I loved the location. If you want a to relax in a quiet but beautiful place, Paras Inn is highly recommended! Spacious rooms, fully equipped kitchen, clean bathrooms and a very relaxing ambience. It is also super near to Tambisaan beach where you can enjoy swimming without too much crowd.

Unique and Philippine themed accommodation.
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
Staff are able to provide home cooked food as per request and they can cook yummy food.
Relaxing and quiet environment.
A bit far from the main beach, although accommodation provides etrike service for a small fee.
During our stay, there was disruption of water, so no water for almost a day. Property should have a water tank as backup. Staff provided us heaps of purified water later in the evening for domestic use.

The photos in the ad - a pity this is not reflecting the reality
Nothing of what you see in photos is what you get. I thought I'd be doing a good thing by staying with a local business rather than a hotel, but I was soooo wrong. The room they gave us was not the upstairs one, but one downstairs next to their kitchen/living area. It's damp and dark, and you can't open the only available window due to privacy issues (the window looks right in their kitchen area where they sit around all day). The owners will play cards, watch TV and talk there until 1am (I think it would have been going on for longer if we didn't tell them to please be quiet as we were trying to sleep). We had a water cut-off while showering, which basically left us soapy and eventually washing ourselves with buckets... Location is terrible, there is absolutely nothing in the area, and you need to hike 45min to town and back or get an overpriced trike ride (200 pesos, of which a cut will go right to the owner/manager right in front of you - he will tell you you can't get any trike outside and you need a "special" ride because of the time/area. Btw, there is a hop on/off bus that actually runs the length of the island, he won't mention). We checked out after the first night, as there were hotels in the centre for even less that guaranteed more than basic amenities. The price is a rip-off, it wouldn't have been too bad if it reflected what you get (which should be priced at 1/3). In general, I wouldn't advise boracay as a destination. Much better and cheaper places elsewhere in Se Asia.

Felt like a authentic Philippine home stay
Upon arrival, felt like the room hadn’t been cleaned (sandy floor, sandy bed). Cold shower, we stayed for 7 nights and the room was not made up throughout the stay. We were thought to believe the stay was at a beach shack but it was further in (still close to the beach but not on the front). We thought we would be in the upstairs tree house but we were downstairs and it was very dark.
