Southwold, Snape, etc. So, it was convenient for visiting local places. The cottage was nicely presented and adequate for 4 people (5 couples). Our friends were even able to bring their dog, which was good. The fact that there were NO blinds in the central kitchen area, meant that this got VERY hot - even leaving the 2 large Velux windows open. The whole cottage tended to get hot - although we were there in a heatwave! Maybe, the wooded exterior cladding kept the heat in. At least we were able to close the curtains/blinds in the 2 bedrooms and lounge, while we were out during the day, which did help to keep them cooler. There were tea, coffee, sugar caddies in the kitchen - but they were all empty - as was the fridge. It is quite common now to have a welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk - even, sometimes some cake or biscuits - which would have been very welcome, especially after a long, hot journey. Other things lacking were:- (1) shaver points in either ensuite, to re-charge shavers and toothbrushes (both very common now): (2) the 'ordinary' (old-fashioned) electric hob was SO SLOW, after being used to an induction hob - which are SO MUCH faster and more efficient - thus saving time - and energy/electricity; (3) a VERY big step up into the shower cubicle for my wife, who is partly disabled. We have low profile shower trays, which are only about 2 inches high and easy to step over. Overall, We enjoyed our week and were able to visit several lovely places nearby. Just a few improvements to the cottage would have made it even more enjoyable. Eric and Hilary Freeman.

The cottage is very comfortable and very private. You walk into the kitchen dinner through the one door. The kitchen is very functional, you have everything you need to cook a decent meal if you want to. To the right of the kitchen is the lounge on the front which has two comfortable sofas. To the rear is bedroom one with shower ensuite. The bed is very comfortable and the linens good quality. To the left of the kitchen is bedroom two with shower over bath ensuite. Both bedrooms have TV's along with one in the lounge so there is no need to squabble over the TV control with plenty of Freeview channels to choose from. You have a small patio to the front with a small lawn to the side. The garden furniture is a bit past its best so take care when sitting on the chairs, they may well collapse on you which happened to a member of our party. Through the summer months I hope the grass is well maintained and if so this is a pleasant area to spend a few hours soaking up the sun. Unfortunately the grass had not been cut for our visit and had obviously not been cut since the end of last season which made a very difficult task of cleaning up after our dogs. But all in all a lovely spot to spend yr holiday within driving distance of 45 mins to Felixstowe, Ipswich or Lowestoft with plenty of places to visit in between.

Had a very relaxing time. The cottage is close to a common for dog walking and there are a lot of good pubs nearby - also dog friendly. In fact this part of Suffolk proved to be very welcoming to dogs everywhere . The location of the cottage makes it easy to get to Aldeburgh and other places of interest. Very pleased we chose it.

Super cottage!
Fantastic, modern, well equipped cottage. Good location. Lovely enclosed garden. Good local pubs and only 5 minutes drive to Aldeburgh. Great stay!

Suffolk Cottage 1 was lovely. It was spotlessly clean on arrival, and has all the equipment we needed for our stay, the beds were really comfortable and it even had a dishwasher. There was plenty of room for 4 of us and a dog. It is well located for visiting the Suffolk Coast towns of Southwold, Aldeburgh, Snape etc. and if you have a dog Knodishall Common is a lovely place for a walk and is just 3 minutes away. The Butchers Arms pub is just across the road and there is a small local shop close by too. I would (and have) recommend this cottage to friends.

Thimble Cottage
Thimble Cottage was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. All the appliances looked new and were in perfect working order. We appreciated the dishwaSHER TABLETS (x2) and pint of milk. It was bigger than I expected. It is in an ideal location with easy road access to the coast and other sites of interest. Plenty of parking space in front of the cottage. The information folder was useful and held just the right amount of information required on lovely places to visit, local amenities and things relevant to the cottage. Good telephone signal and wifi worked perfectly too.
The owner answered my emails promptly.
I would recommend this property to friends and relatives who were fit and able but the steep staircase would prove difficult for anyone elderly with mobility difficulties, any one very all, and I would be worried about a toddler falling down them (although a stairgate was provided).
My mother and I enjoyed visiting much of the suffolk coastline, the villages and Sutton Hoo. The suggestions in the visitors' folder were useful for walks and parking. The village shop was well stocked and the shopkeeper very pleasant. We were blessed with good weather which added to the enjoyment of this peaceful, quiet cottage and village.

Great bungalow!
Our second visit, and a good location close to the coastal towns with loads of lovely walks - the dog loves it. an enclosed garden which is important.
Access is not so good as last time a new house has been built behind.
Two problems this year: no mirror in 2nd shower room and a very loose WC seat.
We'd certainly plan to go again, and have recommended it to friends

A lovely cottage, well furnished and maintained.
Clean and comfortable, bright and sunny. Comfortable beds with a tv in each and en-suite bathroom. A lovely enclosed garden, safe for pets & small children. No stairs or trip hazards for elderly people, and a lovely walk-in shower. A very quiet and private location, near to good local amenities, and lots to do in the area. A really lovely place to stay.

Fantastic Cottage
What a fantastic cottage for a short stay (and we'll be back for a long stay I'm sure) - the cottage is renovated to a very high standard and is very comfortable. Our 19 month old daughter loved the garden, and we loved the enclosed nature! She was also curious of the steep staircase. Booking extremely easy and directions spot on.
We'll be back.

Cosy cottage for two
Thimble Cottage is a perfect size for a couple. Tastefully decorated in keeping with the character of the building, and comfortably furnished. Everything was good quality and spotlessly clean. The garden was quiet and sunny, and a pleasant place to sit.
The cottage is in a village near Aldeburgh, in a quiet street with a nice pub only yards away, and a village shop with a very friendly owner. Aldeburgh itself is a charming seaside resort with upmarket coffee shops, restaurants and shops. We also visited Southwold and the RSPB Reserve at Minismere, both a short drive away.
Ideal location to explore the Suffolk coast, and a cosy and comfortable cottage. Perfect for a weekend away.
