Can’t complain about the house or location. VRBO’s listed checkin code was wrong. Emailed owner he didn’t respond did a few hours but we had already gotten in through an unlocked upper level door. Also realtor showed up for an open house during our stay and was told it was ok. It was not ok with us. She nicely left. Ants still an issue.

We were greeted with splotchy discolored stucco construction material, that looked as if someone had thrown it onto the front of the house in a hurry. In addition there were two brownish splotches that decorated either side of the garage, as if someone had thrown giant mud pis at the building. Entering, we found ants squirming allover the granite breakfast bar. We quickly bought 7 Tera ant traps, which were filled by the third day. The furniture showing in the picture on the website, appeared to have been hacked by a madman with a knife. The cushions and back of the black sofa, had giant gashes all over, and if someone had been murdered there. The accompanying Rattan chair was missing a seat covering, only the bare pillow was there. Ugly plastic flowers and trees adorned the large living room. The sliding door to the outside, had a ripped screen hanging from it. Since we were having friends and relatives join us later in the week, I attempted to pull the screen over so , my husband and I would not be embarrassed by the "drug dealer" facade that the house gave . Going outside to the landing to attempt to fix the screen, I found an area which was not even level, but rather was pitched at perhaps a 40 degree angle. I lost my balance on the landing and grabbed the railing for stabilization, only to find that the railing was broken and came easily away from the other part of the railing. This is not made up. There was also a broken spindle on the stairway going upstairs. Only 2 of the 4 toilets worked. The others, when flushed came perilously close to over flowing.. There were only 2 stools near the breakfast bar and no kitchen table, nor anywhere else to sit and have a meal. The dining room consisted of a sectional couch with a broken leg and a broken TV leaning against the wall. We found another stool on one of the outside porches and dragged it downstairs to the breakfast bar. The "porches" were dirt one piece of outdoor furniture, a giant dead plant and a folding chair. The porches all faced the house next door, which was under construction(noise every minute of every day) Needless to say, we never used them The" fully stocked kitchen had two disgusting rusted frying pans plus ancient looking pot for boiling water, and three small sauce pans. Two butter knives were found and 4 forks. The Ants apparently did not like our attempt to eliminate them from the kitchen. They moved to the bathroom and crawled over toilet

Unfortunately, the host made a mistake with our reservation and double-booked the house, so upon arrival, the house was already occupied. The host did admit his mistake after I explained, and he offered us three alternative properties instead. However, the other properties were remodeled commercial properties in sketchy parts of downtown Atlantic City. We ended up getting a hotel room for the two nights the place was double-booked. After much back and forth, the host finally agreed to compensate us for the trouble and ended up reimbursing the nights he double-booked and comping one night we did stay at the house. The entire ordeal was very stressful and unnerving.
The house itself is as pictured, though it could have been a little cleaner and the kitchen could have been more well-stocked. If you plan to cook your own meals, beware that only stovetop items are provided and nothing for the oven.

Large House in Quiet Area
Nice neighborhood, easily accessible, plenty of room for activities.

Almost a 5 star rental
Great communication and hospitality, however the cleaning staff is lacking. there was an ant problem but the owner was quick to drop off a remedy and he also had amazon ship ant buttons which helped a lot.

The house was really nice, lots of space and everyone was happy with the rooms they got and the set up of the house, really nice place. Only thing I would say is to watch out for the ants, lots will come by trash, other than that, really beautiful house, clean property, and nice neighborhood.
