The large garden surrounding the villa is an ideal place to rediscover the harmony and simplicity of the past, perhaps reading a book in one of the 'secret' corners, or even just relaxing with birds singing.
Giacomo Puccini, precisely because of the beauty of these places and for his peace, had his Villa built here (where he still lives) and where he drew inspiration for his immortal melodies ...

Casa Sotto la Torre - Villa Ricordi - is an ancient art nouveau villa of the early last century, cloaked in that mysterious and serene charm that only these houses are able to convey.
Casa Turandot, occupies the entire ground floor, and is very welcoming with its three double bedrooms, its high ceilings, the kitchen and the living room with the fireplace and direct access to the garden and to the private pergola which guarantees privacy and freedom, two bathrooms complete the house.
A Casa Butterfly, located on the entire first floor, is accessed through a suggestive external staircase. To welcome us, once you cross the threshold, a beautiful stained glass window leads us into the real house, which opens with a very bright eat-in kitchen, facing south. Two adjacent bathrooms serve 4 double bedrooms, one of which with a delightful balcony overlooking the garden and the tree-lined avenue leading to the nearby lake.
At 300 meters from the Villa, on the shores of the lake, there is the villa-museum of Giacomo Puccini, and near the Gran Teatro where every year, in the summer, the master's works are represented: among his most famous harmonies we remember Madama Butterfly, La Turandot, Tosca .... which attract thousands of fans and not about this magnificent theater on the shores of the lake.
A beautiful and fresh belvedere on the lake will give you moments of relaxation, where you will find well-kept flower beds, restaurants and ice cream parlors ...
The bus stop is right in front of the Villa.

Siamo stati per Pasqua in sei con tre cani. Ambiente perfetto. Non mancava nulla. Grandi spazi anche per i nostri animali. Proprietari gentili, cortesi e sempre disponibili! Da ripetere!

Vacanza Fantastica
L'accoglienza e' stata perfetta, Luca e Lisa sono degli ospiti impeccabili e la loro casa e' unica nel suo genere. È' stata mantenuta l'atmosfera originale dell'epoca, ma offre tutte le comodità che una persona richiede quando è in vacanza. La casa e' spaziosa , confortevole e con stanze ampie e luminose, un giardino spettacolare sicuramente bello ora ma stupendo in primavera ed estate. Un'altra nota positiva della casa e' la vicinanza al lago, luogo straordinariamente romantico, ci si arriva con una breve passeggiata ed offre una visuale che va dalle Apuane fino ai monti Pisani. Uno spettacolo! Il nostro soggiorno e' stato troppo breve, deve essere ripetuto!!!

The only issue was operating the clothes washing machine - it is either Italian, or temperamental, or actually in need of repair?
It may be helpful to have instructions for use in languages other than Italian.

The property, the location, and the gracious assistance of the host were all remarkable and we give it ten from ten.

A really comfortable, atmospheric property with an amazing garden
My wife and I rented the ground floor apartment for 3 weeks in June 2018 and had friends visit us on two occasions during our stay. The initial impression was that the villa/apartment was slightly old fashioned but this was charming as the villa dated from the 1890's and most of the interior decor from the 1930's. It was really comfortable with everything we needed, in a quiet location close to the lake. The garden was full of flowering plants such as jasmine - really great. We can only recommend the property 100% - Luca and Lisa the hosts were very friendly and helpful and gave us lots of tips and hints on things to do and places to visit locally. We are seriously considering a return trip next year ! Thank you Luca and Lisa - ciao !

Authentic Tuscany Villa in charming Torre del Lago
Luca, the host, goes above and beyond in ensuring that your every needs are met. He is a host who immediately becomes a friend. The home is truly authentic and offers a sense of tranquility and peace. Only a mile from the train and the bus stop is quite close. Short walk to Puccini's home and lake. A perfect place to call home base while taking day trips by train throughout the Tuscany region. I highly recommend.

Sehr schöne Villa mit tollem Garten und überdachter Terrasse mit nahen sehr schönen Stränden
Die Villa ist von außen sehr schön und hat einen wunderschön angelegten großen Garten mit Pool. Von innen besteht vor allem die Bäder betreffend etwas Renovierungsbedarf, was den Urlaub aber keineswegs getrübt hat. Perfekt war die überdachte Terrasse mit grossem Esstisch, so dass man immer draußen essen konnte. Der sehr breite Sandstrand ist in etwa 5-10 min mit dem Auto erreichbar und wirklich toll. Wir haben im Erdgeschoss gewohnt, was mit kleinen Kindern ideal war, da sie gleich raus konnten um im Garten zu spielen. Der Besitzer Luca ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit und schaut regelmäßig vorbei um zu Fragen, ob alles in Ordnung ist.

Idyllic Tuscan Retreat
Five friends came together to celebrate a special birthday including going to the Puccini Festival. Staying at Casa Turandot made it perfect. Five minutes walk to the Lake and ten minutes to the town. Our host Luca was charming and very helpful. A beautiful place. Tranquil. Places to sit in the shade and in the sun

nous avons apprécié notre séjour à Torre del Lago, Lucca et Lisa sont très sympathiques et très serviables. Nous étions en famille avec 2 enfants.
Torre del lago est idéal pour visiter Pise, Lucca et Florence. Nous avons été à Florence en train sans souci.
Il y a d'excellentes épiceries dans la rue Giacomo Puccini proches de la location où vous trouverez tout le nécessaire pour votre séjour ainsi que des spécialités : pâtes fraîches, ... Les restaurants du lac sont très bien également.

Beautiful Villa in the heart of Tuscany!
What an amazing three weeks in Italy! The Villa Turandot was absolutely amazing and Luca and Lisa were wonderful hosts. The villa was spacious, had a full kitchen, and a lovely backdoor sitting area to drink wine and watch the sunset. We can't wait to return and spend more time at this beautiful place.

Amazing Villa for your unforgetfull holiday
I was staying in this Villa with large group of friends with children.
The villa is very spacious and easily accommodated all of us.
We really liked large garden and our children enjoyed large swimming pool. Outside in the garden is a large table, which we used every evening for long dinners and drinks.
All the pictures of he Villa are very realistic.
Our hosts, Luca and Lisa are very helpful and friendly.
We had a very great time living there and we hope we will go back
for nest holiday there.
I can honestly recommend this place for family holiday.

Des vacances formidables *
Une maison traditionnelle des années 30' absolument magnifique nichée en Toscane au delà du temps... de beaux espaces pour une grande famille (la notre > 4 enfants). Rez de chaussée tout confort avec un grand jardin paysagé et une belle piscine à partager avec les voisins du dessus... A deux pas de la mer, de Pise, et des carrières de Carrara... et à un saut de puce de Firenze. Les propriétaires sont fantastiques : Luca & Lisa sont à deux pas tout le temps. A disposition pour renseigner sur l'opportunité d'une plage ou flécher un bon restaurant. Nous avons plus que tout apprécié le calme dépaysement... la proximité du lac sur lequel on peut faire de douces balades... et les vélos à disposition des résidents qui vous accompagnent pour la mer ou pour les courses. Nous recommandons chaudement cette belle adresse !

Absolut empfehlenswert, gerne wieder
Die Villa ist sehr schön. Wir hatten die Erdgeschosswohnung. Die Lage ist zwischen Meer und einem See, der zwar nicht zum Schwimmen gedacht ist, aber eine wunderschöne Kulisse bildet. Der See ist recht einsam und leer, bietet aber mehrere Restaurants mit gutem Niveau. Im Sommer finden dort die Puccini Festspiele statt, die in einem Amphitheater aufgeführt werden. Der Vermieter bietet 2 Kanus kostenlos an, mit denen man über den See paddeln kann, dies bei herrlicher Kulisse über den See mit Bergen im Hintergrund. Der Strand ist im Sommer sehr voll, aber der Vermieter nennt gerne einen Geheimtipp für einen Abschnitt des Strandes, der leer ist (unbedingt gleich am Anfang des Urlaubs erfragen, damit man gar nicht erst im Getümmel landet). Das Haus hat einen bezaubernden Garten mit toller Bepflanzung, auch ein Aufstellpool ist vorhanden, der einem Erfrischung nach zu langem Sonnenbad bietet. Das Haus verfügt über alles, was man braucht, kein Luxus, aber zum Wohlfühlen geeignet. Der Vermieter ist wirklich sehr nett, er schaut ab und zu nach dem Rechten, ist unaufdringlich, aber stets bereit, einem Tipps zur Erkundung der Gegend zu machen. In der näheren Umgebung locken Pisa und Lucca. Wer keine "Einstürzenden Altbauten" mag (nur bestimmte Generationen verstehen die Andeutung auf den schiefen Turm und die ähnlich lautende Band), sollte nach Lucca fahren, das wunderschön ist. Auch Florenz ist in ca. 90 Minuten erreichbar, über Florenz muss man nicht mehr schreiben, eine der schönsten Städte der Welt. Der Vermieter stellt auch kostenlos Fahrräder zur Verfügung, mit denen man alle Ziele im Ort erreichen kann. Gerne wieder.

What you see on the picture is what you see in real. Except the mosquitos. Bring your spray.
The house is beautiful, well equipped.
There is a lot of things to do around. Pisa, Firenze, the sea and the Lac.

Great villa, good location
For us it was a perfect experience. Nice villa, beautiful garden, and swimming pool. Good location with bus stop just on the front. If you add available bikes you can leave a car behind. Pisa, Florence, Lucca, and other attraction are in day trip reach. Puccinin's villa and lake are just 5min walk.
Owner is very nice and helpful, you can easily reach him over the phone or email(via HomeAway app).He will give you some tips on places to visit or restaurants to go. Villa is furnitured in 1930's style, but we love it. It's clean and nicely maintained. You can have all your meals in the garden surrounded by copies of famous Italian sculptress and chill out in the pool after busy day till dawn. The only think is , the old chairs laing around in the garden. I suppose they have been intended to add an last century feeling , but they are rusty and looks like belong to scrapyard.
Shops and restaurants are in walking distance. You can reach beach by bike ( as we did) or presume by bus.
Overall highly recommended .

Bellissimo soggiorno in villa con arredi d'epoca e giardino molto ben curato e attrezzato per pranzi o cene. Ampie stanze con soffitti alti e il sapore di una volta. A due passi dal lago, la spiaggia si raggiunge facilmente con le bici messe a disposizione. Gentilissimo Luca nel gestire il tutto. Torneremo.

Amazing stay in villa by the sea!
perfectly located for amazing day trips just a stones throw away from the beaches, beautiful coastline and wonderful outdoor eateries. Our day trips included Cinque Terre, Montecarlo, and Carmignano. All within an hours drive. We enjoyed cooking in the charming farm kitchen and riding bikes to the beach! Luca and Lisa were always in contact to give us suggestions on restaurants, ice cream and day trips!! They were wonderful hosts! We would love to return to this special villa.

Authentische Ferienwohnung mit schönem Garten und nettem Vermieter
Die alte Villa ist authentisch restauriert und sehr schön. Auch wenn der moderne Komfort deswegen etwas auf der Strecke bleibt (z.B. kein Sofa, kleiner Fernseher) wird doch dadurch der Charme des Hauses gewahrt. Der Garten ist groß und sehr schön. Der Vermieter ist sehr nett und bemüht jedes Problem sofort zu lösen.

A Beautiful Villa by the Sea in Tuscany
Luca and Lisa, the owners of Casa Turandot (Villa Ricordi), were keenly interested in our comfort and our Italian experience. Their rental home in Torre del Lago was perfect for our vacation plans. The house is clean comfortable and authentic. The backyard allowed us to soak up the Tuscan sun.
The kitchen is well equipped for making delicious breakfast and dinner meals with fresh ingredients purchased in town. The bicycles provided are great for local exploration and trips to the sea.
Casa Turandot is well situated for daily excursions to the beautiful sites of Tuscany as we visited Lucca, Cingue Terre, Montecarlo, Pisa and San Gimignano.
We highly recommend Casa Turandot for your Italy vacation.
