Exceptional

It was a pub with in the evening a party and music. That’s what I like about the location. Friendly people en very good food! I’ll absolutely recommend this stay. Also because it’s a good location to travel the island with some nice hotspots.

Ozark kind of vibes

I enjoyed meeting the community in the local bar below. The overall feeling was more like a tavern/inn where locals gathered to enjoy their evening. The surrounding areas should also be great for hiking trips and when the weather is getting better for surfing

That I got here purely by following my interest. This spot is for sure a hit or miss, since if it aligns with your way of being sociable you are going to have a great time.

The price was high for what we got.

Clean and simple bedrooms, good mattresses. Quiet at night, because it was not high season. Helpful staff.

No private bathroom, one shower was overflowing, some garbage was left in the cans, No hot water heater, no glasses or cups for drinking. No soap in one of the showers. No small night lamp in double room but staff helped to find one. The hanger for coats was broken.

It was clean and nice, and the owner was nice too.

This accommodation is on top of a pub! We barely slept at all during the night due to people screaming and prtying all night and morning. It was horrible.

Exceptional

Fantastic location down at the harbour. Close to the supermarket/buy groceries. Smart TV in the room (I could connect my android phone to it via the wi-fi and cast whatever for instance my Swedish TV channels). Super living compartment (seems newly built or recently renovated). Bar/restaurant.

No secure parking for motorcycle (parking on the street close to the place during high season not optimal due to their bar i.e I guess then drunk guests, I came during low season so then no problem). No microwave in the common kitchen.

Disappointing stay in scenic Selje

The location is great, the room was clean and the welcome friendly.

Upon arrival, we were told that the kitchen would be open until 21.00, and that we could get a pizza until 23.00. When we went for a quick meal at 19.15 however, a less than helpful member of staff informed us that we were to late to get a meal, and she offered no tips or alternatives. Selje is a tiny place, and on a Sunday evening, not exactly abundant with options. To pay NOK 2,000 per night for a small room with a bunk bed and a small double, no en-suite bathroom, and no dedicated amenities except bedding and towels, is not great value for money - and the "Deluxe" description is far from accurate. The room was also very warm, despite no in-room heating being on and the temperature outside being relatively modest.
