Central location with sea view
Access is tricky as it’s on quite an incline however it’s worth it

Very simple, but clean, comfortable and you couldn’t get more central! Beautiful garden space for a drink in the sun.
Nothing, everything great!

Great location pretty garden
Home could do with a little TLC

Great location.
Minimal facilities for travellers/ walkers staying over night.
Only one and a half toilets rolls for four people! Second small towel not big enough for hair wrap.
No supplies for making the stay pleasant/easy. For example most places have at the least: salt and pepper, a few teabags, Coffee sachets, shower gel and even a pint of milk in the fridge would have been helpful.
Also the bathroom window did not shut so the property was not secure overnight. ( we did contact the office and they did send someone over to fix it but after opening window again it would not shut)
Mattresses on the bunk beds were quite soft and uncomfortable.

No recycle help ended up taking home as walk around salcombe looking for it

The location and relative privacy.
Like so many places I have stayed in Britain it was a little funky. But, then that is the UK isn’t it?
When one considers the vintage of many accommodations there and how many times they have been remodeled and repurposed it is any wonder they’re a little weird. That is the charm of a place like Salcombe and England in general. Fortunately, there were some outstanding staff in the local office of Cottage and Country who could sort it all out for us.

well located in the centre of town. it was well equipped, cosy and very clean. everything worked as it should and we had no concerns at all.
There was nothing to dislike here.

Aune Cottage was perfect for me. I personally wouldn't choose to stay here during busy times as I think it could get a little noisy. But during March, it was quiet, within walking distance to everywhere I wanted to go.
I already knew before I went that parking would be a little tricky, although not the case during March. For anyone that doesn't know Salcombe, and plans on going during medium to high season, you would do well do look at this carefully when booking this cottage. It was not a problem for me, but may be for others.

parking so far away

The place was very comfortable and the location was superb. It is really good to have the outside space even if a little on top of the neighbour.
There was no WIFI and the fact there was nothing in the kitchen on arrival like milk or bread, something we have experienced in most other places. I guess this is more a reflection of the management company.

my review
1 CD music player does not work
2 Blue ray does not work on equipment
3 NO WIFI which is a real pain
4 stair case steps v deep at 23cm
5 bathroom on ground floor which is a shame as bedrooms on the floor above
6 40 books paperbacks and hardbacks which should be removed because of COVID.
7 Leaflets for the same reason.
8 light fitting in bathroom and shower fitting both didn't work but have been rectified
Location
1 No parking at property.
2 Pedestrians take priority over motorists which is good, close to shops and bars,
4 this cottage is situated on a very steep hill.
5 Great views
Car parking is a problem and a lot of hills!
from the Cottage and on the many walks is a great addition is the ferry service.
access to the agents, through Sykes Holidays which is Country Holidays which is not helpful. No deposable bin liners were not available and the shower not working. I
Inadequate advice for parking and where the cottage was not acceptable. Having not been to Salcombe before was very stressful and my many phone calls to head office should not have been necessary.
