I loved everything!
Location, facilities, staff, room, and surprisingly breakfast! This is my second trip to vietnam and second trip to Vung Tau. Grand hotel is hands down the best hotel that I've stayed in during my two months abroad.
I absolutely hated the Spa, and I am feeling conflicted even mentioning it because I loved the hotel so much. Couples massage, she lucked out and got a great masseuse. Me on the other hand paid for the worst massage that I've ever had. Wasn't pressure, it was all due to lack of technique.

Location is perfect but that's about it
A run down, poorly maintained hotel with staff that are uninformative and not interested. The photos on the website are very old and not true representation of how it is currently. Breakfast is at another hotel, making a booking for the tennis court was frowned upon to the point the reception lied that it was fully booked and in fact it was not used all day. Check in staff really had no idea and the rooms and facilities are all closed and in need of repair. The place is like a ghost town. Hugely disappointed

it’s central to all restaurants & shops. great staff . breakfast was well catered
3.5
Very central location; room is clean and good. Good value for money.
The breakfast buffet is rather average, variety is okay, perhaps quality of food can be improved
The hotel is quite old, in general clean but facilities can be renovated to modernize a bit , it would be more appealing (for e.g. the swimming pool, it looks clean, solid but pretty old)

Good location
Very old and smelly

The room & location being just beside the sea was good. The Limousine bus drops and picks you up from the location which was good. Had been given a room upgrade which was nice. Close to a lot of restaurants and bars.
However, no lift and had to climb up & down to and from the third level. The breakfast was limited for continental and more of Vietnamese cuisine on offer. No milk for coffee except a dairy sweetener which does not make for good coffee. If you asked for water then was denied as it is on chargeable basis even though the room was for two and were given only 02 200 ml water bottles when checked in. Hotels should always provide water on request or provide RO Water. Breakfast was served in the adjacent sister concern Palace Hotel which was troublesome walking out to for breakfast & meals.

Given an upgrade to a Superior Room which was large and had a terrace not just a balcony
It was not made clear that all meals were to be taken at the adjacent sister hotel The Imperial. We had to work this out for ourselves but was quite acceptable.

old Hotel but good location

I liked the buffet, comfortable bed and hotel location.
I didn't like the fact that there was no lift to the rooms, rooms out dated, and having to stand in a bath tub, to have a shower.

it’s a big old-fashioned (in a good way!) hotel with spacious rooms and classic services. Breakfast buffet was good. There is a big pool (deep enough). Staff was super friendly!
I wish they provide more vegan options for breakfast :)
4.0
very comfy room with view of park and sea shore
corridor to lift was really hot/humid with full food smell from function room, should have made the area air conditioned or suction fans....
4.5
Superb location, right opposite front beach. Spacious room, with very comfortable bed, fridge, safe, plenty of wardrobe space. Very nice pool, with loungers. Staff very professional and helpful
Shower was a stand-up-in-the-bath type, resulted in a basically flooded bathroom floor.

Fabulous staff! There was no request made that the staff did not try to fulfill. The restaurant was wonderful! The breakfast and lunch selections were global and gave the chance to try many things, with some European food to go back to if needed. (I fell for a cheeseburger last day.) The swimming pool was excellent. I think I was the only person using it. And the pathway along the water, across the street from the hotel, is fantastic in early morning. NOTE: The Grand Hotel and the Palace Hotel (Both on booking.com) are actually connected to each other. I stayed in Grand but breakfast/lunch were in Palace. The flowers around the complex are lovely!
The facility was spectacular just a few years ago, I am sure. But the maintenance has fallen down, and in the high humidity that is deadly to a hotel room. In my room and bathroom the walls showed mold spots spreading from many locations. Likely these are surface molds but they still made me very uncomfortable. This issue was also observed in the meeting room(s). Carpeting in the hallways smelled and made for unpleasant walks through the floors for me. Thus while COVID is passing, the concern for mold should be noted. The mattress was rock hard with no ability to soften. The location felt residential though there were some restaurants and activities in the area.

Cool old-school hotel. Large room with balcony.
The furniture and facilities were a bit old and worn; could do with a freshen-up.

Great location opposite beach and near town.
Breakfast was OK.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Pool was good.
Hotel has seen better days. Is looking tired and needs a renovation, new carpet etc.
