Beautiful location if you are looking for a nature escape. Surrounded my pine forests, ocean view and huge garden. Sabrina was helpful although we only messaged via WA. We appreciate that it is pet friendly and we loved Sabrinas dogs that were always close by.
The access is challenging especially if it rains as the steep road gets very slippery. Also, make sure you know what you're booking - it's a very rural place, you can expect insect or lizards coming to your home or bathroom. It gets worse if it rains :) We didn't mind but I can see that it could be problematic for some people.

The location is superb. Magnificent sunsets over the sea. By car about an hour from the airport by some interesting roads. The southern and northern ends of the island were within a couple of hours drive. The GR131 long distance footpath passes the entrance. Very quiet. Lovely starry skies at night. The main house (seen with its friendly dogs Blackie and Birillo) is a typical Canarian farm house. On the formerly farmed terraces there are three or four quirky timber buildings - we stayed in 'the bungalow', the largest of them. The terraces have a selection of very assorted seating, a basic barbeque and is a superb home for many (all completely harmless) lizards, birds and flowers. Inside we had available two double beds, simple cooking facilities, fridge, and bathroom. We thought the bathroom description 'de luxe' was rather overdoing it but the shower was very effective - one of the best we have met with the shower head displaying the temperature - and keeping it constant.
The host Sabrina kept in touch with excellent WhatsApp messages
We were granted superb weather (first week of January). It might have been less comfortable had we been confined indoors. The haphazard selection of outdoor 'furniture' was not very comfortable for meals.

Perfect location for the GR131 route, this is why we chose this accommodation. The views of the place are very nice, very calm country side area and beautiful. The man of the house is extremely nice, helpful and friendly, same than the woman who was all the time helping us via whatsapp although we did not meet her at the location. It is very nice that there is cold water in the fridge as well as beers and wine selection with fair price if you want a drink. The bungalow is basic and rustic, as the photos and description, but nicely decorated and cool. I like the place itself and I saw it as a perfect experience staying in the country side.
Unfortunately, I am sorry but I need to make a negative review here because the place was fully infected with cockroaches. As soon as we went to sleep, docens of them went out in the bedroom from the area close to the door towards the living room. They are very big and, as I said, many many. We spent the night killing few of them as we could and hearing the noises of the tons of them living in the structure of the building. We could not find any bug killing spray in the place and we could not sleep in all night. I feel bad for this because the woman and man from the house are very helpful and nice but staying in a place with those conditions is not nice and it totally ruined our trip because we needed a good rest for the hike...
A small detail was also the breakfast which, from our point of view, was very limited (just few cold pancakes) and not very nice for the price. I was expecting fruit and more options there but, as I said, a minor detail. We also asked for more coffee and we got it without any problem.

This is a rustic, closer-to-Nature experience--soothing in its simplicity. Million dollar view from 600 m above sea level amid the almond trees. The non-fluorinated volcanic soil filtered water is a definite plus. No one lives above this experience, so no water pollution issues. Fantastic view looking east if one hikes up to the ridge, one can see for kilometers and kilometers, even upon the lava flows of the recent eruption.
I should have stayed longer and brought a better gift for the host.

great view and very peaceful. shared bathroom was creatively decorated and clean. fine value for money if 3 people to a triple room and you’re looking for a budget option.
from photos of the triple room, it’s not clear that there is no window. but in reality, there is only a door which also has a small window, so the room is quite dark and stuffy. the triple room also seems to serve as storage as the corners and empty spaces were filled with furniture or unused (and not useful to us) items. additionally, the sitting area would have been much nicer if cleaned up a little more - there were some construction remnants and the grass/plants was quite tall to get to the chairs.

Very good location for hikes to Roque de los Muchachos. Chalet and the surroundings have the proper agro-touristic, relaxing vibe.
Staff is very nice and accommodating to your needs.
Very good car access from public road.
I liked some of the food (1st dinner was excellent), on the other hand 2 breakfasts were all-sweet (pancakes with exotic ingredients).
Chalet is advertised as having "private bathroom" but it is actually ca 15 steps away in another building, and accessible to other guests.
AbraCaRiBes allows dogs which is good if you travel with dogs, but other guests' dogs can also bark just below your window in the middle of the night, since they are allowed to roam free around the property.
Potential guests should be aware that local lizards are getting inside the apartment (did not do any harm, I actually liked them!).
Also some guests I think will not like that chickens walk everywhere, by your garden chair, on the path to the bathroom etc.
Location is remote, so should be quiet in general, but since walls are thin, you will hear other guests and noise from any repair works.

We liked our stay in this accommodation amongst almond trees very much. From the bungalow we could watch the sunset, the birds were singing around and it was very quiet at night. We also did some barbeque and enjoyed our time there. The feeling that you camp somewhere in the nature. We booked the deluxe bungalow with a sea view, as it was the only option with a bathroom inside. We travelled with a child, so it was more convenient for us. I must admit that it was much more expensive than the other options and probably next time, I would rather decide for a cheaper one. However, the bungalow is nicely located so that you have much more privacy. On one day, we did a hike from the accommodation up to Torre del Time - the main trail is very close and you can walk down the other trail which goes on the edge of the caldera. The host Sabrina was also very nice and helpful.
plenty of mosquitos at night - so don't leave the door open.

Staying at AbraCaRiBes was a great experience! The host was very friendly and helpful - a really nice spirit indeed!
The view of the ocean was amazing, the air was fresh, and the wooden cabin was comfortable and spacious. I would definitely stay there again! :)

Enjoyed my time there a lot. Very friendly owner and absolutely adorable dogs. Ideal for hiking, the trail starts right at the end of the backyard and connects to GR131 Caldera de Taburiente. Nice views all around. Quiet and peaceful. Ideal for solo traveller.

I really loved this place for many different reasons: First Sabrina, the host truly makes you feel immediately at home. She is authentically caring, fun and interested in connecting and in making your stay wonderful. Then the cabins are cozy and the view is incredible. One more thing I loved were the two lovely dogs and the chickens - so heartwarming!
