Start your mornings with a cup off coffee (k cup or pot) from a dining room with a charming wood table large enough for everyone and a perfect view or on the new second floor balcony, or on the downstairs covered patio, or the open deck! Then hit the lake enjoying paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, fishing and lounging, or you can choose to include a private pontoon boat delivered to your dock!
Enjoy the outdoor grilling area near the private covered boat ramp, then grab your favorite beverage and light a fire in a stone pit close to the waters edge. Or, hit the living room or bonus/game room and enjoy smart TV's, a good book at the recliner positioned with an incredible lake view (warning, the view will distract you from your book!) or the indoor fireplace with a remote control. Fishing better from boat than from dock. Host with quick responses to problems and questions. Neighborhood is nice and shady for early morning walks or runs. Beds comfy. Pontoon boat for us was a must. Lake is gorgeous. Photos and descriptions are accurate. GREAT RENTAL.

We were very pleased with the accommodations and the helpfulness of the property manager. We brought a 22' bay boat and docked it at the property after launching at the Rocky Point Recreation Area. (That is a short drive but a long boat ride back to the island home.) The home was spacious and very clean. We had plenty of cookware and storage space. There were four kayaks, but one had been damaged (has a bad leak) and isn't usable. The standup paddleboards are out of commission. It's obvious that the property manager is engaged, and they are trying to fine tune some of features. For instance, there is a nice seating area at the back of the house, but the setting sun is bright and can be blistering. The current solution with light curtains offers some shading, but it will probably need some more tweaking before it's entirely usable. We ate one meal out and were very pleased with the quality and QUANTITY of food served at 518 Smokehouse. I would find it hard to find a more peaceful and comfortable place on Lake Murray for a future trip.

a fabulous house on the lake in a friendly neighborhood. the kids loved playing outside, fishing from the dock, making a fire in the evening for marshmallows, and the variety of games for inside play. beware of the downstair shower. the shower door can be tricky to open sometimes, especially for short people.

Great spot for a family vacation. The neighbors are friendly and because the house is in a small cove, it feels secluded and very quiet. We had three cars and a truck pulling a bass boat and there was more than enough room to park. The house was surprisingly able to accommodate our party of seven without any problems. The firepit was rustic but worked like a charm for a beautiful lakeside fire each night. The property manager was very communicative and quick to give advice and help with every issue we had. Highly recommend this VRBO to other families!

The house had the most amazing views, beautiful dock and we rented a pontoon from them too. House has nice furnishings, comfortable beds with good linens and plenty of nice fluffy towels. Great communication and help from them as well.

Had an amazing time! The rental house was very nice a few things that could improve would be to add more baking pans and serving dishes there were enough frying pans and pots. And the grill could be improved very small gas grill so a little difficult when cooking a lot of food had to split the grilling up.

This lake house is in a quiet area on Lake Murray. It’s not too far from the town of Chapin which has nice restaurants and grocery stores - very convenient. The house itself is nice with all the amenities included. We spent our time fishing on the dock, reading books and relaxing on the small beach area, and my teenager boys loved the foosball table upstairs.
Only two items we found could have been better. It seemed the previous occupant had a dog. We found a lot of dog hairs on the couches and floor. My son is allergic to dog hair so I spent much of the first night sweeping the floors and vacuuming the couches to get most of the hair off.
The other item, we could only find one adult size life jacket and one little kid life jacket for the kayaks. We made do the best we could by taking turns using the life jackets but it would have been better if there was enough for all 4 of us.
Overall the house is nice and comfortable and we even met a friendly neighbor who gave us wonderful restaurant recommendations.

All was good, the heat/AC in the loft doesn’t seem to be working but wasn’t a huge deal. If you want to be on the go during your stay it isn’t the easiest area to get in/out from but very relaxing area

Our family had a wonderful time! Plenty of room for all of us. We especially enjoyed the fire pit! Can’t wait to stay when the weather is warmer!

Pleasantly Off the Mainland
This property was pretty much as described. It is perfectly located on Lake Murray and left us feeling like we were 'up north' in Michigan, which was great. We even got to see a bald eagle which was really cool. However, our weekend didn't include warm S.C. weather. It was pretty windy and cool for the most part, so we we weren't able to indulge in the use of the pontoon. However, the owner was kind enough to have it in the water and readily available. Fishing was successfully had (catch/release) on the dock though. We were finally able to have our bonfire on our last night and were determined to burn an entire weekend's worth of wood - and did so with enthusiasm! Chapin is a small town (within 5-8 minutes) with everything you need and we enjoyed shopping and hanging out at a couple of local watering holes/restaurants - Tipsy Toad and JR Cash's Grill and Bar were a couple of our favorites. JRs has quite a variety and very tasty; expect a wait though. They seem to be liked by many. The Tipsy Toad is a small pub like establishment and the locals were very pleasant.
They even have karaoke for those who would like to indulge.
There were many pros to this vacation spot including space and appearance, but note that the bathroom is very tight and could have been cleaned a tad better, the grill could use some love/replacement, and for those who can't get out of an adirondack chair, I suggest bringing your own bonfire chairs (or the owner may consider some for the future). The beds/pillows were fairly comfortable and we appreciated the 'black out' blinds too. Extra towels would have been nice, but we managed just fine. The kitchen is plenty big and has most of what you would need for a vacation on a lake - however, note that you'll need your own cooking supplies, such as spices and what not. A small toolbox of sorts would have been nice too - - like pliers for fishing and the like.-- just in case. There is a large laundry room for your use as well, which could be useful; however, we were only there for three nights so we didn't need it. The property owners left a pretty detailed binder of information, but directions for the t.v. and/or stereo would have been nice, including a list of available channels. It wasn't until day 2 1/2 that we realized there was a stereo. lol There are also plenty of games/puzzles for those to enjoy as well. All in all, I would recommend this property and appreciate the hospitality.

Perfect Location!
This home was perfect for a few family members to get together. The home feels very spacious and is well equipped with anything you might need for your stay. The outdoor space is well planned and the outdoor grill worked perfectly. The best thing about the home are the views of the lake, absolutely stunning on this quiet area of the lake. The host was very responsive and made the entire stay an easy experience. I would definitely recommend and would rent again.

Cute and Quiet Lakefront Beauty
Off The Mainland was exactly what we were looking for in a lakefront cottage. The property manager was extremely helpful from the point we reserved the cottage to the time we left. We rented the pontoon boat mentioned in the description and had a wonderful time fishing, floating in the lake, and getting to know Lake Murray. The property was well-maintained, well-stocked, and had all the amenities we needed to make our stay comfortable. We would definitely stay at this property again.

Ages were actually 12-15 on our grands. 😊
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Lots of swimming at the dock and tubing was enjoyed by all!! Having the pontoon boat available was a huge plus! One of our daughters co-workers lives across from your property and she shared that she loved hearing all the giggling and laughing from the kids.
We sat at the table in the sun room with all the windows and played Uno for hours Sunday evening and the view was beautiful!
The setup outside was nice and had perfect areas to sit and enjoy the view of the lake and dock.

What a view
We really enjoyed our stay at this home. The view is amazing with the breeze blowing perfectly all day. The interior of the home was spotless and the best part of the inside is the view from the table in the sun room, we sat here all the time and never turned the tv on all weekend! The doc was in excellent condition and great to tie up our jet skies. The neighbor across the street was very welcoming.

Perfect for family!
This was a perfect spring break getaway for my family of 4. The property was clean, modern and had everything we could have possibly wanted. We rented the pontoon boat and it made the trip. My son could have gone tubing the entire vacation. We will certainly be back!

Relaxing on the lake
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this listing. We would absolutely come back here again. This property was nicely updated and extremely clean. The kitchen had all the necessary items needed. It is always nice to have dish soap, hand soap, and starter toilet paper and paper towels waiting for you upon arrival. We rented the pontoon boat and that was fabulous also. There is not a sleeper sofa in the living room, so we just threw an air mattress on the floor. The bathroom is a bit tight, but we really don't care about that stuff. The neighborhood was full of friendly families who were more than happy to answer our questions and even helped us out by loaning us a hand mixer on Easter Sunday. The property management team was also very attentive to our questions and needs. This was a relaxing and worry free vacation at the lake. Highly recommend this property.

Fantastic property
Our spring break vacation was awesome!!! We enjoyed this clean, well stocked lake home. Not only were there kitchen items available that we usually have to buy when we go elsewhere, there were also games for us to play with the kids. They enjoyed the canoes that were available too. We enjoyed it so much we added another day to our trip and rented the pontoon. The neighbors were so nice and friendly. They introduced themselves and let us know they were available if we needed them. The property manager was awesome and more than helpful. He was available to communicate during our stay. We can't wait to visit again!!!

Perfect little getaway
We loved staying here with our 2 families. Perfect setup with kids - lots of outdoor space. The dock is perfect for fishing or relaxing. The house was well equipped for cooking. There was a nice little welcome package with starter supplies for us to use, which was nice! The neighbors are super friendly, which was a bonus! The pontoon boat rental was perfect for getting out of the house, and the process for renting was easy. The property managers are great at communicating and made our stay enjoyable! We would definitely stay here again!
