Amazing property in a great location. The building is amazing!
The breakfast was really tasty and all the staff were lovely.
We arrived on a Saturday night for one night before going to Oaxaca. There was a private function on, a wedding I think, which was extremely loud until very late. We also woke up at about 3am and there was an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke I think our room was near the staff area perhaps?
We therefore had very little sleep.
Overall a good hotel in a good location the issues we had may just have been on that night and specific to our room but I have to review on that.

Sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Boutique-Hotel in historischem Gebäude. Zentrale und ruhige Lage. Personal sehr zuvorkommend. Reichhaltiges Frühstück.
Zimmer etwas klein. Tagsüber etwas Gewerbelärm von Nachbargebäude.

Very cozy and a large room
Actually there’s a club right in front of the hotel and on Friday and Sunday they play disco music very loud til 6-7 am so, even if the hotel as double glasses at windows to isolate, you can hear it all and it’s difficult to sleep. Ask for a room not on the plaza if you stay for the weekend.
The area is pretty packed of cars also

Historical and beautiful. The rooftop bar was great. Excellent drinks and food.
In the heart of the city so sometimes very crowded by pedestrian traffic

Beautiful 500-year-old Historic hotel built by one of Hernan Cortes captains. Very good service and excellent restaurant onsite. The location is fantastic, very close to Zocalo square and right in the historic centre. Beautiful rooms and I will definitely stay here again.
Nothing - all great

The staff, they were incredible very attentive and professional
everything was wonderful.

Friendly, helpful staff, gorgeous building and well appointed. Restaurant is a hidden gem. Very comfortable and cozy.
Room had slight repairs needed (toilet paper holder falling off wall, shower leaking).
4.5
Super nice hotel, very nice and supportive staff and great location. The rooms are big, very clean and have a modern style in an old renovated building. The restaurant is great and they have fantastic cocktails. Try the Hernan Cortez... Also the breakfast is fantastic.
Nothing to mention.

Staff were amazingly helpful, could not fault them at all. Went above and beyond to help with so many details that made us feel truly welcome and organised a great trip to teotihuacan. Will certainly return if we make it back to Mexico

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Quiet spot just off main roads. Walking distance to Zocalo and museums.
Very good housekeeping and clean facilities.
Breakfast was lovely.
Room toilet has an opening between door and ceiling so not very private

Beautiful history of the building and the location was close to the Zocola square so you could walk to sooo much. Amazing location. Cool building at the staff were so friendly!
Only thing but it’s the style is the door, as cool as it is. Felt it wasn’t that private built did have shutter doors . It was interesting? Never seen anything like it before. It wasn’t I didn’t like it, it was just different

The food was top-notch. Great service, beautiful architecture, modern amenities, excellent location.

Amazing architecture and grounds. Beautiful and historic building in a prime location. Wonderful and accommodating staff, from the breakfast/restaurant folks to concierge and housekeeping, everyone was excellent 👌
Rosaleda club next door goes HARD til 5 am Friday and Saturday. Even with ear plugs, the music penetrates your ears. No rest two days in a row was debilitating. The view wasn't worth the money. I would stay here again, but DON'T upgrade to a room with a view/balcony, an interior room is great or just don't stay on the weekend and get the room with a window. That's my two cents (pesos 😉)

historical building
The breakfast was awful in both food and service .
I was really disappointed

amazing building !! and rooms. staff and service excellent! the best breakfast and restaurant hands down !!!! I am a foodie and travel a lot: I was blown away.
didn’t love the general area. too busy but if you want to be in the main square, then it’s a plus.

Great location. Staff is nice and they try hard. Charming hotel and design.
So many things. Paperthin doors, you wake up easily from staff and noise, also they have to change their keys, very unfriendly for use, and you need to try three to four times to open the door, also leaving the bulky key at reception always takes a few minutes for them to retrieve. Breakfast is very poor, and very limited.

Breakfast was AMAZING with a full menu to order from, great local food options, fresh fruits and juices every morning The staff was super nice and helpful. The hotel is stunning in a 500-yr old building that was beautifully renovated. The room was big and beautiful.
The windows are original ones with a wooden frame, beautiful, but dont close / soundproof well. The little square on which the hotel is situated gets very noisy at night and we were constantly woken up by trucks or people. The main issue for us though was the location, our fault I guess we should have done better research before booking but the Centro Historico is very crowded with people/traffic and makes the hotel hard to reach / get out of with taxi as we spent majority of our time in the more tourist-friendly areas.
4.5
historic, remodeled hotel. beautiful interior
some rooms have no windows. it’s in the historic center so that helped with noise, but it’s always nice to have a view

Amazing breakfast, great selection and fresh!

Casa de la Luz is such a stunning surprise. the combination of luxury and 500 years of history. we were blown away.

The historic hotel and rooms are beautiful. Service is very good. They helped us with. private driver for one of our days. Breakfast is good and so is the restaurant.
I would not suggest booking a balcony room. While it was a nice size, since the balcony doors were not very soundproof, the street noise was bothersome when trying to sleep.

An excellent property! Beautiful regional decor, wonderful staff, great location. Will stay there again!
Our room was large and beautiful but had no window to the outdoors. No way to know when daylight approached. That is LITERALLY my only complaint. Next time I'll request a room on the outside.

Beautiful hotel, great breakfast, and wonderful staff
We were in a large, beautiful room facing the street and there was a nightclub in the same square with blasting music until 4am one night. Thankfully hotel had ear plugs but still pretty extreme noise late night.
4.5
the building itself is super nice and breathtaking
the place is far from being 5 stars. they have a restaurant that turns into nightclub inside the hotel just next to the rooms. On those nights you cannot get any sleep, they should really decide wether they are a hotel or a nightclub.
the bathroom had a funny smell. The cleaning ladies never changed the towels and tissues.. we were left with none at some point.
one of my necklaces got stolen.
the restaurant is less than average and overpriced.

The property itself was beautiful and really clean. The staff were also so helpful, we throughly enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was delicious too and included in the rate.
Nothing really
