Neighborhood & additional information:
The cabin is in the premier community of Chalet Village, Gatlinburg, Tennessee and our property is adjacent to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The views from cabin of the Great Smoky Mountains are breathtaking and we are only 2.5 miles from downtown Gatlinburg and the entrance to the Smoky Mountains National Park!
Our close proximity to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park means there is lots of wildlife in our area - black bears, deer, wild turkeys, raccoons, coyotes, fox, and more! Black bears visit the cabin often in Spring, Summer and Fall. You may get lucky and catch a glimpse of one of these residents while enjoying the view from the deck. We also contract regular monthly pest services which treat for all pests from multiple types of bugs, mice, etc. Despite our regular treatments, given the proximity of the cabin to the park, it is possible these pests can temporarily enter the cabin. We immediately respond and treat if anything comes up and have found it is rare to come across anything like this.
When you've had enough relaxation, look forward to endless entertainment in the surrounding area; you'll be in the perfect spot to explore through winding hiking trails and world-class ski slopes in the Great Smoky Mountains. Other local attractions can be found in downtown Gatlinburg, including delectable restaurants, intriguing shops, the always-entertaining alpine slides, and even a moonshine distillery! During your time here, make sure to visit the Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park & Ski Area, which offers terrific skiing in the colder months, a ski mountain coaster, an aerial tramway, and many other thrilling attractions!
The cabin is located on a mountain road. We strongly recommend trip insurance, especially during the winter since there are no refunds for snow and ice. In difficult winter or storm related weather situations there can be delays in cleaning and check-in pending road conditions which can be outside of our control.

The property was in perfect shape and looked just like the pictures. We had everything we needed.

We really enjoyed our trip. The listing is pretty accurate. Its not the newest cabin but they keep it maintained pretty well. There was a small issue with the hot tub during our stay but the owners were very quick with their response and was able to have it resolved the very next day while we were out which was awesome. A bear did come visit us during our stay which was pretty cool for us, but something you might want to consider for your trip. Also note the driveway is incredibly steep. Which didnt end up being an issue for us too much but was a little concerning for our elderly parents that were with us, but everything ended up fine. Would still definitely stay here again.

as advertised, very accommodating hosts.

We stayed at the cabin for a week during Thanksgiving and had a great time. There were 8 adults and 4 young kids, and we had plenty of space for all of us. The cabin is in a great location close to town, albeit the mountain roads are very slim and windy, but as to be expected in the mountains. Make sure some people in your group are comfortable driving those types of roads. The kitchen was a bit small for a group of our size, but it still worked. The big dining table was a plus. The views from the deck are amazing, and as everyone mentions, be prepared to see bears. We thought it was so cool. The game room was a hit also. We had two large SUV's and it was a tight fit in the driveway, but again, doable. The owners are easy to communicate with and we overall were very pleased with this cabin!

Very nice view from the cabin. Cabin is supplied with everything you need

We really enjoyed our stay. We had 12 people staying at the cabin and we had plenty of room. Parking was a little tight because one of our 4 cars was really long, but we managed. The cabin sits higher up on the mountain and as a result it has a fantastic view from the great room. The kids loved the pool table, foosball table, the electronic arcade games and other games there. The hottub and firepit was fantastic too! Overall the cabin was spacious and relaxing. There was an ample supply of dishes and cookware. The owners communicated extremely well and promtly, and are very service-oriented.

You definitely feel like you’re part of the Smoky Mountains staying here. Phenomenal view and our kids were entertained with all the games.

Our family of 11 had a great stay! We loved being in the mountains with the gorgeous view, yet we were close to Gatlinburg. Great proximity to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge yet secluded in the mountains to rest and relax.
The cabin was furnished well with all the supplies we needed for the week. We enjoyed playing corn hole while grilling one night. We appreciated having the second refrigerator in the laundry room!

I was surprised there were little to no condiments.
Not very good pots or pans.
But overall a good stay!

Views were spectacular --very convenient to National Park and to Gatlinburg
Bears were around every day --mountain road driving requires some added caution but very doable

The location is good and it has great views. The roads into the property are reasonable and you become accustomed to them quickly. The driveway is short and steep, but should be able to fit 3 or 4 vehicles. The property is older and has undergone some renovations, but the pictures are slightly deceiving. The A/C worked for about 2 out of 6 days, but they were prompt to send a repair man. The temperature was in excess of 95+ degrees each day during our stay. Be sure to lock your car doors ;)

Whether watching wildlife (yes, bears) or sitting on one of the two spacious back porches looking over Smoky Mountains… all the views were wonderful. The hosts were the best communicators we’ve ever had, too! Our three families LOVED this stay - the perfect getaway from the bustle of Gatlinburg but also only a few minutes away. And when we were rained out one day, we had so much to do… pool table, arcade, tvs, connect four, books and card games, foosball, etc!!

I would suggest backing into the driveway if you have a SUV otherwise all your stuff will fall out when you open the back. We could fit 2 SUVs in driveway but it was tight trying to access each. Beautiful views, nice updated kitchen and bathrooms. Comfortable beds. Plenty of amenities to keep everyone happy. Decks are old and need replaced. A lot of debris on decks that could have been easily remedied with a leaf blower. Screen on main floor door was ripped so you couldn’t leave opened. Wifi was pretty good. Outside needs cleaning up. Many bear sightings over our 3 night stay. Neighbors car was broken into by a Mama Bear. Do not leave anything outside or in your car.

The layout of the cabin was perfect for our family vacation. All the kids were excited they could all sleep in the same room with the bunk beds. The table was perfect for all 11 of us to sit down and have dinner together as well as to play phase 10. We all highly recommend this cabin for families with kids.
10.0
This cabin was just what we were looking for out of a Gatlinburg getaway. The cabin was very clean, nicely set up, and in a great location. It had access to several pools with a short drive to help entertain the kids in our group, and was close enough to Gatlinburg for an easy drive into town for food and entertainment. The property management was very responsive and great to work with. Lastly as a very unexpected bonus, we had TONS of bear sightings right from the cabin. Highly recommend this cabin!

This property is accurately portrayed. Everything you see in the description and photos is spot on..very roomy. 2 mins from downtown Gaitlinburg and the entrance to the National Park...Cades Cove is 24 miles away and a nice drive. Let's talk bears. Bears and more bears. They visited several times a day a mom and her 3 cubs along with several juvenile males. They are NOT afraid of you. Admire them from the many windows and decks but stay back. Leave car doors locked as they will open them... They climbed into the mini van that was at the next door cabin. Do not leave food out very simple. It was an amazing experience to see them. We are in thier territory not the other way around. The 4 yr old twins that were with us on the trip couldn't stop talking about the beautiful bears and I will not stop talking about them as well. Gaitlinburg was amazing. So friendly. We will stay here again on our next visit. Felt like home away from home and that's what you want when traveling. Now...the drive up. It's steep. Very steep. I was a wreck but after doing it 3 times I was a pro and I was driving an Equinox. There's no way in the winter you can do it without 4 wheel drive or chains. It's a great view but get ready.....I can't begin to say enough great things. Chris and Morgan were very easy to talk to and replied right away if a concern came up....Thank you so much for allowing us to share your piece of paradise.

Property was as listed. We had members in our group from.2 yrs to 90 yrs. Parking and access a challenge for those with mobility issues but that was disclosed.
The bears were amazing and house great for our group
Home owners very responsive!

My group had a great time considering the weather was not in our favor. I would highly recommend this cabin in the sky. The morning views were great. I would stay again and you should to.

The view from the decks are incredible! The bedrooms are spacious and this home was more than comfortable for 13 people.

This was a great cabin to rent . Everything you need is there. Definitely recommend travel insurance as the drive up and parking are steep and with ice could be an issue .
We had great weather and drive up was nice . Beautiful view
Room set up is nice for families and so many things to do at the property for all ages
Close to downtown gatlinburg and only a short drive to Dollywood and pigeon forge .
Would definitely stay here again

Loved the cabin. Had plenty of room for 6 adults and 5 children (7 and under). Saw bears which was cool. From I-40, iPhone directions take you on Gatlinburg bypass road (to avoid traffic I presume) to get to the cabin. I don’t recommend this, especially if you are arriving at night due to steep, winding roads. We discovered on second day we could get to downtown Gatlinburg in about 5-10 minutes taking another route. I think it would’ve been easier to battle traffic and come in this way. This is just FYI for anyone reading. Overall we had a great time and loved the place. Highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The hosts were extremely nice, friendly responsive and helpful. The cabin itself is perfectly laid, out with the bedrooms allowing each of our three families to have their own space and privacy and lots of room as we gathered together too. Perfect!
The only issue to be aware of, are the roads are mountain roads. Lots of steep inclines and leaves, but worth the extra caution needed. The views are fabulous!
Obey the “leave no food in your car rules.” A neighbor had a car window broken out by a bear, but we were warned ahead of time. We felt bad for the travelers, so, heed the warning! The bear was nice enough, but naturally looking for food.
This was a special trip for my family. EVERYTHING the host did to make our stay expectational was appreciated. They care and want you to enjoy their space. It is beautiful. We highly recommend the hosts and the property.

The cabin was great! Spacuius and as described. Road up was a little intimidating the first time with all the winding and narrowness but after that was just like any road. It added to the experience of the mountains. The view from the back deck was amazing, especially with all leaves changing all around. Seen a bear the first day between the cars but didn't see any the rest of the week......one was enough for me. Cabin was clean and beds comfortable. Overall it was nice and accommodating for my family 👪 ❤️.

Very nice 5 bedroom cabin in the mountains! Saw bears everyday in the neighborhood or on the property! Close to everything, yet secluded as well. Property well maintained. Kitchenware was plentiful. Plenty of room to move around in the house. Great communication with owner Chris.

If you want to see bears up close and want a good view of the mountain this is the perfect cabin. The host was very accommodating and friendly. We had no issues at all and the cabin had all the amenities we needed. There were 3 floors each with a bathroom. It had a pool table, retro arcade game and foosball. The jacuzzi was perfect and my kids enjoyed it a lot. The downtown area was not far at all and the drive wasn't too bad, you just need to be careful going up and down the road as they are steep. Overall the cabin was perfect. We would definitely come back!
10.0
Wonderful stay, saw plenty of bears, some even came up to the cabin. Private and peaceful but only 9 min to downtown and for being up the mountain not a bad drive at all much easier than I expected. The hosts respond to every message promptly. Would recommend to anyone looking to travel

Saw lots of bears! Beautiful property and such a cozy home.

Happy
We enjoyed the cabin. There was a maintenance problem with the dryer and the hosts took care of it immediately. The drive up the mountain is “fun” and seeing the bears was spectacular! The kids enjoyed the game room activities. Would stay there again.

Bear experience
Everything was just as described.
The response to some issues was timely.
The only issue was the first floor and second floor (main floor) share the same a/c. The bottom floor was freezing as the second floor (main floor) was hot. We had a problem with meeting the right temperature with both floors.
The view in the morning and in the evening were beautiful.
The drive up for some was a little nerve racking, but wasn’t bad.
I have to say if I see another bear I hope it’s in a zoo. Everyday we had bears. I climbed the back deck several times. It was an experience. My understanding it was mating season so the juveniles were fending for themselves.
We enjoyed every moment…so did friends back home when we FaceTimed them.

Best View on the Mountain
If you are looking for a cabin with amazing views, this is the one. The view of the mountains is so perfect, it almost seems like a Hollywood backdrop. We saw bears at the cabin every day, tons of birds, an eastern fence lizard, squirrels, and chipmunks. The kitchen is stocked well. Plenty of towels available. We loved the big dining table. The hot tub is great, too. We had a plumbing issue during our stay and the owners contacted us immediately and were able to get it rectified while we were out hiking and exploring. They even sent us a gift basket as an apology for our trouble, which made me feel a bit guilty because we weren’t inconvenienced at all. If we come back, we will stay here again. It was perfect.

Amazing home. Great views. The owners were great communicators and made sure you had everything you needed. Only thing was the unpaved driveway is pretty tough to get up.

Gatlinburg Getaway
The rental process was simple and check-in was easy. If you have any type of anxiety issues, getting to the location of this cabin will be a major issue. It is close to downtown Gatlinburg, however, the roads you take to get to this cabin are scary. The cabin itself was ok but there is not a tv in all the bedrooms.

Beautiful home, great views
This listing is gorgeous! The home looks exactly like the pictures represented, and the view from the porch might even be better. We had a great time. The neighborhood roads were a little scary for those of us that aren’t used to the area, but the proximity to Gatlinburg was unbeatable.

Great getaway
We had a wonderful time at the cabin with friends and family. We had a large group and the accommodations were great. There were a lot of games to keep the younger ones happy. The kids loved making s'mores in the fire pit and we all enjoyed cooking outside. The hot tub was relaxing and a very welcoming after hiking. Communication with the hosts was easy and their response was immediate. We notified the host of a minor maintenance problem and we were quite shocked to have a repairman at our door in less than an hour to resolve the problem. Thank-you so much for the hospitality.
