About this cabin rental
We know times are tough right now so we work very hard to provide the best value for your money! You will not find another property as welcoming and well maintained at this price point. We have an extremely fast response and resolution time if an issue comes up because we care about your family and our team is here to serve you and make sure that you have the very best stay possible. If you want to stay in a rustic, but comfortable log cabin, in the Maine woods, a five minute walk from a wild, rocky beach, the Americana is the place for you. We have a weekly 10% discount, a 2 night minimum stay, and a very low $75 cleaning fee! It is 6 miles to the town of Lubec, which is just a small historic fishing town. The Americana is all on one level and has 2 bedrooms and one full bath with a tub/ shower combination. The first bedroom has a queen bed with brand new soft mattress and the second bedroom has two soft comfy twin beds with one trundle bed as well. There is no nightlife and restaurants are limited so if you are looking to escape the big city life for a little while and connect with nature you will love it here. We have no pet fee, no weight limit, a very reasonable and flexible cancellation policy, and a low cleaning fee. All well behaved dogs welcome, up to 3 dogs per booking. Well behaved cats accepted upon request, too. Because we are pet friendly and the beach is shared you may occasionally see and hear other guests and their pets. If you are allergic or simply do not like pets our cabin would probably not be a good fit for you. The Americana is the first of three cabins, at the end of a long, gravel road (Lighthouse Lane) which is our private driveway. Each cabin is far enough apart and separated by trees to for privacy. To get to the beach you just follow a short path that is clearly marked to the beach. Guests staying at the last cabin are aware that they will see other guests walking the path to get to the beach. The location of the cabin is close to the end of the North Lubec peninsula and feels very remote. Reserve the perfect dates for next summer, now, because it fills up quickly with repeat guests. The Americana has 200mbps high speed internet and a smart tv with basic cable package. Bring your paddle board or use our kayaks and explore the shoreline. To use our kayaks you must sign the waiver form in the welcome book. It is a short walk slightly downhill to the beach then back uphill when you are done so it is not suitable to bring your heavy kayaks. From the picnic table, at the beach, you will enjoy views of Moose Island, and beautiful Cobscook Bay. There are some nice hiking trails on North Lubec Road for you to explore. The Quoddy head lighthouse state park is only a 9.7-mile drive from the cabin. You can go on a whale watching tour (tours run from June to mid-September) from Lubec. On the tour you will see seals, eagles, and whales if you are lucky. Even if you don't see a whale the tour of the coast lines of neighboring islands is breathtaking. This cabin is a fully functional home with a full kitchen with dishwasher, washer and dryer, 1 full bath tub shower combo, and 2 bedrooms, one queen bed, 2 twin beds with a trundle, as well as basic cable TV and WIFI. It has a small open concept kitchen, dining, and living room, as well as a screened porch for enjoying the breeze in the evening . Outdoor chairs, charcoal grill, and a stone fire pit, are provided. This is not a beach for swimming. The current is too strong and the water is always too cold. No smoking and please return all TV equipment to its original settings if you make any changes.

We had an amazing time at the Americana Cabin. The cabin had all the essentials you could need. We loved having access to kayaks to explore the bay. Lubec is an amazing place to visit to visit and this cabin location was wonderful because it was peaceful and secluded but the town was only 10 minutes away. Will definitely come back!

This was our second stay at Damon's cabins and we enjoyed the experience thoroughly. The cabins are very cozy, clean, and well maintained. A great place to bring the family.

Cabin was very comfortable with everything we needed and was down a unpaved road nestled in the trees. A short path lead us to access to a rocky beach. It was great for walking and exploring at low tide. We had the beach to ourselves, ,,a very quiet and scenic location

Far from crowds with all the comforts of home! Hoping to stay again next year

The cabin was well maintained, very clean and well stocked with necessary supplies. It was a great location for our oil painting expeditions to Quoddy Head, which was a short drive away. Be prepared to purchase food for your stay on the way up, as nearby restaurants were only so-so. On a quite positive note, the hosts and property manager (Carla) were most helpful when we had either health or IT/technical issues. If you're in good shape and love the Maine landscapes, the place is perfect.

I was extremely impressed with this little cabin and all the amenities graciously included by the hosts. I appreciated the privacy from the other cabins and the short trek down to the beach. The screened in front porch was great for a cup of coffee on a rainy morning and the proximity of the cabin to nearby hiking trails was an added bonus. My only regret was not booking a longer stay! I’m already looking forward to our next trip,

Cannot recommend this place more highly. Beautiful spot for us to spend a week plus with teenagers and a friend. We all loved the beach. Carla was great at helping us and went above and beyond, although we never were able to get the TV to work. That was actually a blessing as we all needed to unplug. I have a small recommendation that you add to the cutlery as we could have used more. All in all hope to return! Book with confidence. And the price is very reasonable.

We arrived and found the Americana Cabin to be just what we were looking for. A place with privacy; yet, not to far from commercial activities. The cabin has all the amenities and technologies one could want for a 2 day get away.

A luxurious cabin in the woods with abundant shore accent. This is an easy rental to like. The owners and caretaker are gems. You won't do better.

It was a very nice cabin in a beautiful setting. Out of the way and quiet. Was able to see the sun rise from the beach. Wasn't a need for anything ( maybe a couple kitchen items).

This property goes beyond expectation, its beautiful, quiet and Jamie & Damon thought of every detail, even providing toothbrushes, body wash etc, absolutely everything we would need. This was our first time renting a home for our vacation and they set the standards so high I am not sure we will ever find another as perfect.

We will be back. Fifth time, I think.

Quiet and Convenient! Spent three nights and wish we had more time to take in the area. The hike at Quoddy was the highlight, but the whale watching was great too! Coming back to the cabin to relax was the perfect way to end each day.

We stayed at this cabin years ago under previous owners. The new owners have outdone the love we had for this cabin before. They had everything & anything you could need, the fire pit was wonderful. The path to the beach beautifully done. The owners were kind & helpful. We would certainly come back to this cabin in a heartbeat. Thank you for a beautiful & peaceful stay!

We've stayed in many vacation properties and this is one of the best equipped. There's everything you could need in a compact and comfortable space. Lots of thoughtful, generous touches and the owners are very responsive and helpful.
The cabin is near the other cabin rentals but very private. It's just off a quiet country road and a short ride to the town of Lubec and, best of all, to many very nice hiking trails. The cabin's fire pit and outdoor table and seating is a great addition!

This cabin is in a secluded area. The owners try to think of every detail. Snacks, items for pets, items for children to color in. It rained pretty much the entire time we were there, but the scenery is beautiful. Short drive up to Canada too. Would definitely recommend this cabin for a small family or anyone with pets!

The Americana Cabin is a perfect little getaway in a peaceful and beautiful location on the Down-east coast. Jamie & Damon along with Carla were the perfect hosts, being exceptionally responsive and welcoming. Wi-Fi was outstanding and this was so important as we worked remotely from paradise. Our pets were just as welcomed as their human friends with lots of pet friendly amenities. We will definitely be back as there are still amazing hiking trails that we couldn’t make it to during our one month stay.

I stayed at the Americana cabin with my husband, two teenage sons and our small dog. We arrived late on our check-in day and had no problem finding the property or getting in. I appreciated all of the lights that were on outside the cabin. We entered and found the cabin clean and organized. We were able to settle in quickly and that was nice as we had had a long day of traveling. We knew from previous posts that most places close early in Lubec so we came prepared with some of our own groceries for snacks and breakfast and this worked out great for us. We spent the week exploring the beach right near the cabin and all of the beautiful attractions in the area. The guidebook at the cabin helped us decide on these attractions and on places to eat for lunch and/or dinner. We met Carla during our stay and she was gracious, friendly and helpful. Americana cabin is a wonderful place to stay when you are looking to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of life or spend time in nature and hike, skim rocks and take in the beautiful scenery.

My husband and I stayed in the Americana cabin for ten days and very much enjoyed our time there. The setting is peaceful and a short walk to a rocky and very picturesque beach. We really liked the Cobscook trails and other walking paths that are all close to the cabin, especially the “Farm Trail” just up the road where we could take our pup off leash.
The cabin is very clean and well equipped with new kitchen equipment and comfortable furniture. It was roomy for the two of us. Fridge, stove, washer and dryer, dishwasher and shower all worked well.
Carla the property manager and the cabin owners were all excellent at communicating and providing any help needed. All in all a great place to stay for a restful vacation!
