We love staying in this home. This is our 4th stay making wonderful memories

We got the whole family together (12) for the New Year and enjoyed tubing, skiing and hiking due to the warm weather. We also got to show ours kids where Mom and Dad met at App..... The home is situated with a breathtaking view of Grandfather Mountain. There are 4 bedrooms that easily sleep 8 and 2 pull out sofas and a roller twin in the basement for the other 5. Pool Table, Jacuzzi and hikinh up the mountain around the house were big hits for the kids. The drive up from 105 takes about 10-15 minutes due to the steep inclines and you will definitely need 4WD if it's cold and snowy but it's totally worth it. It gets dirty with people in and out all the time. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. Only suggestion is a way to service the hot tub.

Stayed here with my family of five and another family of four, plenty of room, comfortable beds, nice layout on main floor, hot tub was functional, views were great. Could have used a couple of rolls of paper towels and a few extra garbage bags but otherwise no complaints. Be prepared for a steep windy climb!

Perfect Family Weekend
Wow. This property does not disappoint! The property management was excellent to work with and the property itself is so well maintained and just as advertised. Perfect spot for two families and grandparents to build memories- there is plenty for all to do from the rec room pool table/checkers to the hot tub, fire pit and horseshoes! And all of our favorites- the gorgeous views from the porch with a cup of coffee. Thank you!

Great house with amazing views and better amenities
The house was awesome with lots to do and centrally located. The only issue was that we had paid for early checkin and the cleaning crew was there when we arrived. The management team responded to our issue immediately and gave us a refund for the early checkin and also comped us late checkout. Great spot!

Top of the World
The house is awesome! You have a great view from your porch. My boys and their girlfriends loved the hot tub! We played pool, which we had not done in forever and made some great family memories! Deer and chipmunks were in our yard daily! The drive to the house does require 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive vehicles, but the road up was beautiful . We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it. The house could use some more attention when cleaning, there are cob webs in the windows and a few more corners, other than that, almost heaven!

Great Views
Property was just as pictured. Beautiful views. Very steep drive up the hill. Not for the faint of heart! Bring enough food and supplies to stay in for dinner. I couldn’t imagine trying to navigate in the dark! Plenty of activities to keep you busy. Loved the pool table and camp fire. Make sure you wash down chairs before sitting. Full of spiders and cobwebs, but you are in the woods. Beds very comfortable. Kitchen well stocked. Lower level amazing! Like a separate apartment.

Fantastic property. We will definitely try to be back.
We had a great stay for our annual high country Super Bowl get away. Everything was just as advertised and the house comfortably housed our party of 8. Five stars across the board and would definitely recommend you booking this property. The Mountain View’s were fantastic, and the hot tub, fire pit, and open floor plan on the main room were amazing. The only hiccup we had was during Check-In. We purchased early check in but when we arrived at the time (1pm) our automated code wasn’t updated to reflect it. Cell phone service is spotty in the High Country so we had to travel back down the mountain to leave Seven Devils to make a call to the property manager to get an updated door code. Once we made it back up the code worked perfectly and our extended weekend was underway.

Absolutely beautiful home
This house was perfect with spectacular views. We can’t say enough positive things about this house and the rental company. We had amazing time. We just wish the house wasn’t so far up the mountain.

Great cabin with nice elevation and view. We just love the Seven Devil area - close to Boone/Banner Elk/Blowing Rock and Grandfather. We enjoyed lots of fun with the pool table and the hot tub was much needed after our strenuous hiking adventures. The cabin had everything we needed and was decorated nicely. A definite top pick for our next trip.

Parents Weekend Getaway
The cabin offered us a wonderful location to celebrate Parents Weekend at App State. The property was spotless, spacious, and beautiful. The kids (and adults) enjoyed playing pool. The adults had plenty of room to spread out and watch App State beat Campbell. We are looking forward to booking this property again.

We enjoyed a nice weekend with our family, it was the perfect spot! The suite downstairs was a great second master and game room provided fun activities. The view was always spectacular for that morning coffee. We appreciate being able to stay here and will be back!

Heavenly Getaway
I rented the cabin for a family getaway with my two adult children and their families as well as my ex-husband and his girlfriend. We are indeed a modern family! I enjoyed the privacy this house provided along with all the fun perks. The ground floor is more like an apartment - my son, his wife and 2 kids took over that area and it worked out great. Everybody else was in couples and a room was sufficient. The master bedroom is amazing! We all enjoyed the BBQ, hot tub, fire pit and enjoying nature at its best in the outside areas which made for memorable family times. The pool table and general game room was fabulous as well. We were able to visit the area activities and return to a comfy and well appointed home at the end of the day. Thank you for sharing your mountain paradise!

Great place
Great place, hot tub was lovely and views were wonderful. The directions are pretty bad though, most of our group got lost. We found it eventually. Also the walls are very, very thin. We could here everything in the upper two floors, I believe the bottom floor was more quiet. All in all it was what we needed and a little more.

The home was so accommodating! Had all the kitchen supplies we could possibly need for great meals! The game room loft was hours of entertainment! The multiple sleeping floors made it possible to enjoy each other while having privacy when needed! The views are spectacular! You should advertise more clearly how you are literally looking at Grandfather Mountain!! That was a great and wonderful surprise!! The outside seating was plentiful and comfortable and I loved the gas line to grill on deck! We love cooking outside so it was wonderful! We saw deer in yard, which were so fun to watch! Flowers a plentiful! Well maintained home! Thank you for sharing!!! We will be back! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Exceeded Expectations
Where to begin? Amazing Views of Grandfather Mountain; ample, well-laid out indoor and outdoor space, fantastic fire pit area, modern appliances, comfortable beds, nice pool table, accommodating hot tub, and on and on. My family often rents cabins in the mountains, and this is one where I can truly say, the pictures do NOT do it justice. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Wonderful stay!

Ok Time
This is our second time renting from Carolina Cabin. The first stay was exceptional. This stay was ok. We paid the extra $90 for an early check in at 1 pm. When we arrived at the cabin at 1:45pm, the cleaning people were in there cleaning. When I walked in they said they were told fifteen minutes ago we were an early check in. So we had to wait for the cabin to be cleaned, which was unsatisfactory. We tried to find the remote in the family room but we couldn't find it. The gentleman responsible for cleaning tried calling someone and did not get a response. He ended up bringing one from downstairs but we were always one remote short. There should have been a book with directions. We had trouble getting to live TV (like local news), we could not adjust the temperature of the hot tub (the water was scalding). We tried several times to contact someone from Carolina Cabins but you always get a voicemail. There should be a live person who answers the phone sometimes. Overall, our stay was good, but there were some little nuances that could have made it great ! Definitely paying the extra money for the early check in, and the room not being clean was a major source of disappointment.

Wonderful Mountain Views
What a wonderful place to spend a few days in the mountains. Great mountain view, room for lots of family and friends. Hot tub on the porch. What's not to like. A great place. We will be back.

Heavenly
Very nicely furnished home while providing all of the essentials including Lots of fun games for the adults and TVs in every bedroom. The mountain vista view at Howlin Rock is like none other. A lot of room both inside and out for entertaining a large gathering and appreciated having the large covered 2nd floor deck for the short storms that blew thru at night which were entertaining to watch. Is the 70 degree weather with little to no humidity typical for this area? Hated to leave this heavenly place and plan to come back next year!

Best Birthday Weekend
We had to make alternate arrangements after our trip to the Caribbean was cancelled. This was the backup of the backup plan for my 50th birthday. It was absolutely wonderful!!! Howling Rock is an absolutely beautiful home. We have 10 year old twin boys and they especially enjoyed the pool table and hot tub. The views were to die for and I absolutely loved being able to wake up and drink coffee with an amazing view with peace and quiet. Although it was not what I had originally planned, it was a trip that made my birthday complete!!!

Family ski trip
The home is beautiful, spacious and comfortable. We has 12 people (kids and adults) and the accommodations were perfect for our group. Enjoyed the hot tub. Played pool, worked on puzzles and enjoyed a nice home cooked dinner. Celebrated our son’s 14th Birthday and went skiing at both Sugar and Beech Mountains. Wish we could stay longer.
