Only 90 minutes from the Chicago area, Michiana Shores is home to quiet Lake Michigan beaches, lovely wooded areas and stunning sunsets. Your adventure awaits at this gut rehabbed modern farmhouse that is just a short stroll to Lake Michigan beaches. This home boasts 3 floors of enjoyment and comfort for up to 14 guests.
First floor has an open floor plan with living room, dining room and well-stocked kitchen, master bedroom w/walk-in closet, full bathroom, large screened-in porch
Second floor has 2 large bedrooms and full bathroom
Basement has a separate sleeping area/bedroom, 2nd living room/family room stocked with puzzles, games, movies and kids' activities, laundry room

We loved our stay at this gorgeous home in pristine Michiana. The listing is spot on in all it's descriptions. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked for a large group, complete with a LeCrueset we used to bake many loaves of sourdough bread! During our stay, a big storm came througn and the power went out. The generator began firing within seconds, amazing! Our favorite place to be besides the lake was around the 14 seater table on the screen in porch, eating and sharing our day together. The walk to the beach is very short. The beach was never too crowded and very clean and pristine. The beds were very comfortable andthere are tons of fresh towels for all. It was a little difficult sharing 2 bathrooms with 13 people but we made it work! Will definitely stay here again!

We loved the house and the location. The house was spacious, had very comfortable beds, showers and wonderful linens. Lots of space and a short walk to the beach which we walked to even when it was raining. Can see Lake Michigan from one of the upstairs windows. We loved the kitchen and enjoyed cooking there. Basement play area was perfect for the 4- and 7-year old's. Large table let us eat AND have a craft/book area for the girls. The area is quiet, great for walks.

Can’t say enough about our time in the house. First impression was the owner was fantastic with my pre rental questions. Upon checking in, the house was immaculate and so comfortable. Best beds in any rental we’ve stayed in - so comfortable. A GORGEOUS beach was a 3-4 min walk away. It was early fall & we were the only people in the beach each time we walked there. We visited a few cute towns nearby and an orchard. Our family loved all the games & the yard games / fire pit. Our kids spent a lot do time in the great basement playing foosball and other games. I LOVED cooking in the kitchen. It was like a Nancy Meyers roll com… super modern yet with cozy touches. Both indoor and screen porch tables were very large and perfect for our two families to eat, play games and laugh. We hope to visit this house again next year. I would HIGHLY recommend!

WONDERFUL!
Our family had an absolutely wonderful stay.
The home itself is beautiful and perfectly located! The quality, cleanliness and aesthetics felt nothing like a "rental" home, but the hosts certainly provided EVERYTHING a renter would wish to have when visiting the area: all fun and practical things for the beach and lake, bikes, campfire materials. ALL SO THOUGHTFUL. And the layout of the home is amazingly comfortable -- plenty of together and individual places to hang out. Just a great overall feeling.
The hosts are attentive, responsive and lovely at every touchpoint, and it carried through our vacation experience.
Thank you for a great vacation week. We hope to stay again.

The location is really great. I rented this place after careful consideration, as I have been looking to buy in the area, and I know the area block by block. This house is a great place to set off for long walks, go jogging, or head to the lakefront to see the sunset. (The beach was actually washed out this year in many places, but you can walk along the street above the beach.)
The grocery store in downtown New Buffalo is surprisingly good, given the small size of the town.
Cell phone coverage in Michiana and Michiana Shores can be spotty and limited. That's good if you are trying to get away, but it was challenging for us, as we were doing remote working and schooling. We had minor issues with the internet the first day, and the host called Comcast which resolved the problem. So the moral of the story is reach out to the hosts -- they will quickly help out.
I would definitely stay here again. The house, hosts, and location were a great getaway from Chicago.

Lovely!
We had an great time. The house is suited for large families and is very nice. The basement is a great place to let the kids play and be silly. The kitchen has everything you'd need. The neighborhood is quiet and unique, and the architecture is amazing!

The pictures do not even do it justice. Stunning home, wonderfully kept and so clean. We had a wonderful stay and it had everything we needed and then some. The walk to the beach was beautiful and fun. We will absolutely be back. :)

End of Summer Getaway
We spent a long weekend (our second trip to the house) and again had a wonderful time. The home is clean, spacious and the owners are great communicators. Access to the beach is close, extra chairs and beach toys are great as well. Highly recommend the home and the owners.

Beautiful, well-stocked house
We stayed here with our family of 4 and had another family of 3 joined us for a few days. Everything in the house is in great condition, and the kitchen is fully stocked. The 2 big rooms upstairs are great for kids or a family. I loved relaxing on the screened in back porch every morning, followed by a run or walk along Lake Shore Drive, which is a block away. They have a ton of games in the basement, which we took full advantage of. The backyard is big enough for a game of soccer or bags, and has a nice area with a fire-pit and grill. Great place to relax and get away!

Clean, updated home met all our needs. Very comfortable place to stay. Nearest beach was close and a great spot. Short drive to New Buffalo as well. The owner was very responsive and incredibly helpful with my questions and finalizing the rental. We would stay there again.

Perfect Girls Weekend
I stayed at this house with a group of 12 girls. The house was more spacious than I thought it would be. We were able to use the lilypad and wagons at the beach. The only beach open was about a 7 minute walk, but it was an easy and beautiful walk. We loved having breakfast and dinner in the large screened in porch. Overall, I definitely recommend this rental. There is plenty of room and the interior is very updated/clean.

Florida Beach without the Sharks
This property is everything it describes. The home is only even better in person and spotlessly clean. There is lots of open space for hanging and eating. It is also well equipped in the kitchen and the garage is full of bikes and beach toys. Even better, the screen room along the back of the house served as a giant insect free play pen for our 2 babies in the group. The only down side is that the closest access to the beach is currently closed. The closest available entrance is far enough to away that it would not be possible to take everything you need for a day at the beach and walk. We solved that problem by using our car as a taxi and the driver hopped on a bike to get back and forth to the beach. We had a wonderful and COVID safe family vacation that was sorely needed.

The house was perfect for a MI vacation. Beautifully decorated, great location and stocked with everything you need including games, movies, beach chairs/umbrellas, bikes, grill, etc. Our family had a wonderful time and would definitely return.

Great weekend getaway with friends
This property was amazing! The property looks exactly like the pictures. The house was well stocked for the beach and the kitchen was well stocked too. It was a short 10 min walk to the beach and about a 15 min walk to Stop 50 restaurant for pizza. Everything in the house was brand new and it was clean and decorated beautifully! The owners were so helpful and super responsive. I would not hesitate to stay there again!

We had an amazing time at this property. Plenty of room for two families with 5 children combined. There was tons of open space to move around and spread out. We probably could have had another family there as well. Property was very clean and the neighborhood was very quiet. We would recommend this to anyone.

Fantastic stay
We booked a long weekend at the last minute, and this property exceeded all of our expectations. The pictures don’t do it justice - the renovations are first-rate. Stocked with lots of games and things for the kids, including the giant Lilly Pad for the water. The closest beach access was closed due to erosion, so the beach was about 4-5 blocks away, but still easy to walk to. Neighborhood is nice and quiet and a short drive from larger towns like New Buffalo and Michigan City. Would stay here again.

Great house and wonderful location!
So happy we found this place. The location is fantastic. A block from lake Michigan in a quite, secluded neighborhood. The home itself is like new inside with high-end touches (the kitchen...wow! And, a huge screened-in porch! Both huge pluses for us!), but still very homey and comfortable. We had more than enough space for our family. The house can easily fit two families if you have a big group. There's plenty of space and everything you need in the kitchen, which made it easy for us to stick close to home for the weekend. If you're looking to stay for an extended time (i.e., you're working from home all summer and want to get out of the city), you should check this place out.
