Did it see any breakfast offered except the bags that cost $5.00 for some oatmeal and a piece of fruit. the coffee shop was cute. Everyone was kind and helpful and the bed was cozy. We had the Roomy view on the 7th floor.
The rooftop food was not great at all. They forgot the meat in our dish and brought it on the side and it wasn’t great at all

Everything met or exceeded expectations except for below.
The size of the room was ridiculous. This ended up being, per square foot, the most expensive hotel stay I've ever had. Everything else was truly fantastic but the room size would make me hesitant to stay again or recommend.
The cost did not reflect the comfort of the room.

The hotel staff are wonderful, and couldn't have done more for us. The decor of the hotel, including the room, was lovely. The room was a nice size and well appointed. Being on the 8th floor gave us a cool view. The bathroom had plenty of hooks, which is always appreciated. The coffee bar downstairs was awesome. We didn't get to try the rooftop bar, but I look forward to checking it out, as well as the new speakeasy, on our next visit!
Very minor issue, but there was an odd gap between the bed and the wall that made it difficult to sit up in bed. The mattress sagged a bit in the middle and probably needs a refresh. The neighborhood has been cleaned up but its still a bit on the rough side. The hotel is an oasis! Would love if there was a self park option affiliated with the hotel. The valet was very expensive.

interior design style, location to waterfront, heritage site, edgy part of town, walkable, near top eateries and shopping culture and art
Our room wasn’t cleaned properly by hotel staff for entire of 3 night stay, we had to ask what was the problem at front desk on the 3rd night. We ran out of coffee and tea, rubbish overflowing in the cans in our room, beds laid unmade and towels with still damp most days as same ones throughout. The room itself was tired and needing fixing. Broken faucet came off in our hand in the bathroom sink. Wallpaper was old and behind curtains needing paint touch ups. Lamps over the bed were rickety and challenging to use while in the bed to read- wrong angle, shades too big, just awkward. We paid substantially for an ok experience.

very nice staff
location, way too noisy, busy streets.

It was a very comfortable stay with the best shower ever! Good view and good value.
I think it would be a great idea to have a water station for guests to fill up their water bottles - having to give my water bottle to an employee to walk out of sight to refill it is really just a hassle for both people involved! Having a water station would definitely solve that.

The team and staff were extremely nice and made sure we were treated well. It was my birthday and everyone from the door handlers, to the front desk and kitchen crew were respectful and kind!

it was clean and easy to find.
the fire alarm at 343am with no fire… I mean great but no explanation lack of communication and the stairs were locked couldn’t use them so you are trapped basically until you find an alternate route I understand safety but you it seems like an oversight.

Beautiful rooms, great restaurant and friendly staff!

Super friendly and helpful staff. Cleanliness and styling second to none. Plentiful useful information and eating and drinking options available.
Not game changers however music in food venues so loud it was difficult to have a conversation particularly in the rooftop eatery. Large bathrooms but nowhere to place toiletries and when 3 in a room only 2 towel hooks.

The hotel had a really nice vibe and the staff was super friendly and helpful. We liked the location as it was central to all the places we needed to go
If you are on floor 2, it can be pretty noisy at night from the music below. Luckily we were able to move to a quieter room.

great staff! wonderful restaurants upstairs and down and we loved our room:)
for safety you’ve gotta use the valet parking and it’s expensive! but worth it as we were road tripping with lots of gear in the car.

The hotel lobby is very nice. The bathroom was a decent size. Nice coffee and restaurant are available. You can tell this property previously was rundown and they have made extensive renovations to improve the standard and cleanliness.
The rooms are tiny. I could barely fit my luggage in the room. No view from the window. Outside the hotel has many homeless roaming around the street. Valet parking is overpriced - you can park yourself in the car park across the street for 1/3 the price.

The ambience as soon as you walk into the hotel is really cool. Almost feels like you entered a different city. Close proximity to a lot of good restaurants and bars. Almost everything we did was within walking distance to the hotel. Staff is really friendly and helped us out. I personally don't think its fair that some people gave this hotel a bad review because of the surrounding area - this was a beautiful hotel and I wouldn't think twice about staying here again.

The staff were all amazing and very helpful. The overall aesthetic of the place was so cool and everything was perfectly curated to create a unique experience. The double view from our corner room was stunning and the room itself was cozy and welcoming.
The only thing was in our room there was really no place to put makeup or hair stuff while getting ready. there is plenty of room in the bathroom in room 610 to add a little table and possibly another mirror behind the bathroom door to allow people to get ready easier. Women need more counter space please :)

The staff were great and the hotel is very well decorated. The cafes and rooftop bar were great. Brilliant location for the Saturday market and Powell’s books
Unfortunately despite the great decor and the atmosphere in the rest of the hotel, lack of basic cleanliness let this place down. The bathroom was covered in long black hairs (unsure if this was the previous guest or cleaner) and hairs in the bed - generally this made the room feel dirty.

nice decor, great top floor bar, lovely staff.
Downstairs bar and cafe were mostly closed during my stay, surrounding area quite run down. shoebox room perfectly adequate size-wise for a solo traveller but had a musty smell and has nowhere for storage so just had to live out of bag.

I loved EVERYTHING about the Hoxton! My very first impression walking in was the lobby and staff were welcoming and cool. The room is small (it was advertised as such so no disappointment there) but had so many cool touches - like the radio being softly on, funky-fun phone and push button switches, and a small stack of interesting books to read. The cherry on top (literally on top) is the rooftop restaurant / bar which has great drinks and food with great service too. I absolutely loved my stay here and will stay again if I need a hotel in downtown Portland again!!

Very nice facilities, helpful staff. Good coffee at the café on the ground floor, and good food in the restaurant on the top. Small, but very beautiful room, comfortable bed. Large bathroom.
The area around the hotel is a bit sketchy: there's a lot of homeless people on the street, so at times, you may feel unsafe. Nothing happened to me, but I felt like I had to be in the lookout when I walked in the area.
