Easy entry instructions, nice street & neighborhood, nice fruits & juice with self serve breakfast.
Need to park on street though it was never far for us

Location for me. The men who ran it were very nice. Pretty stain glass windows. Has potential to be a much nicer bnb. They need help.
Bathroom was horrible, door got in the way of everything. Bed was too hard. Decor looks like they went to goodwill and just mix matched everything, dead plants too. Dangerous front steps, a real mess in the front.

The bed and shower!
Some safety concerns.
3.0 / 10.0
there was no breakfast, just a few cellophane sweets that were not edible - the room advertised kitchen consisted of a microwave - the other kitchen, truly filthy was 3 floors down.
the bed was over an alcove and if one got up too fast, one would seriously hurt themselves - the so called balcony was extremely dangerous if one had a young child with them.

The location of Point Breeze Guest House is close to just about anything you want to do in Pittsburgh! Traveling to Rivers Casino, Carnegie Science Center and PPG Paints Arena was a breeze from this location. We also found some great spots to eat and pick up supplies along our travels back and forth.
The shower was a super tight fit. If you dropped anything, you would need to open the door to be able to bend down and pick it up.
There was no cable, only a Roku remote. This wasn't a huge disappointment, just a pain to set everything up to watch something and then make sure you delete your info so no one else could come in and use your sign on to purchase movies or anything.

Cozy room with coffeemaker, fridge, and stylish Victorian details. Also has a relaxing library on ground floor. Tranquil residential neighborhood. Easy check-in. No on-site parking but easy to find spot on the street.
We booked this place for being a bed and breakfast. The owner told us only AFTER booking and payment that due to Covid (although it’s almost 2024) breakfast is limited. This is information that should go into the add. We were misled and were very disappointed, especially after seeing what the limited breakfast was (a couple of snacks, and this for 2 mornings for 2 people, see picture). We immediately told the owner who said sorry and told us what we wanted for breakfast. We gave some suggestions but then he disappeared from the booking.com chat. We contacted booking.com and they said that the owner refused to compensate. Booking.com acknowledged this misinformation and gave us 40 usd back (but not the owner).

The bed was comfortable!! And I liked how big the space was and how easy it was to find a spot for parking! It was only two block away from Pittsburgh CrossFit!!
The squeaky floors..found hair in the bathtub and towel and I didn’t know how to use the tv!

The house had lots of charm. It’s in a nice neighborhood on a quiet street. I think with a little more owner-presence and TLC, this could be a really nice place to stay.
The listing for the property is pretty misleading. There is no actual breakfast prepared for guests as I expected for a “bed and breakfast.” They give you these little store bought pastries but I was expecting a cooked breakfast every morning. This review might seem knit-picky but I wouldn’t have minded the little things if there had been breakfast and reliable communication.
The rooms were decent, although ours had a strange smell like almost musty. The bed was caved in the middle and was not very comfortable. There was also no curtains on the windows so the bright sun woke us up early every morning. The shower had warm water and low pressure and they only provided a tiny bottle of shampoo - no conditioner. Our room had a tv, but no refrigerator. There is a common area where there is a mini fridge and microwave, including a Keurig for coffee.
The communication with the hosts weren’t the best. I didn’t get my code to the house/room until I arrived and had to call. I think this was just a glitch with the app but it unfortunately set the tone for the rest of the stay. I called the number provided by Booking.com and there was no answer. I only got an answer when I arrived on the property and called the number found on their business cards in the parlor. The owners seem very friendly, I really do think the place has potential but it needs some more attention.

No breakfast other then banana bread
Laundry facilities

Only the location
The place was dirty, unkept, neglected. There was no running water and even though I advised the owner through the booking.com app, he didn't reply. I ended up with a cold for taking cold showers. A 2* motel would have offered more value.

The room my sister and I booked was spotless and comfortable. We felt very safe with the combination of locks on the outside and inside doors.
Not sure if refrigerator had been turned on before we arrived. We turned it up as our food was not keeping cold. Just and FYI.

clean and easy access
5.0 / 10.0
The facilities were in line with my expectations given the cost. It was clean and homey feeling, like staying at your great-aunt's house. I particularly liked the common area with the many books. When I finally met the host, he was friendly and engaging.
I was missing basic information when I arrived. I ran into the cleaning crew who gave me the door code. I'm not sure how I would have gained access if I did not. No one responded to my phone messages, and it was 3 days before I met the host. I managed to get the wifi code via Booking.com after a couple of days. Breakfast was not provided as advertised. Security was not strong in a neighborhood that felt like it could have some crime. Both rooms had the same (easily guessed) entrance code. I didn't feel entirely safe, but I encountered no problems.

The house is beautiful, my room was spacious and cute and parking wasn’t an issue.
Lack of privacy through the paper thin walls, noisy bed, bathroom hadn’t been cleaned since last guest, hot water only lasted 10 minutes for showers, no hot water at all the next morning, no drinking water was available on my night of arrival until sometime the next day, breakfast was a prepackaged coffee cake or some off brand cereal that had been opened by previous guests.

the coffee machine didn’t work

Good location, comfortable room
When the bathroom fan turned on, debris fell out of the vent. It happens, not a big deal but you probably want to clean that vent

It was great to have biscotti's and fresh fruit.
nothing

I liked that it was quiet. and that I could make coffee in the morning. Everything was available that we needed or we were able to bring it and there was a space available for us to keep it.
I did not like that our room was on the 3rd floor. I also found the shower stall a bit small.
9.0 / 10.0
good location, clean and easy to get to
no designated parking area. although a street nearby has 24 he parking, just a matter of getting a spot!
