The Helen Louise House, located in a quiet neighborhood, is only a 10 minute walk from downtown Fredericksburg's museums, restaurants, art galleries, shops, and wine tasting rooms. The charming 2 bed/2 bath house, built in 1950 and lovingly renovated and expanded in 2016, is perfect for 1 or 2 couples or a small family. You will appreciate the fully equipped large kitchen and wine bar, the sparkling clean full bathrooms, the light and airy screened-in porch, and the large and comfortable living room. Additionally, the property is fully landscaped with a large backyard complete with a 2-person hammock and the sound of a soothing fountain. Enjoy a picnic lunch or dinner outside on the shaded patio beneath a lovely, mature pecan tree. If it's chilly, warm up by the chimenea and watch the yard art in the hen house! You are welcome to enjoy exploring Fredericksburg riding one of the many cruiser bikes available in the garage. The house was very clean and on a large lot in the town. The hosts thought of so many things that would make the stay enjoyable. The back patio appears to have recently been enclosed/screened in and, as a cyclist, I appreciated the embedded chains and gears in the concrete. The other couple we stayed with enjoyed the house very much as well and we have begun talking about our next trip and booking the house again.

What a charming house and neighborhood, convenient to everything, yet away from the traffic and crowds! Our host has thought of every possible need or want in a vacation rental. The screened in porch and shady backyard were a welcome oasis at the end of a busy day. We would highly recommend this property to anyone planning to visit Fredericksburg.

This property is outstanding. My family thoroughly enjoyed the charming character and convenient location. Beth provides all the needed amenities, more than most VRBOs, as we've visited several around the world. The relaxation in the sunroom with close views of dozens of birds is the cherry on top. We highly recommend this beautiful house to anyone who visits Fredericksburg.

The home was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The welcome basket was a great touch. We enjoyed all the snacks and bottle of wine! It was an easy walk to main street and a lovely neighborhood to stroll through. We would all definitely recommend this home to other visitors to Fredericksburg!

Friends and I have made Fredericksburg an annual trip and we’ve now stayed at the Helen Louise house three times. We couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else…the thoughtful touches, the cleanliness of the entire house, the back porch (perfect for morning coffee!), the communication with the host Beth, it’s all great! We loved our stay! The property was very clean, the beds were very comfortable, and there were nice surprises - snacks and a bottle of local wine. The decore was cute and whimsical - little touches in every room and even the outdoors spaces, made this a truly lovely and fun place to stay. The host was very communicative prior to our check-in so everything went very smoothly. This is a delightful 2 bedroom home in every sense of the word. We would definitely stay here again!

Picture of outside doesn't do the inside justice. Our group thought it was one of the nicest Vrbo/air-bb we have been in. Lovely perks like snacks sodas, even a bottle of wine, were waiting for us. Accommodations are light and airy and homey. Beautiful backyard with the screened patio. Bicycles in the garage to use. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to this town.

***Only negative inaccuracy is that the property claims there is a hot tub. There is no hot tub. There is only one small, old fashion style shower/tub combo and then in the master bath there is a remodeled shower only. Not a big deal but the listing needs to be changed. Otherwise, this place is awesome. It is very walkable to Main Street. Even a slow casual walk it’s only 15-20 minutes to get there. Obviously a super short drive if you don’t want to walk. The beds are comfy and the ceiling fans work great. The screened sitting area on the back is perfect for two couples just to chill and chat. We spent several hours out there since the weather was so pleasant. The kitchen coffee setup is nice. French press, nespresso and regular drip coffee all available with beans provided for fresh grinding! Neighborhood is very quiet and in March there are blue bonnets everywhere! Nice big smart tv in living room too. We loved our stay and will definitely stay here again when we come back to Fredericksburg.

Helen's home is well located with a beautiful yard in a quiet neighborhood. Many special touches were provided by the host making our first ever visit to Fredericksburg very special. The Helen Louise house was perfect for my two daughters, granddaughter, and myself for a 21st birthday celebration. The owner provides snacks, a bottle of wine to welcome you, and ANYTHING else you may need. It is in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood and nicely decorated. Our only downside was the weather was chilly and wet, so therefore, we couldn’t really enjoy the outdoor room and lovely back yard. I wouldn’t hesitate to book this home again. Thank you!

I almost don't want to share my review, I want to keep this hidden treasure a secret! My mom and I have been coming to FBG for 18 years, we have stayed in numerous homes in the area. This is our FAVORITE! The backyard and screened in porch was the star of the show. It was so relaxing to sit out and enjoy the cooler weather, surrounded by birds and beautiful plants, water feature and landscape. The rest of the home was just as enjoyable, the beds are comfortable there are plenty of extra pillows and blankets and everything was clean! There are baskets of toiletries that are often forgotten so there is no last minute panic when someone realizes they forgot their toothbrush. They had snacks, a candy dish, a Nespresso machine and fresh ground coffee to brew as well. We enjoyed the bottle of Becker wine that was there which happens to be my favorite winery in the area. The owner was super easy to communicate with, not that we needed much because they thought of everything. Check in and check out was a breeze, the WIFI worked great too. I hope this home will be available next year and every year after for our annual trip.

My sister and I took my mom to Fredericksburg for a birthday weekend, and we had a wonderful time at the Helen Louise House! It was very clean, fun retro decor, great communication from the owner, a great screened in porch with tons of birds. They even had a snack basket and toiletries and the only clean up we had to do was taking the trash out and putting towels in the tub! Awesome place!!

The Helen Louise House was so cute and the hosts made sure all was provided for a "home away from home." From thoughtful snacks to the little things like bandaids in the restrooms, every possible scenario was carefully thought out. My husband and I met his brother and wife here for the weekend to catch up since we live so far apart. We especially loved the screened-in porch for morning coffee.

We loved the vintage feel of the home and especially appreciated all of the extra touches included - from the welcome basket complete with wine, Nespresso, and the lovely lavender bathroom products. The house was adorable. Very quaint and comfy plus stocked with every item imaginable! The owners pay close attention to detail and it was much appreciated. The back porch and yard are so charming. Multiple bird feeders attract feathered friends which was wonderful for our early morning coffee. Would definitely recommend!!

This house was cozy, beautifully decorated well-kept. Owners left snacks enough for four. Our backyard was beautiful, well manicured and maintained. We loved the little screened in porch off the back. Lots of birds to watch because of all the birdfeeders. Many many different types of birds really enjoyed ourselves. Would stay here again.

This was by far the best VRBO I have ever stayed in. Our party was 2 couples with a weekend getaway to see some wildflowers. The house was clean, well functioning, and well stocked as expected, but there were tons of unexpected surprises that were just great. The interior had tons of cool touches and memories from yesterday but with modern conveniences. Little things such as complimentary toiletries; toothbrushes, shower cap, makeup removers and slippers were nice touches. Other nice things were coffee beans and a grinder for fresh ground coffee and bikes in the garage with helmets and locks so you borrow them and ride into town. We rode the bikes to main street both nights of our stay for dinner. It was a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend this one and we'll look for it again if we go back to Fredericksburg in the future.

Helen Louise was our little “ peace” of heaven in Fredericksberg where we based ourselves to explore the Hill Country over three days. The property had every possible amenity.. just fabulous and we've stated in many VRBO and other properties in our time .. this was one of the best! Sitting out in the serene backyard with the birds and beer/ wine .. just great! Thank you Beth and Max for letting us stay in your special place.. and for all the lovely extra surprises left for us .. so much appreciated. Whilst mobility issues prevented us walking into town Ubers were easy available. Until next time …..
