This renovated beach themed 2 bedroom, sleeps 6. Private beach is right across the street. This place has a unique and fresh look and feel. From the artist inspired kitchen to brand new beds, water was our inspiration. The cozy living room has all you need to relax and enjoy the tranquillity of Manasota Key. Watch the 55" flat screen, play some games or use the lightning fast wifi. This unit has all new appliances, mattresses and bedding. This palm tree oasis awaits.
Welcome to Starfish Stays. Our little piece of paradise is located about 250 steps to a pristine private beach on the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Starfish Stays is setting the standard on Manasota Key as one of eight units at Starfish Stays on the unique Manasota Key of Southwest Florida.
Starfish stays is an easy 2 minute walk jaunt to the beach for gorgeous morning walks, shell and shark teeth collecting, swimming, sitting under an umbrella, basking in the sun or watching the most beautiful sunsets of the Gulf. Plenty of complimentary beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels in the unit. Two custom built outdoor showers hit the spot to rinse away the sand and salt. We make it easy for you to relax and enjoy your vacation.
The grounds of Starfish feature a beautiful pergola complete with gas fire pit, bbq, cornhole games and seating for eight!
The fantastic Stump Pass is 3 miles south of the property. Here you can fish, hike the nature trails, launch a boat or kayak or just relax on the secluded beach. Stump Pass is an excellent location for finding shark teeth. Parking is only $3 per day.
Blind Pass is one mile north on the key. There are nature trails, docks for fishing, kayak launches, and playground and picnic areas. There are public restrooms and outdoor showers as well as more beautiful beaches. Parking is free here and abundant.

Everything is new down to the stainless appliances, queen size beds and custom countertop. Starfish 1B boasts a brand new queen bed, two new twin beds in the second bedroom, and a sofa bed w/ upgraded brand new memory foam full size mattress for added comfort. We offer a fully stocked kitchen, full bathroom, and all linens.
Starfish Stays has eight units on the same property! Four two bedroom units, 3 studios, and a one bedroom unit. We can accommodate larger groups in several units.
We have our own private beach access, a TWO minute walk to the sand. Looking to avoid the big beach crowds? Our private beach is wide, sandy and PRIVATE.

Property was very clean and welcoming. Lots of extras that we were not expecting (boogy boards, beach chairs, sifters, umbrella). The beach is just a short walk away from the property. Kitchen stocked nicely and beds were super comfortable!
Property owner was very responsive when I had questions. Will definitely be staying again.

The unit was very clean and pictures were accurate. Had some beach supplies which helped chairs etc. only down side was the stairs to the beach I am not sure if a section of the stairs was missing but the bottom few steps were not there making it a 3’ drop into the water. Did not work well for someone who couldn’t jump down or climb up which was our case. We went a short distance to Middle beach which is nice but very crowded for the Memorial Day holiday. We did find an access a little further down one of the other renters told us about and used that on the other day and that worked perfectly. Overall great stay and would recommend just beware of beach situation.

We chose this rental because it was advertised as being 250 steps to a private beach. The property itself was clean, keyless entry was awesome and it was well equipped. There was only one problem. We weren’t able to find the beach access. We contacted the owner, they told us we needed to walk down the road until we came to a blue building on the right and a stockade fence on the left. We should follow the fence down to the beach. This walk was approximately 1/2 mile. No 250 steps! We then learned that there was an access code to get to the beach right across the street. This was never disclosed to us when we rented. Upon request, the owner gave us the code and said that it shouldn’t be too bad during low tide. We went to check our access only to discover there was caution tape across the top of the steps going down and no beach. Needless to say, we tried to make the most of the situation and walked our 1/2 mile to the beach. On one of our last days as we were walking home from the beach a woman approached us in her vehicle and accused us of trespassing on private property. I tried to explain that we were renters and this is where we were told to go to gain access to the beach. This made for a very uncomfortable situation. I did mention to the owner that we were disappointed but there was no mention of any type of compensation. I did notice that the property is now advertised as having a 5 minute walk to the beach. It’s helpful to others but it’s too late for us.

This was a great place to stay for our first trip to Manasota Key. The location was far from restaurants or activities so we drove to everything (we just didn’t know the area). The beach is a short walk across the street but the beach is small and tide stayed high. The condo was very clean, no complaints there at all. I will say the listing says it’s recently renovated but in 2020, so the wear is starting to show again. Either way, we recommend this place for a couple or small family. The owners were responsive up front and we needed nothing during our visit. Manasota Key is a great place to visit and I am hopeful we will be back!

We were two mom's and 3 teenage kids. The house was perfect size and had everything we needed. Loved the short walk to the beach. So close to everything. I am local and will be sure to refer others!

The property is absolutely beautiful, very vibrant and clean. Each unit has a nice outdoor seating area and under utilized bbq area with outdoor games. Its a short walk from the amazing beach access, approximately 3-5 minute leisurely walk. My family absolutely loved the beach and the unit was incredibly comfortable and decorated lovely. We would absolutely come.back again!

The apartment was spotless, everything that you may need in the kitchen and bathroom. Location is the best, the private entrance is right across the street, 5’ walk. The beach is not busy at all, beautiful and clean. We’ll be back for sure!! Thanks, we really enjoyed our stay. :)

Very well appointed space. Everything we needed to relax and enjoy beach time. Close enough to enjoy spring training baseball and plenty of beach time. Kitchen has everything needed as well. Clean, comfortable perfection. Plenty of restaurants/bars close by and free rides to them with "Stumpy." But don't forget to tip for the ride....Short walk to private beach area. Loved it.

The furniture in living room was not comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. Overall the unit was very nice. Deck was very small and no comfortable chairs. If you have a pet and want to take it to the beach I would not recommend. The easement to the beach is located on a property that has no pet signs posted and they are not friendly owners. They were very rude to us. This put a huge damper on our trip because I was looking forward to taking my small dog with us to the beach each day. We felt she was not welcome.

Great Start to 2022
We had a short, but wonderful New Year’s getaway. Starfish Stays is dog-friendly, so it was great bringing our dachshund to celebrate the New Year with us. Very short walk to a beautiful private beach, perfect for rest and relaxation. The unit was very spacious with all the necessary amenities, including beach chairs. Very nicely decorated. Located close to several fine local restaurants. Will definitely return for a longer stay!

The area isn't really suited for younger/ teenage kids as far as things to do other than go to the beach and they can't dig on the beach because there are sea turtles nesting all over it this time of year. We usually look for shark teeth at night on the beach but couldn't do it because you aren't allowed to have lights other than red and yellow which really doesn't matter because they want everyone off the beach after sunset. The apartment and area is nice overall though if you're going for relaxation.
