The host was super friendly and helpful, even with a language barrier (we don’t speak Spanish) she managed to help us out with directions and we had a good laugh!
unfortunately the pool was being cleaned when we were there so we weren’t able to use it!

This is an excellent economical option for Atlixco, which is a delightful town, one of the most attractive in Puebla state. The rooms are arranged beside a stretch of lawn; there is a bar, a small souvenir shop, and a restaurant that operates only on weekends. I was there during the week, and it was very quiet and tranquil -- the weekend might be a different story. There's a very comfortable and spacious common area with seats, barstools, swings, and a fine old clay oven. Lety, the caretaker, is a friendly and helpful lady who's followed around all day by her cute little dog. No breakfasts are served on weekdays, but there's a very good place down the block (turn left out the gate -- it's the building next to no. 111 with the magenta facade. There may be proper signage by the time you visit). Traditional Mexican breakfasts served at a very reasonable price, with a nice seating area in the garden as well as indoors. The rooms are clean and quite well-equipped (my bed was maybe a bit spongey); no air-con, but I was fine with a fan even in hotter weather. Wi-fi is good and stable in the common areas, weaker but still serviceable in the rooms. To head to the centre of town, turn right out the gate and right again on Calle Hidalgo, which is a beautiful stretch of road and takes you straight to the Zocalo (central plaza). Overall a very pleasant stay for the price.
At this price point, it's not going to be the Taj Mahal, but it's excellent value. Note that you're not given a key to the outside door, so returning means ringing the bell and waiting a minute or so.

Well besides the comfortable King bed, super clean room, very quiet and great location, the family is wonderful 🥰. I had a great time playing foos ball ( footballini?) with the kids. There’s a great spot to hang outside and u get to walk pass the Dancing stairs on ur way into town. We miss their wonderful family who we connected with an hope to visit again. I would highly suggest this Hacienda. 😊thanks for everything, jodi and dave
