DANCING WATERS- OPEN TO BOOK 2025!!
Dancing Water is the perfect lakefront balance of relaxation and entertainment. The property offers a rare flat lot, a fire pit on the shoreline, a 6-person waterfall hot tub, a large deck, patio and private dock. 3 kayaks (1 tandem and 2 single) and a canoe are also provided for your entertainment. Inside, this large and spacious home boasts lake views from every room. The home has 5 oversized bedrooms, 3 full baths and is fully permitted for a 10-person occupancy. There are balconies, decks, and/or a patio walkout from every room with spectacular views to the water. The home is beautifully furnished, well maintained, and features Comcast's Xfinity for TV and unlimited high speed internet. Flat screen TVs are in every bedroom, the living room and the pool table room, 7 in all. The lower entertainment area contains the pool table and foosball table.
The main level is open concept for the kitchen, dining and living rooms. There is a wood burning fireplace insert in the living room, which is surrounded by a 2-story stone hearth that rises to the upper level interior balcony. Large windows practically bring the outdoors in with extensive views of the lake. The dining room has seating for 10 at the table, and the large gourmet kitchen has a center island with addition seating for four. Dancing Water has a nicely appointed kitchen featuring granite counter tops and stainless-steel appliances and is well stocked. The home is also located near several great restaurants within driving or boating distance, and is convenient to a grocery store and two vineyards. When grilling, the deck offers seating for up to 12 people. Also on the main level is the first of three large Master Bedrooms, each one with a king bed.
The lower level has the game room, a second Master bedrooms (king bed), a bedroom with two twin beds, a full bathroom with double sinks, and a laundry area. The beautiful stone hearth continues to stand out in the lower game room, which has a pool table, foosball table, assorted books and games.
The upper level has an interior balcony that opens to the main floor living room, the third Master (king bed), and a large bedroom with two twin beds. This twin bedroom also has a seating area and TV with DVD player.
All bedrooms have tvs, alarm clocks, ceiling fans for your comfort, and the king beds also have pillow tops.
Swimming and fishing are available right from the spacious dock or floater, or you can simply relax in the numerous Adirondack or lounge chairs. Take advantage of the steps into the lake and a shallow, partially sandy wading / walk-out area. This is truly a beautiful place to enjoy any season; summer warmth, spring flowers, fall colors, winter snows - Dancing Water at Smith Mountain Lake has it all.
This is also a dog friendly home; bowls for food and water and a gated main deck will help to add to your pet's outdoor enjoyment too.

Wonderful home thay was plenty big enough for our extended family of 8 and 2 small dogs. Our adult kids and their spouses, stayed on the lower level with the pool table and fooseball table and easy access to the hot tub. We stayed on the main level and my mother and mother in law stayed in the 2 BRs upstairs.
Kitchen was clean with plenty of cooking utensils and spices. Two refrigerators were helpful. Coffee pot with plenty of filters and Keurig machine were available.
Lots of seating inside, on the deck and also on the dock.
We rented a boat for the week and were able to dock it overnight. 4 kayaks were also available.
The weather for our week was perfect, but if you do have rainy days, there are lots of board games and books in the home.
My only criticism is that we had to bring our own sheets, bath towels, trashbags, toilet paper and paper towels. While I understand this represents increased overhead costs for the owner, I just think these items should be provided for a house in this price range.
The yard gently slopes down to the dock and lake, so no crazy stairs like some lake houses.
Overall, a fantastic house for a large family. We had a great time and would stay again.

This was probably our most favorite rental house ever! The ease of getting to the lake, the shade of the boat house all day with the fans allowed for my elderly parents to sit and watch us in the water comfortably all day. So many king bedroom suites made it possible for everyone to be happy. The layout of the house is perfect for those with dogs. The mudroom and extra fridge are perfect. The kitchen has been remodeled and is a dream! The playroom downstairs was well thought out and the hot tub is amazing. We loved everything about this place! Clean, cozy and a great house.

Perfect place for our family get-together! Beautiful & well-maintained backyard, gorgeous covered dock for relaxing, excellent views!. Spacious bedrooms, plenty of parking, nice kitchen. Every common area was easily able to accommodate the 10 of us. Hot tub was great, too, and the property was set up nicely for the our dog. Would definitely go again!

It was wonderful and beautiful. The house was well equipped. The only thing I would suggest is pointing out in the listing that there is an open staircase. We installed baby gates but still felt a little panicked when they went down the hall toward the stairs. ( we followed them every time). Also the propane was out and we did not realize it until the chicken did not cook. So my pro tips are : travel with baby gates if traveling with little ones check the propane before attempting to cook on the grill. I would book this home again.

Family vacation this year was 7 adults and 3 boys. ( 13,13,10 ages) Everyone loved the house. The house was very clean and spacious . The HVAC worked great ! Plenty of dishes and cookwear . The extra fridge was great for the water and soda overflow. My son in law was not on the dock 5 mins before he caught a 5lb bass . We spent a lot of time at the covered dock which was great , We spend many hours sitting and fishing . The boys had a blast fishing . We brought our Yorkie and he loved it as much as we did . The house is VERY pet friendly . The house is set up to leave your pet there and not worry about them getting into anything .Going back next year . I would highly recommend this house . A+

Beautiful water views from every bedroom, great dock and boat house, and the hot tub is a plus! Shoot a game of pool, go for a swim or just kick back on one of the decks or the dock. The fire pit with fully-stocked wood pile is a nice touch. We hope to be back again!

Our family celebrating several Big Bdays this year by being together in this Awesome lake home! Everyone loved their bedrooms,bathrooms,layout perfect,grilled out and hung out at dock often.Our weather was not the best accept one day however no one minded.Thanks for sharing with us-will be back for sure!

Small party of family and friends along with two dogs spent Thanksgiving at this property. The house was perfect for three couples and one single adult. We enjoyed the well appointed game room and watched football all together in the main floor family room. Enjoyed morning coffee and amazing lake views from the upper deck. A short drive to nearby grocery store and local dining. Would definitely consider this property for a summer lake trip as well!

Yearly Family Gathering
Dancing Water was wonderful beyond expectations! The house had everything we could ever need and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked and perfect for meal prep and cooking. Lots of comfortable furniture. The best parts of this house were the back decks and the dock. We spent so much time gathered together chatting and swimming and getting caught up on family news while relaxing with our cold drinks in the Adirondack chairs. The dock allowed for easy docking of the boat, and we loved having access to the kayaks and canoe. Five Stars for sure!!!

This property was perfect in every aspect. We’ve been to SML 3 times before this and this has easily been our favorite house. It has everything you need. Entertainment inside and outside. Beautiful views and property. Will definitely be back in the future!

Dancing Water didn't disappoint!
This was our second year at Smith Mountain Lake but first year at Dancing Water. This is a wonderful property and nicely located in a private but convenient cove. We had our wakeboard boat in the boat house for the duration of our stay and I never felt uneasy about its safety and security here. The amenities of the home suited our family just fine. From the very nice boat house to the hot tub, pool table and furnishings. Both the cleanliness of the house and the well-kept grounds/landscaping were appreciated. Only one minor complaint and that is that then kitchen knives were not sharp. Next year we'll remember to bring a couple of our own :)
All said, we most certainly be returning this home next year!

This is a beautiful property on a quite cove! The house is very well stocked and plenty of room to spread out!
We only had a few suggestions: for a house this size there could be a second full size refrigerator in the mud room. Also, it may be time to evaluate/replace mattresses - they had some major depressions! Overall - these did not impact our stay and we would stay again!

Hot Tub had not been cleaned so we lost 1/2 use during our stay of 4 nights (would not have been a big deal but the kids were really looking forward to it). Cable / TV did not work during the entire stay. Very cool backyard and deck / dock. New clean grill. The property agent is awesome. Super responsive.

Really nice stay
I booked this home for a weekend with my family combining family members from 3 different states. The home was clean, spacious, and very well equipped. The bedrooms were large and even with 10 of us we were comfortable. The amenities were great other than one jet in the hot tub that didn’t work. I would forewarn the sound carries in that house so those that tries to go to bed early or sleep in could hear all of the activity in the house. It’s worth it for the beautiful open floor plan. We would definitely stay again!

Great Fall Weekend
Dancing Water was perfect for our family get away. The lot and house are well taken care of, and everyone enjoyed the view of the lake, sitting on the dock, and gathering around the fire pit. We really appreciated mudroom, it was the perfect place for the dog bowls to be out of the way, the deck gate was a nice touch so that our pup could safely enjoy watching the birds and squirrels. Would definitely return.

Perfect home four generation getaway
Beautiful home, perfect for our family trip, ages 88 to 9 months! Great location on lake, close by boat to marinas and the state park where grandkids enjoyed a day at the sandy beach. Spend a lot of time swimming at the dock, around the fire pit and in the hot tub. The relatively flat lot was nice for the dogs and little ones. The kitchen is well stocked, including basic cleaning supplies, coffee filters, spices and a few staples. Gorgeous sunrises at the dock too!

Relaxed and Reconnected
We went to Dancing Waters for a long weekend get-away after our son’s graduation from Virginia Tech. It was a great place to unwind and to spend time with extended family that we hadn’t seen because of the pandemic. The house is comfortable and easy for different groups to find space to connect. Kids loved the pool table and football. Waking up to the sun on the water was amazing. Well stocked kitchen!

We had a nice stay at the house, and really enjoyed the games, the view, the quiet street, and the space in the house. Overall, a great clean place to stay.
The only con was bringing/renting sheets and towels. It was no fun coordinating that extra (not cheap) rental or making beds upon arrival. Never done that before in 20 prior VRBO places I’ve stayed. House was well equipped, except no paper towels. Another minor pet peeve, as we seem to use them often in rental properties. Not show stoppers, but minor things that impacted an otherwise great stay.

Idyllic! First time to see adult children and grandkids since COVID shutdown.
Best equipped house we have ever rented anywhere in the country. Kitchen had everything; there were kayaks and canoe, life jackets, beautiful covered dock with plenty of comfortable chairs; dining and family rooms had enough chairs for everyone and there was outside deck dining tables with umbrellas and chairs! So relaxing - wonderful escape from isolating at home. Wonderful!

Fun at the Lake
We had a great time at Dancing Waters. There was plenty of room and almost everything you could want/need during your vacation stay. Hot tub is awesome and the dock is fun to hang out, the chairs are amazing (we want to purchase for ourselves!) The only two recommendations are that it wasn't very clean upon arrival, which during covid, is not ok. The other is we would recommend they put a walkway to the doc. The mowers didn't come until two days before we left so the grass was very high. Also, there is deer poop in the yard so a walkway would prevent people from stepping in it!

House was not as clean and disinfected as we thought it would be and no Keurig coffee maker was a big disappointment. We did have a wonderful time. The deck and the Dock were perfect. We spent a lot of time with grand kids swimming and jumping off the Dock. Beds were all comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped with all the things you would want. We would rent this house again.
