About this house rental
Tuck'd Away was built in 2017 and appropriately named as it is tucked right into historic downtown Saugatuck. Built to be architecturally significant and professionally decorated providing a unique option to enjoy Saugatuck.
Tuck'd Away backs up to Phil's Grill and is next to the downtown Methodist Church. A gate out of the back yard leads to Butler Street ( which is the main shopping block downtown ). You can walk to Kilwin's in about 300 feet. Walk out the front door and Lucy's Kitchen ( a local hotspot ) is across the street.
Despite being so close to everything, the lot is wooded and the backyard provides a nice level of privacy and screening. You really are Tuck'd Away in Historic Downtown Saugatuck.
Tuck'd Away was designed as a Modern Gothic Cottage. It is much larger than it appears from the front. With over 3,000 square feet of living space, it offers 4 full bedrooms, a 4 person bunkroom ( 5th bedroom ), 3 full bathrooms, designer kitchen, seating for 14, family great rooms on both levels, laundry room and a perfect screen porch that opens to the main living area. Even being tucked into the Downtown Village, the wooded lot and landscaping will surprise you with its sense of privacy.
If you have spent time in Saugatuck, you will appreciate that the driveway will accommodate 3 vehicles, with additional on street parking across the street. Of course, unless you leave Downtown to explore the region or go to Oval Beach, you won't be using your vehicle.
Tuck'd Away was completed from scratch in May 2017. It was professionally decorated in the Chinoiserie style. Great Rooms on both floors provide plenty of space for large groups to spend time together and also allows for the opportunity to retreat into smaller groups.
The kitchen is well equipped and accessorized. The combined seating of the dining room, island and breakfast table is 14.
The screen porch is a favorite spot. Large doors can be left open to the main floor great room, creating a flowing and expanded space. The screen porch enjoys a nicely landscaped and screened garden setting. The outdoor eating area seats 6 and has a Weber Gas Grill.
There are lots of great vintage homes in Downtown Saugatuck. As great as vintage homes are, they don't provide the same modern design, ease of living and quality as a new custom built home. Working closely with the Saugatuck Historic Commission on the design, many people will assume Tuck'd Away was built in the 1930's
We are happy to be one of the few homes that welcomes well mannered pets. Please note that if you plan on bringing your pet, you need to include them in your booking. When you are inputting the number of guests, you will want to make sure you add "Yes" to the pet question as well as add the pet information in the booking. There is an extra cleaning fee of $100 if you let me know in your booking. If there is any evidence of a pet being at the home without you including this in the booking, there will be a charge of $500.

Very nice and well located rental

Beautifully decorated property in the heart of Saugatuck allowing you to walk to shops and restaurants. The screened-in porch was a favorite spot to relax & read. The adult grandchildren had their separate space upstairs and enjoyed the professional Monopoly game.We would return in a heartbeat.

The house size and layout was perfect for our family of 11. The grandkids especially loved the upstairs play area and bedroom with bunk beds, as well as the yard to play in. Great location is within easy walking distance of things to do.

We just stayed here with 7 adults, a teen and a toddler and had an amazing time. It was plenty of space, we especially loved the screened in porch and backyard area for relaxing and eating. It was clean and well stocked for a rental property. It was relatively quiet despite just a short walk to a main shopping street, restaurants etc. Overall would highly recommend!

So cute and just a second away from all the good places in Saugy right out the backyard! The wifi was down but it didn’t stop us from having fun! :)

Although we had a rough start because cleaning ladies weren’t. Just a miscommunication on their part. Owner was communicative and they had it done in 2 hrs. We enjoyed the house and loved the location.

This is a beautiful property located in Saugatuck. The location is ideal for walking around town! The property itself is gorgeous, decorated beautifully, and very comfortable!

We stayed here for my sisters Bachelorette party. The house was perfect! It was conveniently located to all the fun things in Saugatuck. It also was bigger than I even realized with the photos. Everything was beautiful and perfect! I honestly couldn’t imagine a better home to stay for the weekend.

We had such a wonderful time at this property. Our group consisted of two families, each with three kids. There was more than enough room. The four oldest kids loved the bunk room attached to the upper great room which we designated the kid zone. It was decorated beautifully and tastefully with kid friendly animals. We had enough bedrooms for each of the younger kids to have their own room so they could sleep peacefully.
The bedrooms downstairs were spacious and beautiful. Lots of guest details were considered such as extension cords and plugs near night stands.
The kitchen was great, open concept with plenty of seating. Well equipped with cookware.
The location can’t be beat. We rarely needed our car the entire stay. We walked to Uncommon Grounds for Breakfast. Got take-out from Phil’s. Had lunch at Wally’s and dinner at Mitten brewing. It was so easy and convenient.
We will definitely come again. It is truly the perfect set up for families with kids. The mudroom is so great too. We didn’t have to leave coats and shoes all over the house.
My only suggestion, which is a really small thing, would be to stock more toilet paper and dishwasher pods.
The host was also very kind and responsive to all of our questions.
Looking forward to staying again!

My work group came back again this year for our annual retreat. When we wanted a break from work talk, we were steps from shops and restaurants. Communication with owner is quick and easy.

We are a group of 5 senior women(70+). We had a fantastic time at the Tuck’d Away Vacation Home. When we walked in, all we could say was WOW, WOW, WOW. We chose it for the close location to downtown Saugatuck. This was our second year participating in the Douglas Halloween parade. (We were the butterflies.) The host was very responsive to a coffeemaker that was not working. I sent a message and less than an hour later, there was a brand new coffeemaker delivered. We all said that this is the location that we will return to in the future. Thank you!

Great house and location. We first stayed there right after it was first available. We picked it again because it was perfect layout for us. You can tell it's been rented frequently - still a great house but owner should go through and do some minor maintenance to keep it to the standard it started at.

The house is conveniently located one block from town and plenty of bedrooms. Only wish the bunkbed room had a door. The house is very spacious. This was the second time our ladies group stayed here. First time the cleaning crew just arrived as we got there at 4 pm which wasn't appreciated. This time cleaning crew ran 30 minutes late. That would be my only complaint. Overall it's a very nice home and conveniently located in town. Was a great stay!

This house was perfect for our family and the location was perfect. The only complaint I have is the shower curtain in the first floor bathroom was very dirty. Just needs to be washed or replaced. Otherwise, we were extremely happy with our accommodations. Would definitley recommend

Everything was wonderful. Beautiful property, would be an understatement. Only issue was the ice and water from the refrigerator was really, really slow. Perhaps plugged? A grab bar in the downstairs shower would be a benefit, as one of our friends is handicapped. Other than that, absolutely no complaints. Everyone wants to return.

Lovely house and great location. Walking distance for shopping, restaurants and sights.
The house was adorable on the outside and very very nice inside with a beautiful kitchen.
We did the paddle boat river tour and watched the sun go down, had a fantastic time at a very accommodating Wally’s. After a nice evening fire (thank you for the wood) we took advantage of the spaciousness screened in porch.
All the activities were accessed via a little walk out the back yard gate. We would definitely stay here again!

This is our second visit to Tuck’d Away, and we had another great experience. The location can’t be beat, and the house itself was thoughtfully designed to accommodate families. The screened porch and back yard are the icing on the cake … we hope to come again!

We loved our visit to Saugatuck and loved staying in your stunning home. The home was beautifully decorated, clean and neat! The kitchen was well stocked. The screened in back porch was a wonderful place to gather. We made use of the back gate leading to Butler Street for shopping, coffee, ice cream and night life. We enjoyed the short car trips to beaches, neighboring towns and water activities. We would definitely recommend this home!

The house is exactly as described. Comfortable and chic. The kitchen is top notch. Beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms were spotless.
I had been interested in the property since before the pandemic and am delighted that the 10 of us - 6 adults and two sets of twins - were finally able to get together.

Our stay was great! We had 10 adults and 3 dogs join us for a long weekend at the house, and the property is exactly as described. There's plenty of space inside and outside, and we never felt like we were crammed in. You can't beat the location of this great house, and we'll be looking to book this same house next year!

Amazing in all aspects, not one negative thing could be said. The home is beautifully decorated, comfortable and bright and spacious. It was awesome having 4 full bedrooms with comfortable Q & King beds, didn't have need of the 5th bedroom which could have slept 4. Everything was clean and well maintained, and although you were surrounded by lovely garden, you could literally see the main shopping district of Saugatuck and her many fine restaurants. There were more than sufficient supplies to at least start the week; as described, there weren't pantry items but that is not a detriment at all, I normally expect to bring my own. Kitchen was a dream and very well supplied with anything you could want to cook in. Many thanks to the owner for furnishing this like a home I would like to live in permanently, not just a rental. We traveled from Atlanta, Chicago and parts of the Mitten, and all agree we will look at another date in warmer weather.

This house is very nicely decorated and was a lovely spot for a gathering of female friends. The house is very spacious. It doesn't feel beachy but is ideal if you want to wander in the lovely town of Saugatuck.

This property is exactly as listed! We had a group of 12 for a bachelorette and there was plenty of room for everyone and you seriously could not ask for a better location! No worrying about Ubers or anything. House was also very clean! Only suggestion would be more towels on hand or to bring extras when you travel, otherwise perfect place!

This is our second time staying at this fantastic home in Saugatuck. There just isn't anything like it. It's spacious and nice (relatively recently built) and the location is incredible. There is a small alley out the back that leads directly into the heart of town. It's literally a five minute walk to anywhere in town. So no parking worries. Just walk to shopping, coffee, restaurants, etc. Saugutuck is a great little town and for a four-day weekend there was perfect to relax and hang out. There was a hiccup on our trip. We arrived to an unfinished cleaning job with cleaning supplies out, beds unmade, etc. But the response from the owner was excellent. She was responsive by text and by phone. She apologized, scrambled a cleaning crew over to finish the job and refunded the cleaning fee. She said this has never happened before and seemed genuinely confused and perturbed. But it was fine. We went to dinner and it was cleaned up when we got back. Because of the rush job there were minor issues even after but nothing big. I thought the owner response was excellent. The house itself has so much to offer. It has four nice bedrooms that can each accommodate a couple plus there is a bunk room that can accommodate 4 more people (or kids). There is both a living room with a TV downstairs off the kitchen and a gaming area with a TV next to the bunk room upstairs. The kitchen is big and nice with decent cookware, utensils, coffee/tea makers, etc., but they do not supply basics like spices. We bring our own. Some cautions to just be aware of. First, there is not a close beach to this house. You have to drive to a beach. If you go during the winter like we did be aware that many shops and restaurants close for the season. In particular, we went to a couple restaurants that closed down from Jan 1 until the spring, so we were getting end-of-the season meals in late December and some menu options (wines for example) were not available.
Thankfully there are mainstay restaurants in town that do stay open and its a short drive to nearby towns with places to eat too. We love Saugatuck and this house is our favorite place to stay.

We had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay in this house again! It had a lot of space and was beautifully decorated!

Great location for our work team of 5 women to hold a retreat. We each had our own bedroom, and there were plenty of places to spread out comfortably to plan for next year. Restaurants, coffee, and shopping were steps away. Although this was in the property description, kitchen had all the pots and pans but there was no oil, salt or pepper, so you do need to bring everything yourself if you intend to cooking. Also we arrived at 4 and cleaner was there until 5. She was friendly and we didn't rush her but we did need to wait for her to leave to move our cars out of her way. Minor issues though compared to lovely house, great location and super responsive host Would rent again!

Our family goes to Saugatuck every Christmas time to join in their Christmas parade. We have stayed at multiple different homes - we have found our spot! Huge home comfortably accommodating 10, beautifully decorated, so comfortable and clean! We will be back

Incredibly and beautifully decorated home. This is an over-the-top rental, from the location, to the convenience, to the coziness....EVERYTHING was perfect. The owner was MORE than accommodating when we had a question for her. Loved staying there and have decided to stay there EVERY year for our Annual Christmas Shopping Trip!
It is too good to be true.

It’s a beautiful house literally steps away from Downtown Saugatuck. Two large bedrooms on the 1st floor, each with their own bathroom. Upstairs are two more bedrooms and a bunk room that opens to a 2nd floor tv/hang out space perfect for kids/teens. The kitchen is well stocked with plates, utensils, pans, etc.. washer/dryer on 2nd floor, gas fireplace, screen porch, bbq grill..house is perfect for entertaining a group and lots of space to spread out. Beautifully decorated.
Walk out your back door and in 50 steps find yourself in downtown next to Phil’s Bar. We found most stores & restaurants still open in early Nov. 20 mins away is Holland with Hope College and another cute downtown shopping experience. Don’t miss breakfast at The Windmill or the Grand Haven Escape Room - so much fun!!
Clearly this property is well taken care of and thoughtful consideration went into making guests feel comfortable. Our group of 4 had no criticism of the property and would stay again in a heartbeat. This was our 2nd time visiting Saugatuck and would recommmend this house to anyone looking for a great location and all the amenities of home.

Stayed for a girls weekend and we all loved sitting by the fire and also on the screened in porch to chat. Went shopping in the local stores that were just steps away. Great home for a girls get away.

Overall the description of the house and it accomodations were spot on. An alley short cut to the downtown shops and bars was super convenient. The house itself is beautifully decorated with all the amenities needed for our 2-night stay. One minus was that we came by an hour early to see if we could check in and a cleaning lady was sitting in her car with cleaning supplies outside. We were not able to get in until after 4:30 and only the first floor. There were other cleaning ladies on the second floor finishing up. We were there for a 4:00 wedding rehearsal and needed a place for change of clothes, makeup and what not. I'm just saying that if you require your guests to be out by 11:00 am then they should be allowed to be in when stated, 4:00 pm. Again, though, the house and location are tops for the area. Thanks for the use of this beautiful home.
