About this house rental
This is where you want to be! Gulfport's charm evokes a sense of Old Florida with its quaint vintage homes and the genuineness of its residents. It's an eclectic, laid back, welcoming community. We are thrilled to share this vintage home with you in the Art District walking distance to everything Gulfport has to offer within a few blocks but cozy and quiet enough that you don't need to leave to experience an oasis with your own solar heated pool and private backyard.
The space: We look forward to hosting you and your 25lb or under furry dog friend to enjoy our two bedroom, one bath, updated home with modern fixtures and appliances. Each bedroom has a queen bed allowing the home to perfectly host two couples but small enough to feel cozy as a single. The living room is a space designed for lounging and conversation as is the additional room which is a dining space and conversation area. There is a television with a fire stick streaming in the living room and large bedroom. The bathroom is shower only, easy to step in and out without issue. There is a shower handle bar for those who feel they need the security. Experience outdoor living in the screened in patio-pool area; the perfect place to enjoy morning coffee, lunch or a nightcap in a well-manicured, landscaped yard offering mature tropical trees surrounded by a privacy fence.
The kitchen has everything you need to start your day with a drip Black+Decker coffee maker, a DeLonghi double shot espresso maker, a kettle, and a toaster. Of course, it also includes pots and pans plus other kitchen staples to make meals at home. We often have a supply of a variety of teas available for your use. There is a grill kept in the garage that can easily be brought out to the uncovered portion of the patio. Please use the provided copper grill mats.
You can pack lightly because there is a washer and dryer in the garage. In the garage you will also find beach chairs. Of course, beach towels are offered in the linen closet in the home. We like to take advantage of the natural shade provided by the Australian pines that are just west of the beach volleyball court.
What to do in Gulfport: Of course, enjoy the beach on Boca Ciega Bay with the Don Cesar across the bay and catch some rays or watch the sunset. Walk out on Williams Pier and stroll the waterfront; you’re likely to see a dolphin or two. You’re within a 10 minute walk! If kayaks or sailboats are your thing, check out the marina which also has beautiful views of boats on the bay. There are beautiful views overlooking the bay from Clam Bayou Nature Park. This park is also a destination for birders. From the house, you're two blocks from Stella's, the most popular spot to have breakfast, brunch or lunch. Take advantage of it and enjoy a Mimosa. They actually know how to poach an egg! Your house is also 2 blocks from Gulfport Corner Store store owned by Eddie. You can find snacks, drinks, some toiletries and they're adding more. You're also two blocks from Sumitra coffee shop where you can support local coffee and enjoy a CBD treat. If this isn’t your thing, walk a block further south on Beach Blvd and try Gulfperk, another local coffee shop (try the rum cake, it’s incredible). Enjoy award winning craft brews and food at the Gulfport Brewery. The Brewery also runs a wine bar called the Wine House . Happy hour is a great deal! Also, walking distance on Beach Blvd, Pia's offers classic Italian dishes loved by visitors and locals alike. The Golden Dinosaur gives you vegan options both comfort foods like their Cuban or healthier choices like salads. If you want to look at the water while dining or having a cocktail, go to Shore Blvd and check out O’maddy’s for classic pub food. Also, on Shore Blvd is Tikis and Greek food at Neptune’s. The Beach Bazar is a great shop to stop in for fun souvenirs. My favorite evening activity in Gulfport, put your dancing shoes on for a real deal 30's dance hall at the Gulfport Casino on Boca Ciega Bay. They have dance nights a few nights a week with an hour lesson before dancing begins. Old styles like swing and ballroom are just as much fun to watch with a beer or wine.
Gulfport hosts fantastic festivals and outdoor events that really allow you to fall in love and take in the charming, laid back vibe of the community. Take part in this by visiting the outdoor Fresh Market every Tuesday offering produce, food options, and artists. Gulfport Art and Gallery Walk is on the first Friday and third Saturday each month, as well. There are other festivals during the year, too: July 4th is loved by locals and visitors. This year, for the first time, we offered the Gulfport Peace, Love and Pride Festival at the Gulfport Casino.
What to do near Gulfport: If you’re restless and need a city vibe, downtown St. Pete is a 10 minute drive and offers restaurants and artists' boutiques along the Central Avenue corridor. The third incarnation of the St Petersburg Pier has opened! The Salvador Dali Museum is always worth a visit. St. Pete Beach is a 10 minute drive, as well. If you want to explore another laid back beach community, check out Pass-a-grille which is a 20 minute drive. The Brass Monkey has a wonderful view of the Gulf of Mexico overlooking the beach. Pass-a-grille is a wonderful place to grab an ice cream cone and collect shells. This community has a New England vibe. We just enjoyed 6 weeks in this beautiful home. It was one of our best vacations. The home was clean and had everything we could ask for. It is in the perfect location. Walking distance to the beach, restaurants and Gulfport Brewery. The pool area was just amazing and we used it every day. The folks in the neighbourhood are very friendly and we felt at home. It was a pleasure to deal with the hosts. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely home and experience this little piece of paradise called Gulfport. Peter and Cheryl

Traveled to this lovely Gulfport home to help my son move back into college. Amanda & Tom went above & beyond to work with me when an unexpected illness caused a need to change dates of stay. Pictures don’t do this tastefully decorated home justice. Walking into town and relaxing in the screened-in pool were highlights of my stay. I truly felt fortunate to call this home for the last few weeks and I’m missing it already!

We enjoyed this property and all it offered. The kitchen was equipped with all the essentials to make my favorite dishes. We enjoyed swimming everyday. This is within walking distance to the restaurants and shops, the beach, and the pier. A plus is that it is only a few miles to Madeira Beach and Johns Pass. We would love to come back again.

A lovely escape from the cold dreary northeast. Nicely appointed house with a great layout.

Home was perfect for myself and my dog. We had great three weeks of rest and fun! Bed was comfortable, good water pressure for the shower and clean. Pool was great, but we floated in it mainly. Weather was cold so water to cold to swim in long. It did not matter because so many other activities to do in Gulfport or St. Petersburg. House is close to the main street of Beach Blvd and love Tuesday Market! You can even get groceries, seafood and meat at the market. Gulfport is so dog friendly, I was able to take my dog everywhere. A dog park just two blocks away. People are also so friendly. We also tried almost all the restaurants, each one was delicious! We love Gulfport and will definitely be back!
Thank you Thomas and Amanda again. Hope we will have some loungers to nap with the breeze in the tropical backyard next time we are back. ;)

The house was perfect for us. Very nice and clean! My husband and I stayed here while we finalized our move to Florida. In fact, we stayed here twice knowing how special the place and location is. It is walkable to Historic Gulfport and centralized to many fun spots in St Petersburg. We highly recommend!

We have been to this lovely home before with a different owner so we really enjoy our stay.
The problem was that vrbo never sent me the check in iinformation . We contacted the owner directly who was on it and gave us what we needed to get into the house. Vrbo needs to aee what the problem was from their end.

Year after year, our favorite Gulfport rental
Another perfect stay at Birdhouse Bungalow. We vacation in this area several times a year. Until we discovered Gulfport, and this cute little house, we always stayed oceanfront over on Treasure Island. We love the small community feel of quaint quirky little Gulfport. Parks, shops, restaurants, bars, local beach, library, dog park, etc. are all within walking distance. We spend most of our time out in the lanai relaxing by the pool, enjoying the ambience of the lush landscaping, and watching our dog enjoy the space to run free in the fenced backyard. Tom and Amanda are the perfect hosts: prompt, courteous, and helpful when responding to any questions or issues.

Loved the house and location!
Absolutely loved the house and my stay there. Gulfport is a wonder and it's fun to be an easy walk to the marina area. The house is well equipped and lovely. My ONLY beef is that it's a pet friendly house with a pool and then you get there and the house rules say no dogs in the pool. That should be in the listing, so it is in my review. People who book the house with dogs will want the dogs to be able to use the pool, so they should know in advance. It was so chilly I didn't use the pool at all anyway, but it was disappointing as my girl is old and I thought it might be the last time she gets to go for a swim.

Fall get away
My wife and I rented this property for a quick fall get away, and it was definitely worth it. The house is comfortable and well stocked. The pool and lanai are where we spent a lot of time. The landscaping in the backyard provides a lot of privacy.
The house is just a couple of blocks from the waterfront of Gulfport where there are a lot of restaurants, shops and a beach.
Although we didn't have any real issues while we were there, Tom was available to answer the couple of questions that we had.
We had a terrific time and plan to do it again next fall.

Beautiful house in a great location
I stayed here with a friend for a full week and had an amazing time. The house is just two blocks from Gulfport center and it was a short, 7 minute walk to bars, restaurants and shopping. Many fabulous beaches were only 15-20 minutes away, and downtown St Pete was equally as close.
The house was very well-maintained and clean. When my friend had trouble figuring out the hot water on the shower, the owner responded immediately with guidance, even at a late hour.
The pool was such a great benefit, and was screened in with several lounge areas. The kitchen had a coffee maker and all of the basics we needed to prepare some simple meals.
Check in was very smooth, and there was an entire binder of information (policies, WiFi, local attractions) that was very helpful.
I would not hesitate to book this property again, it absolutely is a hidden gem in Gulfport. Thank you!

Private Peace
Very clean and accommodating. We used their beach chairs, cooler and beach towels multiple times during the week. The private pool in the backyard was a good way to relax after a long day at the beach. Only a 5 minute walk from shops, food, a small pier, and a small beach.

All good things!
We loved this lovely Birdhouse Bungalow: every part of it, from the home’s calming colors and decor to the screened back patio space and perfect pool.
Oh man, we REALLY LOVED those relaxing floats in the pool, looking up at the sky through the tropical trees, our lil doggy snoozing in the shade, only to open an eye every once in a while to check on his people, “Ehh yup them still in there.”
Speaking of our wittle pup, our Tashi loved running around the safely fenced backyard through the tropical garden path back n forth. Flowers poppin’, Geckos galore! Love em :)
So happy that we got to stay in this home!!!
It was so sparklin’ clean when we arrived and we were so comfortable, instantly. Great lil modern kitchen with quality appliances, too. So nice!
For us, Birdhouse Bungalow was such an ideal home-base for day trips and exploring all the Tampa/St. Pete dog-friendly parks and beaches around, as well as convenient for when simply kickin’ it in Gulfport. And ya should :)
LOVED Gulfport so much. Has great friendly vibes, plenty of artiness, and feels like vintage Florida. Beach Blvd for restaurants, bars, shops and balmy breezes on the pier, is a close walk from the house- only a few blocks!
Ramblin’ here, all good things! If you’re thinking of booking a stay at this adorable home in Gulfport, don’t hesitate!!! Thanks again for sharing your house, Tom & Amanda!

Gulfport June 2021
Loved our time there. It was the little things. Salt and pepper. TP and paper towels. A neat backyard with ceiling fan. Pool. BBQ with gas. And everything worked! And walking distance to everything Gulfport. It was everything chill Florida. If you like that, you will love this place. Also Thomas and Amanda were a text away. Very quick responders if you have questions. My only question was how soon we could come back! Enjoy!!

Gulfport Paradise
We love this house...our absolute favorite place to stay when visiting Gulfport! The house is spotlessly clean, comfortably furnished, and well equipped. We spend most of our time out in the lanai-relaxing by the pool, enjoying the ambience of the lush landscaping, and watching our dog enjoy the space to run free in the fenced backyard. Perfect location with close proximity to everything, including quick walking distance to parks, shops, restaurants, bars, local beach, library, dog park, etc. Tom and Amanda are the perfect hosts: prompt, courteous, and helpful when responding to any questions or issues. Our only complaint is we never want to leave and go home!

This is a great property in a great location.
This is a great property in a great location. Just three blocks from Beach blvd and a few more to the beach makes this the perfect location. The property is wonderful in a quiet neighbor hood and has lots of charm and character. The owners are very attentive to their guests. An example, the coffee maker went out and within two days, Tom and Amanda had a new one delivered. A small thing, but speaks loudly of their commitment to making our stay a joy. You can't do wrong staying here!

Wonderful Getaway with the pups!
I can’t recommend this place enough. It was the perfect little bungalow for our last minute trip to Florida. The house was so cute, and clean. The backyard was an oasis. The owner should take more pictures of the patio — it’s practically where we lived for the week. A cute little seating area and then a table and chairs for dinners outside or card games with the fam. And MAN does this house have location going for it... a two block walk will take you to the main thoroughfare where there are a ton of great restaurants, coffee shops, etc. and the street culminates at a little beach. There is no question we will try to stay here the next time we come back!

Cutest little bungalow with private pool!
Easy to find, easy to communicate with owners. This place is very close to the beaches and walkable to the historic district of Gulfport with many nice restaurants. Owners left detailed information and it’s a very quiet neighborhood. I would highly recommend! Thanks 😊

A completely relaxing stay, even for business travel!
This charming home is located smack dab in the middle of one of the most quaint areas in St.Pete, pavered streets, small little eateries, and shops galore! The beach was great, no crowding at all, perfect for social distancing, and vendors and shop keepers wore masks, keeping everyone safe.
I will definitely stay here again, can't wait!
