Mooie, moderne, stijlvolle kamer, voorzien van moderne badkamer. Heel schoon, gezellig en unieke locatie. Uitzicht op zee vanuit de kamer. Prachtige kust.

On dort bien.

Location.
We are a couple from Belgium with a golden retriever which planned our July mini break in Picardie few months in advance.
We found the wonderful Brise du Large - Maison d'Ault online, and we been waiting with excitement to travel to this location for a long-expected break to relax and enjoy the peace of a remote place ….
All good until we have been arrived and met with the bed & breakfast owner, which did not make a minimum effort to welcome us or to interact as should really do a host which business is fuel by us the guests.
Just before arrival (the very same day) we received a strange message from the person never seen at the property during our three days stay, but she recommends herself as Maison d'Ault manager (Noemi the owner daughter) which stated that we cannot bring any drinks on the property, but we can only buy from their refrigerators.
At arrival the owner, also walk us through a long check list of what we cannot do, being very critical about the dog, knowing they pretend to be “dog friendly”.
Please be aware they charge the dog 20 EUR/night on the top of 145 EUR what we paid/night for a small room and breakfast.
So, let’s recap for three days stay we paid 495 EUR for a small room (indeed cozy) but without having even a small table, or some night tables next to the bed.
During the stay, cleaning was out of question, and the towels were changed once based on request.
The staff attitude - in fact only the lady in charge with overseeing the property in the owner absence - was following the great examples from the management……when I asked about cleaning, she was almost offended. In this case why do they charge 20 EUR/night the dog? obviously not for cleaning… so what else the dog is doing to be charged every night?

An incredible place for a romantic vacation. We, as a whole family, are sincerely grateful to the owners and helpers of this cozy and hospitable home. I recommend it for a visit and I advise you to book in advance so as not to miss the opportunity.

Warm wellcome in fluent english, easy parking, one of the best room with a view in the north of France, wonderful breakfast, very nice garden with a view, silence, nice new room with a nice new bathroom, wifi really ok... I'll stay here for a year in smart working to see the sea in all season with every weather!

Breakfast was excellent, great service. The Food truck on the side was absolutely fantastic, just perfect! Looking out the see, the food (barbecued), was simple but gorgeous, the guy looking after it is a gem, very nice & sweet, very kind, highly recommend it! Rooms were fine, good beds and vue of the sea just beautiful!

Perfect location nearby the sea, wonderfull view from the location. Also very good that our room (Dunette) was situated at the ground floor with direct entrance to the garden so that our dog could easily get outside. It's a real plus that dogs are allowed.
Excellent host (Laurence) who was there every morning to serve the breakfast and could answer our questions if any.
Good solution to take a drink (wine/beer/water) from the fridge and note down what you took but there should have been possibilities to eat as well.
There were no wardrobes in the room to put down our clothes so we had to live from our luggage. I would recommend to put at least a small wardrobe with drawers. The only ones we could find were locked. Also no possibility in the bathroom to hang your towel to dry and no replacement of towels although we stayed 4 nights.
As Ault is a very small city, there were no possibilities to have dinner. All recommended restaurants by the host were or closed, or fully booked. It was a real struggle to find food in the evening. Luckily, we had booked one evening of "fruits de mer" at the accomodation itself. The foodtruck next to it was closed every night although we had made a reservation.
Room did not get cleaned during the day but I wasn't really expecting this as Laurence was only there to serve breakfast and I haven't seen a cleaning lady.

lovely view. comfortable bed. good breakfast.
a room without a wardrobe, without a chair etc - no furniture but a bed and one very small bedside table. no reception, no one there apart from when breakfast was cooked. we were kept waiting for hours before someone showed us the room. it didn’t help that the front of the hotel was a huge building site. Room wasn’t made up.

Maison D’Ault is a lovely restoration. The rooms, lounge and dining area is well thought out and has a very bare Nordic feel to it. I believe the outside space is still being worked on but the garden is a mother lovey spot tk han out in. The views are just splendid. Pierre is a great host and his recommendations are great.
