About this house rental
Our home has 3 bedrooms (two with King sized beds, the other with a full and set of bunk beds), 2 bathrooms, a Family Room (with sleeper sofa), a Living room, a formal dining room, a laundry room, two stall garage, TWO driveways, a lanai, a 12 x 16 pool (POOL IS NOT HEATED), and an 8x20 dock on the canal in the rear. All linens & towels are included. A full kitchen with pots, pans, plates, utensils, crock pot, etc. is available for use as well. Pool toys and towels are provided. A port-a-crib, portable highchair, and toys for the young ones can be found in our home. Games, books, and DVDs are available for use. We try to provide everything you need to get comfortable and started with your stay. Of course, you’ll probably need to hit the store for more supplies for meals and to support larger groups or longer stays.
The house is within walking or paddling distance to the Crystal River Archaeological State Park and the Crystal River Preserve State Park.
We are continually trying to make our home more convenient, comfortable and enjoyable for our guests by upgrading and improving things!
Some recent upgrades to our home:
• In May of 2024 we have installed:
o A new roof for your safety and protection in May of 2024
o New mulch and landscaping
o A tandem kayak
o New towels, linens, and kitchen cooking support items
• Master Bedroom Shower renovated in 2022
• Recent installation of a rear driveway/parking pad for boat trailers and additional vehicles
• Recently renovated flooring in living room, dining room, and all three bedrooms
• Pool refinished in 2021
One of our most frequent questions is “Is your pool heated?”. Unfortunately, our pool is NOT heated, and this might make the water a bit uncomfortable for our guests staying in October through March.
We do allow pets but ask that you communicate beforehand for approval, don’t allow them on the furniture or in the pool, and please, no more than two pets per stay.
From our dock in the back yard, it is just a short boat ride (have to pass under one bridge with a 14 ft clearance) to the Kings Bay, the Salt River, Gulf (approx. 45 mins travel time), and the scallop beds where you can go fishing, swimming with the manatees, and scallop hunting. The closest boat ramp is ~3/4 mile down the road ($15/launch fee) behind the Days Inn. The length of your trip by boat is short in mileage but extended in time because of the many ‘No wake zones’ in place to protect Florida wildlife but the trip to the main river is very scenic and reminiscent of a ‘jungle cruise’.
We offer tandem and single kayaks and a stand-up paddle board (SUP) for use. We have multiple life jackets in a variety of sizes for your safety and compliance. Please note that if you use the kayaks & SUP from the dock that it is a FULL day’s journey to the Springs/Bay area where most of the manatees are seen. If it is your desire to kayak or SUP near the Three Sister’s or King’s Bay, we would suggest loading the kayaks or SUP into your truck and going to Hunter Spring’s Park. Please note that there is a small parking fee and launch fee. Otherwise, there is plenty of beautiful scenery and enjoyment to be had just kayaking around the canals and state park lands which are an easy paddle from the house.
For your awareness and consideration, we have security cameras around the exterior of the house (one facing the dock, one looking down the canal, one facing each driveway, one facing the side road, and one in the garage) to help us to monitor our property when it is not rented.
Please note that this is Florida, and you are in a waterfront and relatively rural setting. There are times of the year and periods during each day where no-see-ums and other insects may seem intolerable. Please be assured that we have put the best screens possible in our outdoor areas but some of these insects are able to penetrate those areas with relative ease. Please protect yourself appropriately!
We are very responsive to our guests’ comments and needs and try to answer or resolve any encountered issues or questions as quickly as possible. We have a guest information book available as well as a table full of pamphlets and other materials that will help you make the most of your stay in this beautiful area.

We usually stay over by Fort Island Trail but this was a nice spot and a great property. We will be booking again at this property.

This was a perfect place for our big family, there was plenty of room for everyone. We brought 2 boats and the dock accommodated them great and we also had our 2 dogs, having the state park right there was a nice area to walk them.😊

We had another great trip at this house. It’s a great location and has plenty of parking for trailers. If there are a lot of boats in the canal, it is usually easier to just back the boat into the dock. The pool is great and stays cool, which is much needed after a long day of scalloping and fishing.

We had a wonderful family trip. The owners were very responsive and helpful. Plenty of parking for the boat and trailer with a nice floating dock. Loved having the pool to come back to cool off after being out on the water. I would highly recommend.

This is the 3rd time we have rented this home and it won’t be the last. Great home in a very nice and quiet neighborhood, easy trip out to the main river and then to the scalloping grounds or the fishing areas. The owners are great when it comes to communication and helping in any way that they can. Highly recommend

The pictures don't do this property justice! Great house, comfy beds, pool toys and plenty of life jackets for all sizes for using the kayaks and paddle board. Loved the proximity to the archeological state park and preserve state park. Great for an evening stroll with the pups or a good run on the 7 mile loop!

When arriving from a long day of travel we enter a manatee sanctuary. The house is warm and inviting with everything to make a memorable stay possible. We utilized the crockpot to its fullest potential coming home to a warm meal after our explorations and adventures. The boys fished off the dock. We had a night paddle in the canals (I brought the lights for the kayaks). Not to forget the every other moment to pop into the pool. We are planning our next trip soon and staying at "our" manatee house.
Thank you Lora & Jerry!

Had an excellent time in Crystal River, and this home was part of the enjoyment! Split bedroom plan works well for family or friends traveling together. Home is very clean and comfortable with fully stocked kitchen. We look forward to returning in the near future!

The house was fine. We were not happy about the bugs - noseeums were very unpleasant in the pool area. Apparently the screens don’t keep them out. So really made that space unusable.
The weather didn’t cooperate - cold and rainy so we couldn’t use the pool since it is unheated.
Didn’t appreciate having to wait around to put the towels in the dryer either. Also there were only two washer pods - so we had to buy more because we had to wash the towels.
Kayaks were nice. The house was clean.

Our group was 4 adults and 2 dogs.
There was plenty of room!
Comfortable beds!
The location was so nice for walking the dogs, as there is a trail and park right down the road.
Everything else is only 10-15 minutes away.
Only thing missing was salt and pepper in kitchen, but that was the only thing to fuss about! 😊
Would definitely stay again!

This is our third time staying at this beautiful house and we booked it again for next year. We always have a good time staying here. The pool is very refreshing after a long day out in the boat scalloping and fishing. The Archaeological Park is not far from the house and it’s a very cool place to check out. I love the dock and there is plenty of room to park your vehicles and trailer. The owners are easy to get ahold of if you ever have any issues. Love, love, love this place!

This is the 2nd time we’ve stayed here and already have it booked for 2023. The house is big and beautiful for our family of 6 and our fur baby. We love coming back to the pool after a fun day of scalloping and fishing. We like that we can bring our boat and we’re able to come and go on the water anytime we want. If we ever need anything Lora and Jerry are quick to respond and have been great host.

Excellent property! Home is very big and was more room than we needed which was nice. The enclosed patio with pool and two step access to fishing from the dock is what sold us and will have us return.
Cannot say enough nice things about the property and owners. Communication was excellent, check-in and out process very simple. 10/10 stars!

This property is one of the best we have ever rented, it was super clean, very spacious, and was well supplied - meaning kitchen, pool toys, kayaks/SUP with life jackets, etc. We enjoyed our stay very much, and walked in the neighborhood several times - a very nice area. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, and would love to come back and stay again in the future!

We enjoyed our time at this house. The house was clean. The only thing I recommend is to have enough toilet paper. There were six adults and there could of been a spare toilet paper left under the sink but their wasn’t any.

This property is a wonderful place to get away. There is canal access and everything you need! There is plenty of room for a large group. We very much enjoyed our stay.

The location and layout for this house is perfect for families with kids. We had a great time scalloping and even got some flounder while out. The docking is a little tight if the neighboring houses have boats. I suggest backing in to the slip if you have a larger boat.

Love this area! The house and pool were great. We had lots of room to move around, plenty of space on the covered patio. The extra driveway for the boat trailer was great since the driveway is a bit steep. Loved that the pool had a deep end and it was truly relaxing. We had a great trip!

We had a great time this year scalloping. The home was great. The neighborhood is the best in crystal river. The house was clean and fully stocked. The dock, the pool, the large kitchen, the additional driveway, the lanai, and the grill were just a few of the great features. Thank you for a great time

Great trip
Everyone had a great time, house had everything we needed, with plenty of room. Very nice time, everyone enjoyed the pool, the kids enjoyed the games that were there, and the dock was perfect. Check in was very easy, had very minor problem and said we were ok. But their handyman showed up shortly and took care of it. Jerry and Lora were very helpful and ensured our stay was perfect. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a place on the water in Crystal River.

Wonderful family vacation
The house was so roomy and had everything we needed. I loved the fact that it was on the canal and had a pool. There was plenty of room for all of us to stretch out. We had 2 that were 16 and a 20, 26, 27, 47, and 50 year old. Lora was a great hostess and answered any questions we had. Definitely recommend!!!

Photos don't do it justice
We were pleasantly surprised when we walked into the door. This place was HUGE! We loved how everything was labeled, this helped tremendously. There was plenty of space to spread out and not be on top of each other, but still enjoy being there together. The pool was wonderful and perfect for us. The house was VERY well stocked. We will be back!

Great place if you take your boat. Lots of fishing and easy to manage in the canal.
House was best stocked I have ever stayed at. Toys and games for all ages. Only thing that I would add is a fish cleaning area and maybe some bikes. Otherwise great
