Location, location……..Shellsborough Penthouse (formerly Shellsborough View) is a super 2-bedroom seafront apartment in a large detached property on Woolacombes renowned Esplanade. With private off-road parking for up to 2 cars, a sea view balcony, great Wi-Fi, master double and twin room both en-suite and just over the road from Woolacombe Beach, this great apartment ticks every box.
Entrance is at car park level and then up a flight of internal stairs into the apartment which is carpeted and freshly painted. The living room has a brown leather comfortable suite of sofa and 2 armchairs and TV/DVD/iPod dock. The balcony has views to the sea and is a great spot to catch morning sun and evening sunsets. The dining table seats up to 6. This apartment has good Wi-Fi.
The master double has a skylight Velux style window, clothes storage and a full en-suite of corner bath with shower over, sink and WC.
The delightful twin bedroom has a seafront window positioned in the centre of the eaves with the full view over the beach and sea of Woolacombe Bay, a sink, storage and a shower, WC en-suite. There is a single fold-up guest bed for use by a 5th person if necessary. There is room for it in either room.
The small galley kitchen is compact, but it has one of the loveliest views over to Woolacombe Down and Potters Hill so washing up will be a joy!! There is a slim-line dishwasher, under-worktop fridge with a freezer compartment, electric oven and hob and microwave. The washing machine and separate dryer are in a recess of the landing. All new mattresses in the last year.
Bed linen and towels supplied. You will need to bring your own beach towels.
All in all, the best located and comfortable family holiday apartment right by the sea in this lovely village. You simply can’t go wrong.

Lovely, warm penthouse apartment with terrific views out of all windows. Just perfect for a short break whether to hop across the road and onto the beach for a walk or to pop into the village to the pub (The Jube) or the shops or stride up the hill to Mortehoe.
Comfy and functional, with excellent facilities. Would suit a couple or small family, as two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The recliner chair with a view out to Lundy or the waves crashing against the rocks….a perfect place to unwind.

Property is in an excellent location, ideal for all things at Woolacombe. We only had 3 people for most of the week, but there was plenty of space for us. Will be returning next year

Shellsborough apartments
Lovely little apartment which was very well equipped. The beds were comfortable and the view is
amazing.The sunsets were a spectacular sight from the balcony.

Wonderful place.
Another wonderful stay at Shellsborough Penthouse. Perfect position and perfect views. Wonderful walks, restaurants and pubs on the doorstep. The beaches are stunning. You can’t ask for more.

A great value and highly enjoyable break by the sea
We arrived on the Saturday following Storm Eunice. As the storm was widely forecast and weather warnings in place, we were mildly hesitant, however HHH called us on the Thursday to advise that there had been some minor damage to the roof of the penthouse, but that the building had been checked, was watertight, and ready for us to arrive along witht he local weather forecast. The location is to the side of a sea-front property, and an ideal location being a short walk from the village but hardly far flung. The penthouse (as the name suggests) is in the roof, and up a flight of stairs that is quite steep, so not suitable for anyone who struggles with stairs. The apartment itself is a curious layout, but functional, clean, and well kept. The views are lovely, with the little balcony providing views of the sea-front to the north and Morte Point. The property is well fitted out, with good heating (essential in February) a dishwasher, a great choice of pots, pans, utensils etc. and a washing machine hidden in a cupboard. The Wi-Fi is reliable (30mbps) and the flat screen TV is a little antiquated, but adequate. We also experienced storm Frankly which made for a noisy night (to be expected!) but the double bed is comfortable, and the separate heater in the bathroom ensured that the hot shower was a comfortable winter experience. There is also a 2nd twin bedroom that we didn't use, that also has an en-suite. All in all, we had a great value and highly enjoyable break by the sea in Woolacombe, and would happily stay in the Penthouse again. Thank you HHH.

Steps are very steep, so be aware and take a hairdryer
We did find peanuts under settee that weren't ours, but on whole cleaned really good, wish the light worked over dining table been twice now and no bulb, also the big door to washing machine we have to leave open as it bangs in night

A lovely little find.
Booking with HHH was quick and the website was easy to follow. The communication was great all done by emails and all the information given was easy to understand.
The apartment was as stated, nice and clean especially in Covid times. There are a couple of flights of stairs up to the apartment but not a major issue for most people.
It is an ideal location as it’s on the Esplanade over looking the sea and a 5 minute walk to the beach and no more than 10 mins to the shops and restaurants.
The local Londis shop has everything you need so you don’t have to venture out if you don’t want too.
I would certainly consider staying there again and using HHH.

had a wonderful stay great location private parking and private entrance noone above you or next to you,penthouse is part of a detached large house, lovely homely spacious apartment with amazing view which you can see from lounge,could sit for hours looking,2 bathrooms with continual hot water,plenty of space to store beach stuff by front door,2 coat racks,washing/drier, the kitchen is small but has everything you need including dishwasher,who wants to be in the kitchen for long on holiday!there is room for children to play,no stairgate for young,but door at top of stairs to shut,its very confortable lovely chairs in lounge one is a recliner great for relaxing and watching sea,then off course there is a balcony,what more could you want,even if it rains the views are amazing.great eating options,must dos "curry on the beach" at barricane beach,or bring back to apartment,fish and chips,woolacombe pizza company(delivers) the porthole up at dunes carpark ,its the best view at woolacombe,brundells,chichester arms up the hill in woolacombe,pasty shop,and the icecream shop cafe(forgot name)does beach box.woolacombe is gorgeous lovely views,its our favourite place,tip best to stay near to esplanade as carparks expensive and get full quick,not changed much since i first came in 70s,thankyou to holiday homehunter great local friendly helpful service ,leanne housekeeper was wonderful.we would return to shellborough penthouse in a heartbeat

Perfect location
The ladies ar HHH were very helpful with all our queries and quickly rearranged our holiday to fit in with covid requirements
The apartment itself couldn't be in a better position. It gives great views out of every window plus the added bonus of a balcony to enjoy your morning cuppa or evening tipple listening to to sound of the sea
The apartment was very clean and tidy,beds were comfy the 2nd bedroom did have low beams so maybe more suited to chilern than adults .It had an endless supply of hot water which was great for the massive bath for a soak after a hard day playing in the surf or walking the coast path,both less than 5 mins away

Short surf break during Corona madness
Been frequenting woolacombe now for near 30 years of surfing.
This was a much needed break in an apartment hitherto unvisited. Excellent sized accommodation with fantastic daytime and evening views (the master bedroom skylight enables the evening star show on a clear night).
Great location within easy reach of both the town and both beaches (barricane and main beach).
Would visit again, but unfortunately not during Covid madness season as going out was a real chore!!!
This is in NO way a reflection on the accommodation but unfortunately did impact on the overall stay

A nice little apartment
As the title says - Shellsborough Penthouse is a nice little apartment in the eaves of the building (lots of beams to dodge in the bedrooms!). It is situated on the Esplanade so extremely close to all three beaches and has good views along the main beach and towards Barricane beach from various windows and the small balcony.
The kitchen is small and a little basic (no large fridge/freezer and rather old microwave) but with plenty of utensils and storage space,
The living area is OK, again dodging the beams, but the sea view does compensate! There is a small balcony with a mini folding bistro set.
The bedrooms are fine, especially the master which is spacious with a great view through the velux window. Each bedroom is en-suite, which is very handy.
To conclude a nice apartment at an attractive price, though there are an awful lot of stairs so not suitable for anyone with mobility problems.

Couldn't ask for better location
Great location and a parking spot. The flat is quite big, I think you could squeeze 5 adults in!
The only negative was the wifi - throughout the apartment there was none or almost no signal. Everything else was great. Would definitely stay there again. We took our 1 year old baby and it worked really well.

Excellent location
Shellsborough Penthouse location did not disappoint and the off road parking was an great advantage although a little tight with a van parked next to us! The apartment was clean and had very comfortable beds. Great views over Woolacombe. There were some housekeeping issues which were addressed straight away by Maddy from holidayhomehunter who came round to see us the same evening! We felt that it was well priced for the standard of accommodation offered. September 2019
