Hotel is good, a little walk up to the Main Street but it welcoming, staff are really helpful and it has a lovely on site onsen.
There are kerosene heaters in the rooms which produce fumes that were overwhelming at times. If they addressed that then we would be very happy to stay again

The breakfasts were just ideal for a skiing holiday, and the traditional breakfast was delicious. The walk to the snow was short. The staff were very friendly.

it was a very warm rustic cabin and they leave little snacks for when you get back in the afternoon
it was quite far from the main town and the road leading to the property was not ploughed/shoveled making it very difficult to walk/drive in and out of the property.

This hotel is exceptional value and very clean. It is family owned so you get an authentic Japanese feel. The onsen is “real” separate male and female not just a hot tap water onsen, it did feel therapeutic. The beds are comfy and made up everyday. Loved the electric blankets. Brekky was coffee or tea, eggs , toast and fruit and inexpensive so a great start to the ski day. In the evening we sat in the lounge area as a group and bought drinks at the bar and also sat with our own drinks. We also spent an afternoon using their shovels and snow sleds playing out the front building ramps and having snow fights. The bathrooms look brand new, very clean. If you are on a budget and want to go to Japan this place is awesome.
The heaters in the rooms are kerosene, did not bother me at all, I loved the sound of it turning on and off but my hubby did think it had a slight smell. Also showers are set times in the morning or afternoon, but again this did not effect is as we went skiing and by the time we were back the hot water was on. I timed it and it is a 5 minute walk to the main town street, which isn’t a big deal but carrying equipment is tiring. We quickly worked out we could leave our boards at our ski hire place (Myoko snow sports) so again, this wasn’t a problem for the price we paid for the accommodation we really can’t complain.

Great location, a little distance away from the shops but also means quieter. Walk to slopes is manageable, about 10 minutes.
Hotel is quaint, and has its own character. Space is great, room is very comfortable. Bath can be hotter but small issue. Facilities are adequate. The hotel owners are the best! My car got stuck in the snow and steep slope and I received prompt assistance from them to get the car into the hotel grounds using another road. The staff also provided us with a cheese platter on the house on the night we decided to have our wine at the bar. Superb service I can’t compliment more. Breakfast was great every morning, will definitely come back in future!
Remote control to the TV was a little dusty and dirty, but I managed to fix that by using my wet wipes. Nothing much else to complain about other than that!

Charged a lot of extras when we went to check out, eg; a heating tax for each night.
