location
To say I’m disappointed with my choice of house to stay is an understatement & what has been a very sad trip home for me has been made worse by the condition of this house I didn’t feel I wanted to use the kitchen to cook in because of the greasy feel. It was poorly equipped ,normally I like to make my own meals when I’m away. I first contacted the house straight away to let them know of my complaints they did not contact me for a week to offer to put some of the things right.
1.Kitchen had a greasy feel to the tops
2.Oven was dirty & when I put it on to heat up it set the smoke alarms off
3. Crockery felt greasy, mug had lipstick mark on
4. Bottom of bin was filthy & had a cigarette end in
5. Recycle bin full with last persons rubbish
6. Not enough cutlery for 3 people
7. Not enough seating for 3 people
8. Bedding not clean stains on sheets cheap & inferior quality
9. Towels were cheap & inferior quality & no hand towel was supplied for downstairs toilet
10. Walls were marked & dirty
11. Cobwebs in most rooms
12. 1 key for 3 people

good location for visiting family
very cold when we arrived, but guessing it had been empty over Christmas.

Comfy and cosy
TV is tiny compared to the size of the living room

Lovely house, perfect for a couple of nights with a small group whilst we were at the Grand Prix. Three bedrooms so there was one room each, which was perfect. Downstairs loo was handy to have. Good sized garden, though we didn’t get much opportunity to use it.
A good balance of price and distance as a base for the Grand Prix. It did mean we were further out so it took a while to get there and back each day, but the difference in price between this and the closer properties that were similar more than made up for that. If you’re looking for a base for Silverstone but don’t mind a bit of a drive each day, this is a good option (though I may regret pointing that out if it means facing competition to book it for next year!!!)
There was everything we’d need to be able to make a brew when we landed, which was most welcome after a cold and rainy qualifying session!
Co-op very close, also a pub which serves food, and a Chinese restaurant.
Easy access to the M1.
I’d have to be really nitpicking to find something to write about in this box. It was a great base for us.

It's a lovely house, close to the Conference Centre that we were attending. It's got a lovely garden too. The owner was very helpful and dropped hairdryers down.
Just a couple of niggles, A hand towel in bathroom and downstairs toilet would have been useful. The blind in the single room let the light through, and a curtain would have been better over it. My colleagues in the double rooms said their curtains were excellent. There were some loose fittings on windows and it would be easy to fix them. Previous smokers had left fag ends outside in the pebbles outside. Even though there was an ashtray. Not the owners fault but maybe a few checks on details and it would be first class.

Privacy and ease of access
All lovely

Good location, no hassle. Just needed somewhere to sleep near the conference centre.
Mattress wasnt the best, but was ok.

Clean comfy and private

Good location
Poor communication from the host, don't expect any help if anything goes wrong. I injured my arm because the chair was broken but they stopped responding and didn't even apologise! Therefore very expensive for the service you receive.
4.3
Very good property with all facilities and a group of shops nearby

It was amazing and very friendly owner
Nothing everything is good

Property was cosy, clean and situated in a peaceful and quiet residential environment.
It's not too close to the town centre, neither is it too far from it.
There is a private parking which was quite useful.
Beddings were clean and beds were comfortable.
Rude and Unprofessional Host.
There was an email request for ID verification and £150 deposit, made 3 days after I already booked and paid for this property ( for a family visiting me).
My main issue wasn't the ‘profiling’ nature of the email, but that I saw the request few hours before check in. The timing of the requests presented some inconvenience to me, especially as they also wanted a copy of the ID for my guests too, who were already on their journey into town.
I suggested that the host should have let guests know such requirements beforehand, not days after a seemingly-finalized booking. Her dismissive response was "you can cancel if you want".
At a few hours to check in, and my guests on their way, I found her response rude and uncaring.
__
Poor communication.
After I sent the ID and paid the deposit, my email, then calls asking the host to kindly confirm all was clear, got no response.
By check-in time (4 hours later), I still hadn’t received a confirmation, which left me worried and scrambling, as my guests had arrived and still wasn't sure if I had secured a place for them to sleep that night.
Eventually, I got an email with the access code, 7 minutes after when we should have officially had access to the property.
__
Made Guest Feel Uncomfortable.
Around 8pm, my guests noticed a stealthy car and male occupant (who I believe was from the host), parked opposite the street, observing the property for over 2 hours.
Such behaviour at night and on a quiet street, was borderline intimidating and discomfiting for my guests (a couple and their two kids, both under 5 years).
I can understand a quick drive-by check, but a 2-hour surveillance campaign outside the property was unnecessary.

Broken Living Room Furniture.

It is was fantastic. They gave us option of having tea or coffee as well as using things in the kitchen which was very good of them. Unfortunately, hot drinks is not our kind of thing but we very much appreciate the good gesture. The exciting thing about the location is that it is centrally located - just few minutes drive to town centre and Wicksteed park.
One of the chairs in the living room has a broken back. It needs fixing otherwise the living room is superb!

Easy access via key box and communications all clear. Location perfect for our needs (at the sports complex for a weekend competition), near shops and great quality fish and chip shop. Double beds both very comfortable. Airing cupboard very useful. Fast efficient washing machine to turn around sports gear. Nowhere to unpack clothes to but didn’t matter as only stayed 2 nights so lived out of our bags. Will definitely use this property again.
Not enough seating in lounge for 4 but moved a chair down from bedroom which worked ok.
Single bed too uncomfortable so kids in the end shared the double (luckily they didn’t mind).
Bathroom doorlock upstairs needs attention knob came off and needed someone from outside to help me escape by pushing the cylinder back.
No small/side plates in kitchen.
Shower needs a new hose (was taped up but leaking badly).

Stayed with the host previously at another property and it never disappoints, was a nice quiet area for me and my colleague to stay at as we had work locally in the morning, host was very helpful on the phone and polite.
Will be definitely returning to the property in the future!

the settee was too small and not very comfortable. the guest booked in after my stay turned up asking for a viewing of the property..
