About this chalet rental
The house offers two bedrooms, a living room, a bathroom (with shower, bath and toilet), a fully equiped kitchen and a storage room (with washing machine and dryingmachine).
The master bedroom Has A double-size bed (180 x 200). The second bedroom Has A bunkbed (the upper bed 90 x 200, the lower bed 140 x 200).
In the living room is a double size sleeping couch available. Besides the sleeping couch there is:
- A desk available as working space.
- WiFi is included in the rent.
- Smart TV with access to internet.
- The TV features nine foreign channels (a o.. DR1, SVT1, NRK1, British BBC, Sky News, France 24, Boomerang, VH1 and National Geographic).
- Blue Ray Player (for CD, DVD and Blue Ray DVD).
The kitchen biedt a microwave oven, a normal oven, a dishwasher, coffee machine, water heater, toaster and fridge with freezer. Besides That you can dine and eat in the kitchen area on a large table.
The house has a completely new interior (end 2015). For families traveling with babies a cot and child seat for the dining table is available for free. Please let us know upfront That a baby will join you on your trip.

All area's Specified above can be used by guests. For guests arriving by car at a parking place is available in front of the house.
In Addition to the house is usefull possible to rent our car. It concerns a Hyundai Tucson 4x4. The car sacrificing space for 5 persons and HAS enough luggage space. The daily rental costs are € 90. Sent us a email for more information.
Interaction with Guests
We are not living in Iceland, but if you send us an email, we will arrange the care keeper of the house to contact you for Further assistance.
Upon arrival a starting kit containing a dishwasher tablet, a washing tablet for color and white wash and some cleaning cloths will be oversupplied to you. Also the bed linen and towels are included.
The Neighborhood
Selfoss is a town with approx. 6. 000 Inhabitants. It is situated between Reykjavik and all major wonders in the south. The town offers a couple of supermarkets, fast food restaurants (KFC, Domino's), swimming pool, ATM machine, bank.
In case of emergency a hospital, dentist and doctor are available in the village.
There is a good bus service to and from Reykjavik. The costs of a ticket amounts approx. 1. ISK 600 (EUR 12). Also bus services to other areas leave from Selfoss.
Getting Around
The home is a good base to explore the natural wonders along the south coast of Iceland (for example Geysir, Blue Lagoon, Landmannalaugar, Vik, Thorsmork, etc).
We can advice you on a companythat offers affordable 4x4 cars or normal cars to rent for the holiday period.
Guest wanting to go horseback riding we can advice to go to Hveragerdi (approx. 10 min. From the home) or in Selfoss. If you want a recommondation about a good horseback riding company please let us know.
A book with pictures and suggestions for Daytours is available in the house, together with leaflets or interesting places to visit or things to do.
Other Things to Note
On request we can help you plan your trip to Iceland before arrival. With this service you can enjoy your trip to the fullest. We ourselves have traveled to Iceland many times (about 20 times) and we know some local people, so we can advice you on places to visit accordion thing to your own wishes.

Great place in the quiet suburbs- very quick to get into town for groceries or restaurants, and perfected situated as a base camp for adventures in the area. Well equipped with some nice extras (spices, cooking oil, toiletries). Was comfortable for 4 adults and has nice cooking and dining area. Owner was very helpful and provided excellent guides for day trips and highlights in the area.

Location was perfect for our stay in Iceland. We had a car and used Selfoss as our base for the south road and golden circle.
The property is in a quiet neighborhood near restaurants and grocery stores.
The kitchen is well stocked. I would definitely stay here again.

The house is in a very quiet neighborhood but is very close to good shopping and restaurants. Selfoss is much larger than we had anticipated and it was a great locatuon to use as a base for severalnday trips atound the area. The house was great. Excellent kitchen. Amazing huge bathtub with unlimited hot spring water. My wife and her sister basically lived in the tub when we got back from our day trips. We spent 4 great days in the area. End of winter so some light snow one day and rain or clear others. We missed the northen lights due to wether, but the scenery and waterfall hikes and geysers and other hikes were awesome. Easy access to the house. We would definitely stay here again. Only issue was we didn't hear anything about getting into the house until just a week before our trip. Made us nervous, but then communication after that with host was great.

Just returned from 4 night stay in Selfoss. We were very impressed by the cleanliness, cosyness and exceptionally well equipped house.
The situation of the property was really good to be able to venture to all different parts of Iceland. Situated in a lovely quiet street with easy access to shops. I would recommend this property to anyone wishing stay in the Selfoss area. A big thank you for helping to make our holiday in Iceland unforgettable.

Very convenient to golden circle sites (all sites less than 1 hr drive away). House was perfect for our group of 4. Well stocked kitchen, appliances, television, bath, shower, clothes washer/dryer, microwave, dish washer, etc etc.. we were very happy with this house for our time in Selfoss.

This house was perfect for my family of four. It was very clean and comfortable. The slippers were also a nice touch. The owner was very responsive.

This was a great place to end our trip. The hoise was spacious and equipped with everything and more. The hosts have a guest book with useful information about the house but about the region. We were not able to enjoy the patio because of the rain but were able to enjoy a movie and cook good meals. The house was super clean and everything in good condition.

We were very pleased with the how the property was appointed and supplied and the cleanliness. Selfoss was a great base for visiting attractions in South Iceland. The property owners were very prompt in answering our questions on placed to go and things to do and had great recommendations. We would definitely book again if our travels take us to Iceland and would recommend to others.

Perfect stay, perfect lacoation. Really nice generous space of each room. For us, like a family with children under 12, is always important accomodation. Im not afraid to say, that this was one of the best ! <3

We rented this house after 4 days in Reykjavik and many tours. It provided some much needed privacy and serenity. We cooked dinners & ate in the food hall in town. The location was fabulous for a day trip to Vik & Black Sand Beaches (Game of Thrones fans, this is a must!). The Owners were SUPER kind and responsive while we stayed. No question was silly. The beds were all very comfortable as was the sofa in main living room. Plenty of space for a family of 5 (we were only 2 with an adult son). Grocery store down the street, mini mart even closer and 3 minute drive onto the main street. We’d absolutely stay here again

Lovely little house in a neighborhood. Many places to stay feel more like hotels, but this place definitely felt like someone's house in a residential neighborhood. Selfoss isn't a big town, so it's just a couple blocks to get to the center of town and all the retail and restaurants. Selfoss also is a nice location to get to lots of different places (Golden Circle, Vestmannaeyjar, Lava Tunnel, etc.), so it was a great home base for a couple days.

Wonderful home in perfect location to explore the south coast and golden circle
Our first visit to Iceland. We wanted to spend a few days outside of Reykjavik, in order to explore the south coast and parts of the golden circle. Selfoss was the perfect location - golden circle sights like Geysir and the Crater were a quick drive, while this location also made the south coast and Vik just a short ride away. The house was well-maintained and comfy - had everything that we needed. And the hosts were incredibly accommodating. Would stay here again given the chance.

Comfortable and quiet
Very nice home, well stocked kitchen equipment, and very comfortable bed. It’s also a nice location to explore the South part of the island from. Although it is in town, it was a surprisingly very quiet neighborhood. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you Judith.

There are laundry facilities, but be aware that the machines are small and the dryer takes a long time to get things dry, so allow plenty of time. (We were there during some very heavy rain, so were not able to line dry anything). The town of Selfoss is very nice as well, with convenient shops, restaurants, and swimming.
