Valentine Cottage is great sized property to cater for up to 6 people. Kitchen/diner is particularly spacious, room enough for us to have guests over for dinner. Pam and Chris were very helpful with enquiries about booking and access to the cottage, even letting us know when it was ready so we could get in a little earlier. The underfloor heating kept us cosy in the kitchen and living room, but was a little too hot later in the evening as the beds are very warm too. It’s in a pretty little hamlet tucked away in the countryside but only a short drive to local stores and Lincoln itself is a beautiful city. Just a note: at time of visit (April 2023) there was building work going on behind the cottage and I’m assuming some farm work. This wasn’t disruptive during the day as it wasn’t very loud and couldn’t be heard from living areas, but it wasn’t possible to have a sleep-in as it did start early and came from the bedroom side of the cottage. Overall this is lovely cottage owned by a courteous couple.

Perfect little cottage in a quiet little village about 5miles from Lincoln, easy to access the rest of Lincolnshire from there as major road access is only a mile away but you would never know as it is so peaceful, cottage has everything you could need for a stay even the things you forget to bring with you. Top Banana 🍌🍌.

Lovely cottage which needs some TLC. The hedges were overgrown, scraping our car as we entered. The bathrooms hadn't been cleaned in a long time, there was a layer of dust everywhere, cobwebs and dead spiders to be found. The trays at the bottom of the oven were covered in fluff. This makes it sound terrible and it wasn't but the overall feeling was that nobody really cared. We would all have preferred a clean house instead of the coffee maker! When we went to pick up the keys our car was stuck in a deep rut on the entrance to the owner's home, maybe it is because it is winter. To summarise we liked the cottage but would prefer to stay somewhere cleaner. The cottage is in a good position to drive into Lincoln. We all live in the country so know how difficult it is to keep cobwebs and spiders at bay.

A lovely, well modernised property, with great seating areas in the kitchen and lounge for chilling and board games- a perfect retreat from busy lives and for 6 adults to meet. The owners were really friendly and helpful and we loved meeting their animals at the bottom of our garden 😁😁👍

Great long weekend family meet up
Our first stay at Valantine cottage and very happy with all aspects. There was only 3 of us staying, so we each had a bedroom. I liked that there was a door separating the bedrooms from the living area. Thus meant that anyone staying up late or riising early did not disturb other guests if they were in the living room or kitchen. We enjoyed the large kitchen diner and it was lovely to sit up at the comfy bar chairs at the breakfast Bar and chat with the chef. Appreciated that although the ice machine was out of action, bags of ice had been provided. Because as siblings we eat in, we enjoyed the well equipst kitchen. There was spacious parking for 3 cars and we could all get in and out, without shuffling the cars around. We were in, in the evening and found the sofas comfy and worked well for 3 adults lounging. There is sufficient seating for 6, but there would be less lounging space. We had a few small issues, but nothing that couldn't be easily addressed and Pam was happy to receive feedback. The cottage is spacious and quiet and the pictures truly reflect how it is, We really enjoyed it and will be back.

Spacious & well equipped.
Lovely spacious kitchen that was well equipped. Unfortunately the American style fridge ice making facility was out of order, but Pam had made sure a bag of ice was on hand inside the freezer compartment.
Bed linen was clean & well laundered. There was bedside lamp either side of all three double beds.
The on suite bathroom was very handy, but the main bathroom was down a large step through the living room, which caused a few problems during the night time.
The living room was very cosy, & if we could change anything it would be a bigger telly as we found the one there a little on the small side, for a evenings viewing.

Great cottage in a tiny village just a few miles from Lincoln. loads of parking and adjacent to paddock and the edge of the village. Railway line nearby but very infrequent use - just a handful of goods trains while we were there.
Chris and Pam were welcoming, gave great communication before the stay, and will make sure your stay is a good one.
Great that things such as paper towel, tea bags, etc were there, ready for use. A great collection of useful stuff left by the owners and previous users - so much better than everything being cleared out between every letting. Some fresh coffee, pepper, vinegar, ice, etc... this obviously varies over time... but good to leave odds and ends for next holiday-makers.
Cottage is very well equipped... lots of glasses, crockery, cooking gear, sharp knives, etc... we never got stuck for anything. Great cooker, big fridge and freezer and dishwasher. A couple of minor snags / faults with stuff, but these are being dealt with and had no impact on a very relaxing and comfortable stay. Great heating (underfloor).
Plenty of space in the lounge for at least 6 - we had 10 in there when friends came around for a visit. Easy dining for 6 at large table plus a breakfast bar.
Not much nearby within walking distance, but fine for flat country walks. Shops just a few minutes drive away.
We would recommend the cottage and thanks to Chris and Pat for making us feel welcome.

Beautiful, clean and very big one-level cottage, well mantained and equipped, with a nice courtyard suitable for al fresco dinner (funny neighbours too: the goat and the sheeps!). Very quiet and comfortable, conveniently situated to visit Lincoln (wondeful Cathedral!) and the surrounding area. Car recommended. Wish to come again!

Very comfortable cottage and great for a family in a peaceful location.
We had a wonderful week here with the children. Plenty of space for them to play outside and after a busy day had the most comfortable nights sleep.
Everything you need for you stay is provided and the communication with the owner was great.

Secluded, quiet, spacious, delightful!
We were very pleasantly surprised by how much space there really is in Valentine Cottage, and the quality of the conversion is very high. The cottage is very nicely laid out, the kitchen in particular is excellent. We were blessed with good weather and so were able to enjoy the courtyard and use the barbecue several times, and listen to our neighbours (the sheep and goat!)! Very quiet and comfortable and would definitely visit again!

The online photos do not do this spacious property justice
The cottage was much bigger than we had interpreted from the pictures online, so very adequate space for 6 adults. Everywhere was well presented and very clean. The kitchen was well equipped and we were specifically provided with a brand new slow cooker in response to our query of the availability of one. Pam and Chris were very accommodating with a slight change in our booking arrangements and gave the impression that nothing was too much trouble. There was a huge amount of useful local info available. All in all a very successful family weekend.

Excellent accommodation
We would certainly recommend this holiday accommodation. Conveniently situated to visit Lincoln and the surrounding area. The accommodation itself is extremely well designed and equipped. We loved the kitchen area and the living area. The beds were extremely comfortable and well appointed away from the living area. It was clean and well furnished. We would love to return

Beautiful cottage!
We had a lovely time staying at Valentine cottage over the weekend. Sadly we could only stay one night but we had a great experience. I didn't realise from the photos that it's all on one level (which actually worked in our favour). Everything was beautifully presented and it really had everything (and more) that we needed. It's not too far to local pubs though there didn't seem to be anything in walking distance. Pam was very good at contacting me to make arrangements and it was clear that she and her family were available if we needed anything. I'd really recommend this lovely little retreat.

A lovely very well equipped property
We arived in the evening to find lights had been put on in the rooms to welcome us, a lovely touch, I would say one of the nicest property we have stayed in. Very well equipped for anyone's needs. Restaurant's pubs and food stores only a couple of miles away. We will be returning soon.
4.7
Excellent property - convenient location for Lincoln, the Wolds and seaside.
Extremely well equipped accommodation (especially kitchen utensils for those who prefer to cook own meals). Suitable for the elderly or those with limited mobility; there is an en -suite in the main bedroom. There is one step up to the bedrooms so may not be suitable for wheelchair users.
Plenty of parking space.
4.7
Lovely facilities and location
It's hard to capture the cottage in the photos, it was far roomier than I thought. The features we particularly liked were the courtyard patio, we were lucky to have some very good weather so we're able to have meals outside a couple of days, there was a waterproof tablecloth on the table along with a plant which made it very welcoming a usable. The other thing is that although it is close to the owners far it isn't actually on it so there it's very private. If you have children there is a lovely private field for you use so don't forget a ball!
It was a real home from home and well stocked, nothing I would change
The only thing to bear in mind is the village doesn't have a pub but we had a couple of nice meals in pubs near by the Bottle and Glass was excellent but only serves meals Wednesday to Sunday lunch
