We enjoyed your house. Refrig & freezer needed a better cleaning but really ok. There were only 4 of us. Myself & 2 sisters with 1 spouse. We are all in our 80’s so getting around in Franklin by car was difficult for us but we did enjoyed our stay.

My family absolutely adored this home! The personal details had everyone oohing and ahhhhing! We had the best time for a weekend wedding. Thank you for having us!

A weekend getaway with friends in Franklin. We stayed over Labor Day Weekend and had a blast. The kitchen was the prefect hangout spot in the evenings. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. There were some general maintenance items that need attention and overall cleanliness issues. Even with that, we still enjoyed our stay.

exactly as described, I will definitely stay here again!

We very much enjoyed our stay in the house. VRBO was having technical difficulties and so I was not able to communicate directly with the host (for no fault of their own), but I did see they were checking in regularly to see if we were OK. I felt bad not being able to reply but this link to leave a review appears to be working and, fortunately, the house had no issues that required discussion. The location is fantastic and I recommend the place for groups needing 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, and some additional couch space that could assist with some overflow.

This may be one of the most unique places I've stayed at! A charming historic home with some modern amenities that made the stay comfortable for our family. Really amazing how dog friendly the entire town of Franklin is. We were able to bring our furry friends on our stay as well which was amazing. The house had plenty of necessities and the owners even provided a wonderful bottle of wine and snacks for our stay. We really enjoyed the location to downtown while we visited many of the historic Civil War sites during the day. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful piece of history with us!

I never write negative reviews but my family and I did not have a good experience. The house was dark, had a musty odor, and was not well maintained. While it is historic, doorknobs fall off, spider webs in crevices of windows, holes in walls where pictures were removed, shutters broken, curtains broken, etc. It was very disappointing especially given the price and host fees. It’s a good location and I hope the owners decide to give the house some TLC. The owners were nice and helpful when the A/C gave out.

I really appreciate the historic value of the house but certain things in a vrbo should be constants. Cleanliness, anonymity to owners (family photos, personal items in drawers, closets etc), and updated linens and towels. Pillows and table coverings had stains. There was way to much other people stuff that made it feel like we were staying in other peoples home and not a blank slate. The lights in many rooms did not work well that gave a very somber mood and difficult to dress for events properly. No full length mirror, no hangers, odd clothing and items. Front porch and back patio could really use some TLC ie. tables, more comfortable seating. Unfortunately the photos must be very old, when the house still had some brightness and shine. Hope it can come back to life as the historical beauty it may have been. Manager did respond quickly to request to clean up the back patio and supply fire pit wood. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate. Disappointed overall but always like to offer constructive and accurate info.

The house is in a great neighborhood and a very good location to downtown. One of the sad parts is all the houses around it are clean and the lawn has been taken care of, except this one. Just seems like this is just a money maker to them and nothing more. This house could be so much nicer with some help. The worst part about the whole stay was we had to sleep on the couch because the beds were that bad, and mold on the shower curtain. This is just a lack of cleaning. Now to the good things. As stated before in a great neighborhood, everyone is extremely friendly, don’t really have to worry about anything, the owners will respond to you very fast, and there are certain aspects of the home that are very nice. Such as the kitchen. It’s beautiful. I’m not sure that we would stay there again, unless there was a major revamping of the home.

This house is great! We didn’t do any cooking but the kitchen is very well equipped. The rooms are homey and spacious. Everyone said their bed was comfortable and slept great! We enjoyed the porch and people watching. The house is so close to the square that most of the time we walked. There are so many good places to eat and neat shops to shop! The neighborhood is safe and beautiful to walk around.
We didn’t have any issues but Thomas was always very friendly and quick to respond with questions I had!
Overall, I highly recommend and would stay here again!

Our family had a lot of fun in Franklin. The provided maps and historic brochures on all the houses in the area were very handy. Our 3 little boys loved all the toys and books to read too. Very nice stay!

We were in Franklin for a Memorial Service! I wanted a location in Franklin that would be convenient for family to meet! The property is a delight! We enjoyed looking at all the pictures, Nick, Mack’s, etc! The place reminded us of a family home that we had all shared!
All the extra amenities provide by host was great! We would definitely stay again on our return to Franklin!

The house can use some TLC but it was nice and served it’s purpose. Could use more comfortable furnishings. The dresser was really old and hard to open to store clothes. Fantastic location.

This property was nestled a block or two up from downtown Franklin which was very convenient for food and adventures! The house has a lot of space! We would stay here again!

Our stay was amazing! We loved it!!
I hope we can stay again!!
The only incident that happened was we were locked out of the house. ( Totally my fault ) When I went to the front to try the door as I turned the door knob, the inside door knob fell onto the floor. It was not bolted. So I was able to move the latch and get into the home. Which I was very thankful for..
So apparently the people who stayed there prior to us did not bolt the front door.

We were happy to be able to find a place right in Franklin that our family could all stay at for a wedding in Franklin. We were able to walk to the wedding! House is convenient to the shops. The house is fully equipped! There is nothing that we needed that wasn't at the house. Beautiful old house!

Place was very clean and communication was spot on.
Franklin is great and after travel my wife and I left the teenagers in the house to order Doordash.
We walked to a bar and enjoyed some cocktails.
My wife loved waking up in the mornings and sitting on the porch with coffee, a book and listening to music.
Great spot and house is everything we hoped it would be.

Our family (three generations) was comfortable in the beautiful and spacious home, and we loved walking down main street and visiting the restaurants and shops. Attractions like the Carnston House plantation were only a short drive away.

This house has the perfect location. I went shopping all day in downtown Franklin and returned to the house several times just to drop off my bags. The house is very charming (it is old, so just be aware that not everything is going to be in perfect condition) and is gorgeously decorated. I didn't have any issues that required me to reach out to the host, but they were kind enough to let me check in 40 minutes early when I forgot there was a time change between my departing location and Franklin. I will definitely try to rent this property again if I am in the area.

Owners of property are very kind and excellent with communication. This home is charming. It could use a little TLC in areas. We loved that shopping and eating are in walking distance and you don't have to drive anywhere unless you are going into Nashville. Franklin is so beautiful and we loved the history that surrounds you when visiting historic Franklin. It is truly a beautiful town.

The property was the perfect location! We walked on Main Street everyday for coffee, shopping and dinner. The beds were very comfortable. The communication with the owner was great. We would definitely stay here again.

The property was not clean nor maintained. Drawers and closets packet with junk. Baby formula and baby food in the pantry that expired years ago. Mold growing in the coffee maker and embedded in the silverware holder. A second coffee maker encrusted inside the filter with old grounds. My stay was set for 8 weeks but I left after 6. Did not have a fully functioning sink for the first month. If the house had been cleaned you would have known the faucet in the kitchen did not work. Not a good experience at all. I fixed the dishwasher myself.

I would characterize this property is an “antique” property. The history of the home, and Franklin, is quite interesting if you enjoy Americana (I do). But not going to lie, my kids walked in (they are in their 20s) and immediately said the house reminded them of ghosts. We didn’t see any ;-) With that said the house is definitely “dated”. It’s not that it’s bad, it looks very welcoming online, but when you arrive you see it has lacked some TLC in many aspects. There is some wood rot around the upper exterior which lends a musty odor to the inside. The yard is a bit untended with shrubs overgrown. Gutters need cleaning as the rain when we arrived was pouring over right at the entry door. Inside, the kitchen has old faucets that are in various states of disrepair and no quality pots or pans. This is my main issue with any property: the lack of decent pots and pans. There was plenty of cutlery. The plates were sufficient. But with the dangers of older non stick pans and forever chemicals, the standard pnp’s in most vrbos are scratched up dangerous, old non-stick (T)pans and this rental was no different. My suggestion is please organize the kitchen and get some new pots/pans. Clear out the pantry/drawers of old stuff and leave it organized/empty for the guests. Remove old, expires oils and spices, and make sure the gifted snacks are not expired too. All of this can make people sick. The living area has a comfortable sofa! The bedrooms have older beds and the linens/bed coverings are a mishmash of things….not necessarily bad but not necessarily what one might expect in a rental. The linens in the master seem like they are older and have seen their better days. Two of the bedrooms had newer bedspreads and one front bedroom linens was similar to the master in age. It didn’t bother us, but it’s just something of note. The bathrooms were stocked with plenty of towels, albeit older and faded (not ragged). The baths had shampoo and conditioner which is always a nice touch. The only drawback I would say is the “leftover” stuff in the cabinets for guests to use. Most of the bottles are near empty so they are not useful. My suggestion would be clean this out and discard the empty trash. In summary, if you are not planning on cooking, and if this is just a place to gather and sleep, I would say this is more than adequate; it’s charming. Enjoy the front porch swing and greet passerbys with a friendly hello. And enjoy what Franklin has to offer.

We have stayed in this house before. The location cannot be beat. I would note that since the last time we have stayed they bought a new bed and mattress for the master bedroom, and it was much appreciated. We love the front porch and the beautiful neighborhood around the house. Thanks again.

Beautiful home & fantastic location.
This home is beautiful and full of historic charm. The kitchen and bathrooms are updated. The location was amazing being just steps away from the downtown Franklin area. Our teenagers loved being able to walk to coffee shops and shopping. We would definitely bring a group again!

Beautiful Historic Home in Franklin, TN
10/10 and would absolutely stay again! There were 8 of us, 4 adults and 4 children, and we were very comfortable in this house. The layout was perfect, and the host was very communicative! Close to Nashville, but we all loved being able to walk to downtown Franklin - such a quaint little town. Many thanks for a great experience during the couple of days we had!

Girl's Trip
We rented this house for a girl's 3-day weekend. It worked out perfectly. The location is great - easy walking distance to the stores and restaurants. There were 5 of us on the trip, so used the blow-up bed and put it in the corner of the living room to serve as the fifth bedroom. The house is very nice and had everything we needed. I would definitely rent it again.

Love the History, Wonderful Location, Need to Review What You Leave in the House
My wife made the reservation for this property, based largely on the pictures and the location. But the pictures on the VRBO site used a lot of lights, which did not give a true indication of the rooms and their amenities. The pictures were too bright. I strongly recommend you clean out any personal items (toiletries, food, for example) left by previous visitors. We found the bathroom drawers filled with shaving cream, etc, which were used by others. Also, several drawers had hair in them. Leaving food in the refrigerator was a turn off and we did not want to touch it. The snacks and bottle of wine left on the counter were a nice touch but most of the snacks were out of date, so we did not want to touch them. Most of the doors would not fully close and latch, leaving them to open sometimes when someone walked by or the heat came on. I recommend setting up the pantry with a specific shelf for things a visitor might need. Label them, i.e. light bulbs, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. I looked and looked for replacement trash bags and could not find any, until I lifted the one in the trash can up to throw away. My family was not keen on seeing old family photos because it gave the impression we were being watched. We loved the location of the house and really appreciated its history. We might stay there again if we knew the bathrooms and kitchen were free of personal items previous visitors might have left. If the house is used by family relatives who stay during visits then I recommend you state that on the information sheet. That way visitors will understand why things are the way they are there.
