The location is amazing, the room was beautiful & service from the staff was outstanding. AC worked, shower is powerfull and the room was made to perfection. It was easy to get to and from the road to the hotel.
We additionally paid for secure parking, unfortunately, it’s just behind the building and in the sun (it was gated & secure). We had some perishable food in the car, so had to cool down the car as it was very hot outside. Other than this, we loved everything.

Mały, stylowy, elegancki hotel położony na Starówce, nad Motławą - świetna lokalizacja; pokój w stylu angielskim. Cicho.

Very attentive staff, location is a little outside the main bustle of the downtown. Breakfast was good, not great.
Combination of old windows and it’s location made for a very noisy and unrestful night- you have car on cobblestone noise and foot traffic noise. At least for the two rooms on the ground floor near the front of the building soundproof window upgrades are required before I will consider staying here again.
Additionally, the mattresses are saggy. Maybe in 2014 when they won their traveler awards they were great, but pretty sure they are the very same ones still- not great.
In my opinion, if this hotel doesn’t give itself a facelift soon, it will be too worn down to warrant its 4 stars.

I think it is the best hotel in Gdansk. Top!

Perfect location in downtown Gdansk, nice interior, spacious rooms. The staff was really helpful and acommodating.

In a central location, great staff and excellent breakfasts with lovely welcome drink
Room on the ground floor. At night, the curtains didn't block the car headlights from flooding the room . Didn't spoil our stay but heavier blinds would resolve that

Excellent location, super-friendly and helpful staff, warm and welcoming atmosphere, comfortable bed.
Breakfast nice but fairly limited in choice. Only one comfortable chair in room as the springs felt broken in other one.

The staff was so helpful and courteous. The room and lobby were beautiful. Everything was wonderful. We were able to walk to the old city and to restaurants and museums. We have already recommended Podewils to others.

Amazing! Beautiful room, clean, with a welcome gift, gorgeous furniture, lovely bathroom, bed comfy, huge tv, staff lovely, common areas of the hotel stunning. Everything was perfect.
Absolutely nothing to criticise, everything was just perfect.

Very friendly, accommodating staff, beautiful room!
WiFi was a bit slow in my room but worked in the lobby.

Beautiful old baroque building and interior. Very comfy beds. Good breakfast. Staff very obliging.
Although beautiful, the hotel is very tired and shabby in places. The plumbing especially needs updating. There is no restaurant so wondering where they get 5 stars? The little ferry outside the hotel no longer runs so, for older people it is a good walk to the old town. There is no guest lounge to speak of, just 3 tables in reception.

Great location, olde worlde - fits in nicely with the history of Gdańsk. Really comfy & quiet.
No bar or restaurant on site.

Traditional, well appointed hotel in a great location. I would especially like to pay tribute to the staff, who were all very helpful and cheerful.
A small point really, but if I could mention it, the exterior of the hotel would benefit from repainting. It's starting to look just a little shabby.

very beautiful, great location, comfortable bed and super pet-friendly :)
4.5
Old Polish property with modern amenities close to the old city, perfect for sightseeing. Very friendly and helpful staff, nothing was too much. Breakfast catered for all tastes and appetites. A buffet and also a menu with a variety of hot food choices. Our early pick ups for trips was accommodated by the hotel and staff too.
The only fault we could find was that there were no blinds in the bathroom, only curtains. You had to have them closed when using the facilities i.e toilet, shower etc. This could be easily rectified.

The property was perfect. It could have been more perfect if it had a gym.

Great and privately owned place; no chain- feeling at all and a true individual trat in the heart of Gdańsk.

This was the most charming hotel imaginable. The staff are delightful, both ahead of our trip and when we arrived. The bed was supremely comfortable and we just felt incredibly welcomed and looked after. The complimentary liqueur and chocolates were a lovely touch.
