About this house rental

Welcome to Uncorked cottage! This newly built cottage (built 4 years ago) is tucked away on a quiet stone drive, among birds and trees, and an easy 5 minute walk to public beach (Mckinley). Brand new build with open concept living. First floor is kitchen, dining, living room, bathroom, washer and drier. Open concept with concrete floors, barn doors, and reclaimed barn wood beam. Second floor hard wood, high ceilings, 2 bedrooms (1 king and 1 queen), bunk room that sleeps 4, and full bath.

The kitchen is spacious with great counter top workspace, huge granite island that seats 4, stainless steel appliances, and fully stocked (microwave, dishwasher, oven, gas cook top and coffeemaker w/drip or pod).

Family room has 55" ROKU HDTV

Large screened in porch, outdoor BBQ, firepit and outdoor shower.

Linens, towels, and beach towels provided.

6 beach chairs, beach umbrella, and wagon provided.

2 Sonos speakers.

Weekly rental (Sunday to Sunday preferred-cleaning service is great but doesn't work on Saturdays) during summer months (May 29 to September 11)

Everything about this property is amazing. Extremely clean & organized. They had games to play, books to read. The house had all of the amenities and household items we needed. The beach was a 5-minute walk and the local coffee shop was a 7-9 minute walk. Sheila was responsive and replied to my text questions very promptly. A great getaway spot! We would definitely come back.

We absolutely loved our stay at this outstanding cottage. My family and I have stayed at several locations throughout Southwest Michigan. We all agree, This is the best one we’ve stayed at. It is extremely clean, a great location and has just about everything you could ever imagine in a great rental. We highly recommend this place.

I can't say how much we enjoyed our trip. I was very impressed at how well stocked the place was. The proximity to the beach was an added bonus, we were able to go a couple times despite it being September. It's also a great location, near restaurant, hiking and nearby towns such as New Buffalo and Threw Oaks.

This place is great. Super clean, well taken care of, more equipped than any other VRBO I’ve ever been at. You can tell these people genuinely care about you being comfortable and having a good time when you’re there. Great communication too. A+

This house has everything you need!! The layout worked perfectly for our two families of 3. My mom, son and myself stayed her for an extended weekend get-a-way and loved every min! Very clean, quiet and within walking distance to bakery and the beach. We will definitely stay here again!

This cottage is a hidden jewel. Quality work was done on the interior and exterior. Great kitchen set-up and a variety of cookware. Also, a well-stocked library of books and games for all ages. The upstairs and downstairs Sonos speakers was a nice touch. Two-thumbs up.

What a lovely spot! The location is off the road slightly but perfectly located to walk to the lake, store or the Whistle Stop for breakfast. Beds were comfortable and we enjoyed starting slow over coffee discussing all the neat features of the cottage and how we want one just like it! The porch was so nice and kitchen table was an inviting spot to compete against one another at Yahtzee and cards. We will definitely look to stay at Uncorked Cottage again in the future!

This is our 2nd time staying here and it was just as good as the first time. We didn’t have time to use it, but there is a fire pit now that I wish we would have been able to use, we’ll make sure for next time. House is clean, beds are super comfortable and very close to great places to eat. Cannot wait to stay there again. Shelia and John really make you feel comfortable too!

This was an altogether wonderful house! Clean, nicely decorated and well stocked. Sheila was extremely responsive throughout; during the booking process, prior to arriving and while there. Being recessed from the main road, it’s also pretty quiet. We loved the screened in front porch! It was also an easy walk to the beach which was made even easier with the provided beach wagon. All in all, a great stay! Thanks so much.

This was our second time booking Uncorked Cottage and we were even happier this time! We enjoyed the paved fire pit area with the solo stove for s’mores 3 nights. We just love sitting on the screened in porch and enjoying our coffee and bakery goods from Black Currant Bakehouse. The house is so easy to walk to and from the beach. Sheila has everything you would need at the house to make it easy on what you need to pack. We grilled steaks one evening. It’s truly one of the best vrbo’s we’ve rented. We plan on coming back next summer. I don’t know how many times I said to my husband that I just love this place! ❤️

Our stay was a wonderful experience! The home is beautiful. Loved the screened in porch! We were able to have an early check-in and a late check-out since there were no bookings before or after our stay. The walk to the beach is about 5 minutes which was great. The hosts are so friendly and responded right away to our questions. I would highly recommend this home. We are already talking about going back!! Thank you again for an enjoyable stay!

So glad this new property was available for a last minute weekend getaway with family. Everything and more as advertised. Beautiful and comfortable accommodations. Worth noting if you will be staying during cooler temperatures, the terrazzo floors on the lower level can be cold on the feet. Plenty of space for gathering together for dinner inside or outside around a fire; quiet reading area upstairs. And a short easy walk to beach access and Lake Michigan . Our family likes to cook together; our hosts made that easy with a fully equipped kitchen. Looking forward to a return stay

We had a marvelous day at Uncorked!

Uncorked Cottage proved to be just what we needed to “check out” and relax for a few days. Sheila and John were amazing hosts, very attentive, and offered a getaway that was well stocked with everything we might imagine we would need. We liked the secluded location of the cottage and immediately fell in love with the kitchen and the screened in porch. Although there were just two of us, we commented on how nice it would be to bring other family members to enjoy. Union Pier and New Buffalo are nice little towns with a lot of local color. We patronized many of the local businesses and found all to be very welcoming. We will definitely recommend Uncorked to friends and family who might plan to visit SW Michigan.
