Newly tastefully Refurbished 2 Bedroom 1 bath Cabin 200 feet across the street from the Lake and only 500 feet from Height Marina Boat rental(Prebook in advance)Includes 2 kayaks & 2 bicycles w/rental (with signed release of liability)& plenty of games. 3 TVs (2/55 inch) with Roku and Netflix and internet access. Fits 5 people, but tight. Fits 4 comfortably. All ages Welcome. Over 3 nights include a complimentary bottle of wine. View of the Lake from the indoor Porch with gas fireplace. My twin really enjoyed the kayaks & bikes. It was a sweet quaint cottage on Houghton Lake w/ a good location. We are from the south & have very nice high quality water. Saying that, I'm not used to the smell of the tap water, which I was not be able to drink. It was comparable to a sulphur or an egg smell. Not sure if the water softener wasn’t working or not. Over all that is the only concern I had. The owners are very nice & hospitable. Enjoy the cottage & our time spent there.

My husband and I stayed for a week for our anniversary with our kids joining us for the last couple nights. The cottage was absolutely perfect for the week! The big garage with bikes and extra kayaks was a huge added bonus. The place was so cute and comfortable, and we were very close to the lake. We had a fantastic week and would definitely come back!

Great communication, clean place. Would stay again. Listed 2 bedroom which is correct but a pull out bed in the couch was not at the place as listed. Only a concern; the TV cord in master bedroom is coming apart at the connection due to the door sliding back and forth on it. I would move the outlet over more to prevent further damage or possible fire

What a GREAT space! If you’re looking for a place to stay in Houghton Lake, look no further. This is the best Vrbo I’ve stayed at! Very clean, quaint, cozy, literally 200 feet from the lake…and it comes with access to bikes and kayaks!! The full sized kitchen is stocked with all the amenities, including a full spice rack, so you’re able to make all the meals you want if going out to eat isn’t in your plans. There’s also a full size washer and dryer! Plenty of parking and a fire pit, too! Ken and Angela were great with their communication and instructions. They answered our questions in a very efficient manner, and they even accommodated a last minute request that really helped us out. There is also a smaller cabin right next door to this one that they also own and turned into a Vrbo. Although we didn’t see the inside, the outside was just as nice and clean as the bigger one that we stayed in. We sincerely enjoyed our stayed and when we go back to Houghton Lake, we’ll definitely be staying here again. Thanks for a great stay/experience, Ken and Angela!!

I stayed here with my partner for 2 nights, and I have nothing but good things to say about the trip! Ken and Angelina were so incredible and accommodating. They were excellent with their communication about the home and its features. There is a gorgeous view of Houghton Lake from the home, and it is in a private enough location where there isn’t heavy traffic. There isn’t lake access from the house, but I found a beach you could swim at (Sullivan Beach) that was less than a 10 minute drive from the place. I’d say the house could comfortably sleep 6 people. There was a lot of room for parking, too. The house was very clean and had a lot of charm. I am very happy with my stay and would absolutely do it again!

Overall a nice setting to use as a base for daily fishing trips. The only thing we missed was a game table for a rainy day respite. Very clean and comfortable.

This was a perfect cabin for our weekend family getaway. My kids loves the bunk beds and the fact they had their own room. Beds were comfortable and the grey blankets were super soft and cozy to snuggle up in! The cabin is in a great location and was super easy to find. It is in a quiet neighborhood and we had a wonderful view of the lake from the front windows. Ken and Angelina were fantastic hosts and so easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay here again!

House was very very nice and as stated very close to a beautiful lake to walk to. Or to sit and look at in the morning. Property had all you could ask for and more. Excellent fire pit that we made great use of. As well as the use of kayaks and bikes that come with the property. House very clean and very nicely decorated. Felt like coming home after a day out even though not our home. Hosts were excellent and very helpful at every turn. Gave excellent beforehand information on all that you would need to know. Will definitely come stay again.

We booked this property for a late anniversary get away. We were super impressed with how clean and cute the cottage was. It was definitely cozy and relaxing. The cabin was extremely clean and very modern! Everything you jeed is there. The couch snd mattress in master bedroom was new and comfy. The bikes and kayaks were nice and free. Very private with a yard large and firepit.The owners were in contact throughout the 3 days, just to make sure we were enjoying our stay. We would definitely recommend and plsn on staying again soon!!

Host was easy to communicate with thru entire process. Listing was accurate. Appreciated the stacked wood available for the firepit. Utilized the garage when raining and wanting to be outside. Lake view minimal but "beach" too small. A great one in town if needed. Enjoyed our stay.

The house was super cute and very clean and came with everything that was perfect for a friends trip up north. It was also in a great location that also had a nice view of the lake with just a short walk. Ken and Angelina were also great at communicating, so any questions we had were resolved quickly. Overall, we had such a relaxing, comfortable stay.

It was very nice. It was me and my nephew. Didnt use kyaks or bikes. One bedroom with nice bunks. Also second bedroom with queen bed. 3 tvs .One for every room.

This rental cabin/house was wonderful and comfortable. It had everything we needed. It was centrally located for various day trips to Sleeping Bear Dunes Traverse City and Torch Lake. Though the specific area of Houghton Lake didnt have much to do without a boat, it was quiet and perfect for relaxing near the firepit. Owners were responsive and friendly! Would definitely book again!

The only complaint I had was that we were not really near the water. We had to drive to the beach, last year we stayed at a house right on the water and it was perfect. The house itself was very cute.

The cabin was clean and the neighbors were friendly. We really appreciated the extra touch of a welcome basket for longer stays. The availability of firewood was a bonus too and reflective of the hospitality of the hosts. Things I would improve would ve better kitchen utensils, a few more rolls of TP, and a cutting board would be essential. I would also consider Michigan based items for the welcome basket. The beds are basic and we had issues keeping the queen mattress and memory foam pad together, which made for rough sleeping. All things considered, I would stay here again. The hosts are actively improving the units they rent. I highly recommend them!
