Surrounding area:
What’s so great about the ‘Tall Trees Cabin’ is that you’re literally minutes away from EVERYTHING, yet you feel like you’re miles away from it all.
A short drive, bike ride, or walk takes you to the beach for sunning, swimming, beach volleyball and many barbecue/picnic table areas for fun beach time. There are also lots of large trees to provide you with shade if you’re worried about taking in too much sun. Other beautiful beaches close by are Kings Beach, Tahoe Vista Beach, Sand Beach, and my favorite, Sand Harbor.
Walk to a trailhead that meanders through the woods to North Tahoe Regional Park and a Treetop Adventure course. Or in the winter months grab your X-C skis and make your way over to the Nordic Center located there as well. The walking/biking trails will also lead you to Moondunes Beach, one of the most beautiful hidden white sand beaches on the lake.
Walk or ride your bike to Spindleshanks where they have one of the best Happy Hours (7 days a week!!!) on the North Shore. And then you don’t have to worry about drinking and driving as it’s a 15 minute walk away…. Or go there for breakfast or lunch. They even have a large outdoor deck overlooking the golf course. Walk/ride/or Uber your way to many other appealing restaurants, shops, café’s located in Kings Beach... a few minutes away. The casinos are located right on the Nevada/California border which is a 5 minute drive away as well.
Hop on the bus for a quick ride to Northstar, just 10 minutes away or head out to Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Diamond Peak, Mount Rose or Homewood for some winter skiing and riding or hiking and biking in the summer.
The Old Brockway Golf course is a block away. This is a historic golf course, enjoyed by Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.
You will find the cabin has a basket full of tourist information for you to peruse through so you can get the most out of your visit, including maps, bike/ski/boat/kayak/SUP rental info as well as restaurant menus. There will also be provided a current Tahoe-Truckee Weekly on the coffee table where up-to-date events are listed.
Please read the "IMPORTANT" notes below and familiarize yourself with the house and county rules. By booking our cabin, you certify that you agree with the rules and will follow them. We respect our neighbors and the county's efforts to balance short-rentals with the local quality of life that makes Tahoe such a special place. Loud, rowdy guests or groups that at any point exceed the occupancy limit will be removed and fined.

This home was spotlessly clean, in a perfect location close to restaurants and Northstar. We stayed here cozy and warm during the blizzard of the season! The hosts went above and beyond to assist us and answer all of our many questions. The well-equipped kitchen, comfy beds, and many personal touches throughout the home did not go unnoticed, truly making this property feel like a home away from home. Highly recommend! We would love to stay here again. Thank you for a beautiful stay.

We absolutely loved everything about our stay here. The cabin was the perfect size for us (four adults plus two young girls). It had everything we needed and more. Susan was the perfect host - providing clear instructions on checking in and making sure we had everything we needed for a fantastic stay. It's clear she takes excellent care of the cabin and the guests that stay there. The girls especially loved the lights in the bunk beds and we all had fun completing the puzzles and playing games in the evening after a fun day of sledding / hiking. Our time flew by, and we were all sad to leave - we will be back to this cozy cabin. Thank you so much for everything - it was the perfect spot for us to welcome in the New Year.

We drove from Oakland to Sacramento where my sister-in-law and her husband arrived via Amtrak from Oklahoma. We arrived at the cabin after spending extra time getting over Donner Summit because of snow. A quick text to Susan for the door code and we were in! ( I had managed to lose it despite all the e-mails Susan had sent!) The cabin is very well-appointed and comfortable. The furnace, and the gas stove in the living room kept us warm. We did a little baking, made breakfast and dinner and found everything we needed in the well-equipped kitchen. The cabin is just right for 4 adults or a family. You couldn't ask for a better location, it's walking distance to the beach and everything else. We loved our stay and hope to visit again!

Susan’s farmhouse is conveniently located just uphill from all the fun at Kings Beach. It was decked out with all the amenities you need; even a garage to stow away the car during the stay.
Susan’s attention to detail shows with the abundance of area resources at the farmhouse, its cleanliness and her communicativeness leading up to our arrival. We appreciated it all and made for a wonderful long weekend in Tahoe.

The dedication to hospitality and pride for Lake Tahoe came through all aspects of our stay at the Tall Trees cabin.
Excellent communication with Susan before and during our stay made the check in and check out process smooth as can be.
You can tell how much hard work and thought has been put into making sure the stay is well equipped for a clean, comfortable and relaxing stay. The guide Susan provides is detailed and full of great Tahoe knowledge.
The property is close to Kings Beach, Old Brockway Golf Course, hiking trails and a plethora of restaurants. With lots to do, nothing beat coming back to Tall Trees to wind down for the night.
Absolutely recommend it!

I cannot say enough good things about this property! The cabin is beautiful, well appointed and super cozy! Our family of three stayed there for four nights and we all loved it. The beds are very comfortable and the owners have thought of everything to make for an effortless stay--truly everything! The owners are also extremely responsive, accommodating and full of good suggestions. The property location is easy to find and very convenient for skiing, dining, shopping, etc. We very much look forward to returning for future visits to the area!

Just pack your Toothbrush & toothpaste
This home has all the amenities. The only thing you need is your toothbrush & toothpaste. The pictures do not do this place justice. Everything is upgraded. We loved the deck. Comfortable seating with a water feature and fire pit. Great Wi-Fi internet connection. We were able to remote work with no hiccups. The owners were excellent to communicate with and extremely hospitable. We hope to stay here again.

Delightful Tahoe Getaway
Thoroughly enjoy this little gem in Tahoe Vista. Walking distance to grocery, dining, and North Tahoe Beach (which was a huge benefit during a rather busy week at the beach due to the 4th of July crowd).
Kitchen was incredibly well equipped. We have two children and cook quite frequently. Everything we needed (plus more) was available to prepare meals. Very clean and spacious kitchen.
Bedrooms were very clean and spacious for our family of 4. Fans in the bedrooms helped in the late afternoons/evenings.
Communication and suggestions on dining, hikes, beach access, etc from Susan were greatly appreciated. Really helped us navigate our first family Tahoe trip to be a wonderful success.
We hope to stay here again in the future!

Great house, good location
Everything is clean, nice, newly renovated and comfortable. It has everything you need to have a good time in a great place. Location to town is close enough and centrally located for Truckee and the whole north shore.

Great getaway
Very clean, host very helpful and responsive. Wish the Teflon pans weren't so scratched up, but pretty much on par with other vacation homes we've seen. Kids had fun in the backyard with some snow. Wish it was a little farther away from the street but the sound didn't bother us so much. Would stay here again!

Great central location!
Our family of four had an awesome summer stay at the Tall Trees Cabin! The cabin was very clean and well equipped. Our host, Susan, was on top of every detail and clear and responsive with all communication and questions. Being right off the 267 made it easy to access everything in the area. Plenty of food and groceries close by and Truckee is an easy drive if you want more restaurant choices. We had great beach days at China Cove at Donner Lake and discovered a beautiful little cove and Cave Rock Tahoe Nevada State Park. The south end is like a mini Sand Harbor with piles of granite boulders to paddle around and explore just off shore (limited parking at this beach keeps the crowd factor way down). The cabin was also only about 30 minutes from Stampede Reservoir were we enjoyed a glassy morning of wake boarding with Truckee Watersports. We hope to stay here again, maybe for some winter fun next time. Thanks again Susan for everything!

Perfect weekend getaway!
Our party of four (two adults, two teens) really enjoyed our weekend stay at this property! The home is nicely appointed, with a fresh update to the kitchen and bathrooms. The bedrooms were larger than expected, providing us with plenty of space to stretch out. Lots of windows and loads of natural light. We enjoyed the side/backyard deck with outdoor seating (and grill). The home was closer to a busy road than we realized it would be, but that did not affect our stay. We really enjoyed the walking/hiking trails nearby, no need to drive to get to the trails.
Owner Susan was great to work with and flexible with our needs. We loved the home and hope next time we can plan a longer stay!

Amazing Stay!
Susan is an amazing host and I cannot recommend her cabin more! She was extremely responsive and gave great recommendations for things to do near the cabin. Everything was just as great (and clean!) as in the pictures and her attention to detail is so impressive. We had a wonderful time cooking in the fully stocked kitchen, eating outside on the deck, and sitting by the fireplace. The cabin is walking distance to the beach and great restaurants as well as beautiful trails, which we enjoyed. It was exactly what my group was looking for and we can’t wait to return!

Lovely Tahoe Escape
Stayed here with my Family for their first visit to Lake Tahoe. Everything was just as described in the listing, house was clean, and everything we needed was ready to go! The deck out back was the perfect place to grill and have a meal outside. Location was perfect, a short 5 minute drive from King's Beach and access to several local restaurants. Also it was AMAZING to have the umbrella and beach chairs available since my family traveled light so that was a huge plus for us. Would love to stay here again and thank you for helping us fall in love with Lake Tahoe and your cabin!

Too Short Sweet Stay
We had a wonderful 2 night stay at Susan and Neal’s cozy cabin. Beautifully decorated and updated, we were happy just hanging out there. Everything included for longer stays- even beach chairs, towels, and umbrella for the lake. Handy location, walking distance to the lake, shops, and hiking trails. Susan was great to work with- very responsive and helpful. Wouldn’t hesitate to book this special place in the future!

Perfect mini-vaca
We were only able to stay one night but this little place is the perfect getaway! The layout is exactly what we’ve been looking for in a house in the area, it’s near the slopes and the hostess Susan was incredibly accommodating! Only thing was it’s situated right in the corner of a busy highway and the traffic runs all night long. However, it’s not as loud in the bedrooms. We’ll be back for sure!

super-clean cabin with amazing amenities
we stayed for two nights and were super-impressed by the cleanliness and the positive energy in the house. The attention to details and the quality of amenities were amazing and we felt being home during our stay. Susan was very helpful in coordinating the checkin/checkout process and she was always accessible in case we needed something. The location was also ideal within short distance of Northstar and Squaw Valley resorts. I'd definitely stay again at this cabin and strongly recommend it to others.

Great place to stay
TL DR version: Clean, updated 2BR 2BA home with everything you need that's 1 minute to King's Beach and 10 minutes from Northstar.
The rest. We've rented a lot of places over the years, and many are not what they seem to be, things are missing or don't work, and it's hard to get hold of the owners if there is a problem.
This place was really well equipped, everything was new, they went way out of their way to be helpful and accommodating, and even had a little chalkboard welcoming us, a welcome basket of treats, a heater on in the garage to keep your ski equipment, and very easy to understand instructions on what to do before leaving. One of the bedrooms has 2 bunk beds, so it's perfect for a family vacation and was reasonable, too.
