About this cottage rental
The White House is a spacious 3 bedroomed house in the south of the Isle of Man. Just a couple of minutes walk away from the sandy beach of Gansey bay, the property is located close to the seaside towns of Port Erin and Port St Mary.
South facing to the rear, the property benefits from a large private garden which is a real suntrap during the summer months. Inside the whole house has recently been refurbished to modern standards with underfloor heating throughout. Three bedrooms all offer lovely sea and rural views, with the double being an ensuite. The property also benefits from a family bathroom on the first floor which features a bath and shower.
Downstairs a large living room provides plenty of room and seating for everyone and there is also a separate dining room with kitchen adjoining.
The property benefits from private parking on the driveway, and there is also a small shed which could be used for storage of bikes or outdoor equipment.
From the doorstep it is just a short walk to The Shore Hotel, a pub offering great home cooked food and real ales. The Raad ny Foillan coastal footpath also passes close by, as does the Isle of Man Steam Railway.

The house is extremely comfortable and the garden is pleasant. The facilities in the most part are excellent.thr island escapes team were fantastic and super helpful even when things went a bit wrong with our travel plans
The only disappointment was the location of the house Vs the described location.
The house is approximately 5 mins walk down the side of a road with no footpaths and across a busy road to the beach which didn't meet the described stones throw in our opinion. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay but we're a little disappointed in the distance to and safety of the route to the nearest beach as we have a youngish family.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the White House Port St Mary - ideal property for 3 of us and excellent location for exploring IOM which we absolutely loved. Initial issue with a loose shower tap was resolved promptly via customer care team.

Stayed at the White House for 4 nights over the Easter holidays on a family trip to the Island. Having grown up here I wanted to share the Island with my children. What a gorgeous location the White House was - close to the airport and main roads to explore all the Island’s sites but wonderfully quiet and peaceful. The house had everything we could want and was so comfortable! It’s perfectly equipped for a family - 2 bathrooms and a lovely sized lounge and dining room. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped with the added bonus of a washer/dryer so that any dirty clothes could washed and dried ready for the next outing! My youngest son also loved watching the rabbits who visited the garden! Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will be back!

The dining room chairs had just been replaced when we arrived as others had mentioned they were getting on a bit.
I would recommend for a relaxing place to stay with horses in the field next door and cows over the road.

We had a wonderful time staying at The White House. Everything was clean and comfortable. All our needs were taken care of, so we felt as though we could happily live there indefinitely! Beach 200m away, and the Shore pub/hotel 5 mins walk.

Lovely stay at the White House making our first visit to the Isle Of Man very enjoyable. Peaceful location and within walking distance to great pub/restuarant. Large supermarket in Port Erin. Cooking equipement basic but adequate otherwise could not fault it. Beware driveway ok for a small car, might be a squeeze for a large SUV.

Rent a car for this lovely home stay
We had a very enjoyable stay at the White House. A couple of helpful hints for those coming from coffee loving America.....there is no drip coffee maker. Also, we did not have a car and relied on buses for transportation around the island. It is quite a walk with luggage to the house from the closest bus stops. Island Escapes was very nice to work with throughout the pandemic cancelations and just answering general questions that we had. The house was super clean! There are also a few horses to make friends with in the field next to the house. Very short walk to the beach.

We had a lovely summer staycation at The Whitehouse. The weather wasn’t great but that didn’t stop us getting out on the beaches and surrounding area. The house is in a great location with views of fields, hills and sea from different windows around the house. The house was well furnished with a lovely lawned garden, great for kids! Would highly recommend staying at The Whitehouse.

A wonderful rural retreat.
This is the first time we had stayed in Port St Mary on the Island so it was quite a change for us. The House has been extensively modernised. It has a large rear garden, and a drive that you can park a vehicle on, but it is quite a squeeze for a SUV. We found the kitchen rather small to entertain from and it lacks basic cooking equipment. For instance no food tongs, difficult to cook on the grill without! Sadly the cutlery and crockery do not match and is a disappointment for a cottage that is a 4 star. The bathroom and e-suite are fabulous and really well presented. We had a very nice time at the White House, it is ideally situated in the south of the Island in a wonderful rural position.

Lovely and cosy!
A lovely place to stay - well equipped and super warm with underfloor heating. Wonderful.views of both countryside and sea. Close to amenities and the bus stop is conveniently located about 100M down the road. We stayed on a 'staycation' during the Xmas period as we couldnt go back home to Sussex to visit family and friends and it was well worth it, for a welcome change of scene. Will stay again if the borders remain as they are.
