The place was grat. Beyond expectations. Super clean, really nice.

A nice cabin nestled along to hillside. The lake was very quiet & offered lots of opportunities for swimming and floating.

Perfect for a couple, a lot of stairs to get to the lake, we wish the firepit area was more level. But overall it was peaceful and quiet there!!!

If you want to be away from the noise/crowds of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, then the lake escape is what you want. It is only 30 min. from the main road of shops and restaurants. The cabin was very clean with everything I needed. The back porch would be a perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying the nature around you. The kitchen had everything I needed plus more. The modern bathroom was very nice and stocked with plenty of large, comfy towels. I did not use the hot tub or the lake itself because of the cold weather. There was a fire ban, so the fire pit was out of the question. But, I could imagine spending a great time with friends or family around the quaint fire pit. If you own a truck or SUV, this place would be ideal for your getaway. If not, be aware that the last mile before getting to the cabin might be a little troublesome for a car. The road goes down to a small, single lane that is only paved for half of the last mile. The remainder of the way is gravel road with some pretty large ruts that may cause issues for a small car. My Subaru SUV handled it just fine, but I did not allow my parents (who were supposed to stay with me) to try it in their Camry. They would have gotten stuck or had damage underneath their car for sure. I had them stay with another family member in a different cabin, but I hate that they missed out on the wonderful peace and quiet of the lake escape cabin. I heard nothing from outside at any time during my visit. No cars, people, or noise.

Very relaxing and peaceful place to spend our 25th anniversary!

Everything was as expected. Cabin was very tidy and well kept. The final leg of the road to the cabin is as expected, could be challenging if in a lower vehicle as it is gravel leading up to the cabin. We did not get to enjoy the lake as we came out of season for the lake level but that was also expected, will be taking another trip out in the summer months for that. Overall our stay was very enjoyable. Went to the forbidden caverns for a cave tour and then went to smokey mountains national park and hiked to grotto falls. Really enjoyed the hot tub after that!

We stayed at this property for 5 nights with our small dog and overall we enjoyed our time but it wasn’t without some disappointments. Upon check in, we noticed the property isn’t as well maintained as the pictures suggest. Most noticeably, the landscaping was overgrown and the steps to the pier needed repair in a few different places among a few other issues. The cabin was also not as clean as we had anticipated especially based on previous reviews. There was dog hair everywhere (we have stayed at many pet friendly rentals and never had a an issue like this), the toilet had a stain from previous use, the sheets were dirty (dog hair and dirt) and many cooking utensils and pots hadn’t been washed, they were put away in the cabinets dirty. Maybe the guests before us were just inconsiderate and the cleaning crew had an off day. While all of these things were disappointing, the property is still very enjoyable. We thoroughly enjoyed fishing from the dock and swimming in the lake everyday. It was too warm for us to use the hot tub but it looked very inviting. The property is very private and quiet which is prefect for a relaxing getaway. Overall we enjoyed our stay but we aren’t sure we would stay here again. I should mention, we did not contact the property manager during our stay as none of these things were deal breakers for us, we were able to clean what needed to be cleaned and deal with other issues without ruining our vacation.

This is a beautiful place. Stairs to the lake could use some attention due to boards sticking up. Everything is as stated.

Loved the cabin and the dock. Everything was clean. The screened in porch was great. But be aware that if you bring a boat, it’s almost impossible to turn around. Need to leave boat and trailer wherever you’re planning to launch your boat!

We had a wonderful time at this property.
Pros: the amazing view from the screened in porch that we never wanted to leave! The quiet dock area where we sunned and swam and fished (though didn’t catch anything). The house itself was clean, great bedrooms and bathroom, comfy furniture. Hot tub was perfect, used it each night.
Cons: the deck steps could use some maintenance, the canoe was unusable due to ants inside everywhere, the grill was also unusable from holes, and the fire pit area was overgrown, making it hard to have a fire.
Nevertheless, none of those cons would keep us from coming back. It was the most peaceful, quiet vacation we’ve had in a long time. We hope to be back!

Cabin was decorated nicely and updated except for the kitchen. Road to get there made isolation easy! Lake was way down but would make a great summer place when water is back up.

Lakeside Getaway
We had a wonderful week at this rental. The house was great, but the best part was the location. Walking down the steps to be right on the water. It felt very private, which we love.

This 2 bed 1 bath cabin is great. The pictures don’t do it justice. It’s got stairs down to a floating dock with access to a very secluded piece of Douglas Lake. Its also the best stocked cabin I’ve been in, you can tell the owners care about the property and guest experience.

Awesome house, feels like you have your own private lake. Great dock to swim off of. Beds are comfy plenty of outdoor spots to sit and hangout.

Enjoyable family weeked
This was my first time renting a property through Vrbo. The process was easy. The cabin was clean and big enough for the 4 of us.

Our stay in this darling cabin was just a treat during COVID! Everything you needed for a restful stay at a beautiful jade green lake. The cabin was secluded & had a private locked drive way, The home was really nicely decorated cabin style & comfortable. Kitchen & bath were updated & little was needed except wine glasses, steak knives & some good pots & pans. There were an assortment of dishes, glassware, coffee cups and serve ware. I always bring my own frying pan and cutting boards, so I don't have to be concerned with damaged teflon and samonella. You will need to bring your own condiments as the cupboards are bare. With two bedrooms, we had our choice of soft or hard beds, & the outside screened porch was comfy & relaxing. There were quite a few steps down to the private dock, so if you are not comfortable climbing about 65 steps, I would not recommend this place. The dock has a bench as well as ladder to climb in and out of the water. We spent the entire time floating in the lake. The yard is set up with a fire pit, & additional seating, but we found it uncomfortable due to the slope of the property. Hot tub was nice & relaxing, and large enough for the whole family. Not sure when it was cleaned, but there were bits of leaves in the bottom of the spa. The BBQ was brand new, & sadly, charcoal, but we made the best of that situation. Cable, internet all spot on and fast.

Fantastic location!
When I rented there were not yet any reviews for this property, so I was apprehensive. There was no need for any worry. The pictures of this cabin online do not do it justice. Super clean, newly remodeled bathroom, and the outdoor area cannot be beat. I might recommend a few more kitchen essentials, but the private dock, hot tub, and tons of outdoor seating more than make up for not having a cutting board.
