The front steps need repair, a few of the wood steps are soft and or broken, had bug issues in the basement. The black beetles are crawling around. Both toilets do not flush all that well. Everything else was great. Excellent area, beds good.

Very nice place, a little dark for me but that’s just me. The beds were great!! Everything was perfect for us!
A great location, easy to access a lot of things within a short distance.
Thanks for a great stay!!!

We enjoyed the cabin and the fact that is was 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen had suitable items for cooking and the laundry was a useful feature during our stay. A drawback was the carpet as with rainy weather and bike gear it isn’t easy to take off outside but there is carpet going upstairs and also downstairs which always makes a person nervous as you don’t want to dirty it. There were a few stains on the carpet already so it may need to be updated at some point.

We really enjoyed the cabin & surrounding area. Everything was great, lots of space for us to relax & spread out. The kitchen was great too. It had everything we needed. Wi-Fi was slow, but that’s ok because we appreciated the movie selection in dvds. Thanks again!

The place was great, had everything we needed and exceeded our expectations, great location, very quiet and roomy. The only issue we had was the numbers for the cabin blend in with the deck, so it took us a little while to actually find it, but no biggie. I would def. stay again.

Only a stones throw from Terry Peak parking, yet quiet and peaceful. Well kept homey cabin. Split level, a little draw back with ski legs in the evening. Great low traffic dog walking roads. Excellent snow removal. Must revisit.

After a very long drive from St. Louis, Missouri, we pulled into the driveway and from that moment, were not disappointed. We were greeted by two ‘friends’ (deer) grazing on the property. Written directions to access the property and how to check in were spot on and seamless. The cabin is, and has, everything you could want or need. There was plenty of room,, and the kitchen had every utensil you could need for cooking in, as well as having plenty of room. Having a gas grill was great and we did cook one night on it. It was just two of us but there were plenty of towels, beds, sheets for a larger family or group.
The only con was that it was pretty dusty, but I always bring wipes anyway just in case, so after going over the furniture we would use it was fine. We initially booked 3 nights, and decided we wanted to stay 3 more. The hosts made it seamless to extend our stay. As another reviewer wrote: do be careful about going outside and shutting the door without a key-the door will lock behind you.
The online pictures accurately represent this property so there are no surprises. If you are looking for a mountain getaway in the Black Hills of SD, this is the place! We highly recommend it and would stay here again!

We had a short stay this trip but for your own space, take the pup, and relax after the day it was 'just right'. :)

It was not clean at all. We had to scrub the place down before using anything.

Nice Cabin needs updating for the price.
We were a little surprised buy all the stains in the carpet. I took photos as soon as we walked in to make sure they wouldn’t charge us. The fridge makes a horrible noise that makes it hard to sleep if your upstairs. Plus the fridge door doesn’t stay shut.

Great location
The property is in a fantastic location if you plan on skiing. We were unable to stay our entire reservation as we were snowed in at home and got there two days late, lesson learned: Get the insurance. I felt the cleaning fee and pet fee were a little high. They advertised $150 a night. We had three nights but paid almost $800.

Everything was good and went ok. The recliner downstairs needs to be fixed. It was difficult to get the TV to work. The options for regular shows were not available. The DVD worked and there was a nice choice of movies. We did not have a pet, but that option was good. The biggest problem was the wifi. It did not work. A service person who works for the cabin rental company came and tried to get it going and changed a cable, but it never worked. He was nice.Xfinity did not seem to care, nor did it want to help when they were contacted.Even though we were on vacation, couple of people in our party have jobs that required wifi, and so checking in online was not available to them. But when looking for a getaway, the description said wifi was available, and that was one reason for choosing this place. Disappointing.Rent again in the Black Hills? Probably not that cabin.

Fun!
Had a great time at "Home in the Hills" my only suggestions are you replace the chair that is broken downstairs and we had a terrible time trying to have someone help us to get satellite to work and it never did work....Otherwise had everything we needed and we would stay again!
