Probably one of the best hotel experiences I've had. All of the staff was extremely helpful and nice. There was a bit of a language barrier but they were very accommodating nonetheless. My room was a good size with a nice view, I came for fall color viewing and I had a fantastic view outside my window. The hot springs at the hotel were extremely nice. The water was just the right temperature for me and it made my skin feel fantastic afterwards. I personally prefered the sulfur bath more but both were great. I was lucky enough to go when it wasn't that busy and had the entire thing to myself. Last but not least, the best part about my stay was the food. I stayed for 2 nights and was able to indulge in some of the most delicious food. The dinner and breakfast for each day was different but equally as delicious. If you ever stay here, you must get the option with meals provided.

A traditional Japanese hotel with tatami futon mats. Wonderful staff who were super helpful and always making sure that I was taken care of. They even had English instructions on how to prepare my sukiyaki / shabushabu. The food was awesome, I stayed for 3 nights and the courses were never repeated. They offered discounted lift pass and rental so just ask. They also had shuttle service to the bus terminal & ski lift, but it was just a 5-min walk to the ski lift anyway. (The lady at tourist information at the bus terminal was nice enough to call the hotel for me for pickup when I was asking for a phone booth.) Walking to the main streets wasn't too bad as well so I took a stroll out there every day. Loved the onsens especially after a long day of snowboarding. Overall a very pleasant stay for a ski trip.
The wifi wasn't working very well. The dressing & shower area at the big onsen bath was kind of cold, and you had to dress & undress twice if you were to try out the 2 different onsens as they were apart

The location and bus access was extremely convenient and one of the primary reasons in choosing the place. The hotel also offers their own shuttle service to get you around faster if your in a pinch.

it’s nice place to spend Christmas in Japan. the in-house onsen pools are marvelous. food is aplenty at dinner and breakfast. maybe 2 nights should be good enough for the food indulgence
nothing really. If need to pick one, it might good to introduce some western cuisine eg bread, sunny side ups for breakfast.

It was snowing so hard, and we went to Zao by bus. Instead of walking from the bus terminal to the hotel, they picked us up. Good customer service + complimentary snacks, fruits, drinks. Highly recommended!!
The onsen outside was not open. Maybe because of the weather

I stayed with this hotel on full-board services. The breakfast and dinner are very good and too much for me. The dishes are mainly selected from local farm products. The vegetables and local beef are very good. So don't expect too much on sashimi or sushi.
The staff is very helpful and provide details of instruction to get to the town, and a discount voucher to hire ski gear. When we checked out, the heavy snow (more than half feet) covered my rental car. The staff initially helped my boy sweep off the snow.
The hotel is about 2 minute drive to the ropeway for skiing or visiting the Zao Ice Monster. There have two types of onsen in this hotel for 24 hours.

I loved the kindness of the staff, the room and the breakfast. Women at the front desk are absolutely lovely.
The onsen was great, only the indoor onsen was working, though.
They also have a sulphur water onsen with an open window to colorful trees.
I asked for a silent room and they gave me one close to a door that was shut all night long cause it was the door to the roof, where people have tents and a view. That dod not let me sleep very well and I was tired for my trekking the next day. Cleaning could improve.

The breakfast and dinner meals are perfect! Absolutely delicious food and service! The hotel management and the restaurant staff are very caring and attentive, we felt so welcomed and comfortable! The indoor natural hot spring is very cozy, a perfect place to relax. This is a great option if you're planning to stay in Zao!
The outdoor hot springs are closed and no one notified us of this before our arrival. Apart from this, everything else was absolutely perfect.
