Overlooking the lake with many cozy places to hangout and a hot tub, this was the perfect place for a family getaway. We traveled here in the winter and are looking forward to returning in the spring.

The check in process didn’t go as expected. The house was unlocked, which ended up fine but just was a little weird. The place was clean and the host was INCREDIBLY responsive. We had different expectations from the pictures online in terms of waterfront. There technically is water in front, but we had little kids and thought they would be able to play outside in the water, but it’s mostly mud and sticks, no real sandy shallow area. The older kids were good getting the paddle boards in and out of the water, but it’s definitely not easy… the canoe is interesting taking it in and out. The access to water from what’s allowed is small, but it is manageable… just not super easy.
The host did let us use another boating area across the road, which was PERFECT for ALL the kids. Very pleased with how accommodating he was. The additional paddle board rental process was flexible and affordable, which was great.
Overall a fine experience. The bunk room needs a AC unit.

Would highly recommend this home. The owner was very attentive and answered all our questions promptly before and throughout our stay. House is beautiful and in a great location. Our family had a wonderful memorable week.

We really enjoyed the area. The paddle board, kayak, and canoe were really enjoyable, as was the hot tub. Loved the outdoor seating area. The busy road was a little concerning at first. The property manager was very kind and we were able to reach him easily.

Property could use a few updates. The porch was rotting near the grill which we noticed upon arrival. Unfortunately, a foot went through it. I alerted the property owner right away. Steve called me immediately and I asked for a board to put over it. I did not hear from him again and we did not recieve anything to cover the hole. If we had kids with us, this would have been a huge hazard.
The bunk beds were a little sketchy. Low ceiling and very rickety. We were only able to use the bottom bunks.
The listing is for 14 people but it does not sleep 14 adults comfortablely.
We also found dirty dishes in the oven.
Steve was quick to respond and gave us addionational trash barrels when requested.
We tried to use the dock that was shown on the map that we were allowed to be on but were yelled at by the neighbors.
Steve was helpful when it came to helping us find additional parking. The hot tub, fire pit and karaoke machine made for a fun weekend with friends.

If you have a large family or group traveling and just need a casual place to stay, this house is perfect. The host was great to have delivered to our doorstep a casserole dish!
Bluetooth speaker, microphones, the keyboard and guitar made for a fun karaoke night.
Cons:
-decks weren’t shoveled
-hot tub appeared old and dirty or rusted in spots so we didn’t use

It was a great stay and cost effective! Highly recommend!

Had a great winter weekend with our group of 8 adults and 2 toddlers. The house is cozy - you could put two more adults in the bunk room but more would likely feel crowded. Super close to Gunstock and some great winter hiking, and we walked over to the Alton Bay winter festival. Hot tub was perfect. Only downside is there's no dining table for the group, but there are plenty of chairs and places to be so as long as you're not doing a formal sit -down dinner it's great. Would love to come back, winter or summer!

This property was perfect for my family of 5, the house had everything we needed to enjoy our stay including games for the kids. Steven was easy to get ahold of when needed. Thank you!

Working with Vacanza was very easy. The host was very quick to help with providing additional parking as well as an alternative boat slip for my 20'x8.5' pontoon across the street due to the water level of the lake as we are currently in a drought. The onsite slip was very tight with only a few inches to spare on either side and very shallow (drought.) The main living room area has been updated nicely. Stove was missing from 2nd floor but we didn't need it. Main kitchen is a strip so not a lot of room with a few people in there. The neighbor was a little cranky the first day but waving at us by the end of the week. Host was very receptive to feedback regarding the stairway treads. Swimming off the Boatslip was not desirable. Grill and outside area was great. Kayak used as well. Within walking distance to some ice cream and foot. All in all for the price this was great week on Winni and the host was very good. Pic #17 may have snuck in from one of their other properties but all other photos are accurate.

As advertised and had a great time!
The property is as advertised. It is right on the water, but we did not bring a boat so cannot speak to that aspect. We appreciated being able to bring our dogs and enjoyed the backyard fire pit, jacuzzi and porch. Having two refrigerators was a definite bonus. We had 10 teens/adults and fit everyone comfortably. There is a lot to experience in the area and the kids liked walking to get ice cream at night. The a/c units were sufficient and kept the house cool enough for the summer days. The pantry had many “extras” that were nice and there were plenty of dishes between the two kitchens. If you are looking for fancy, this is not your place. If you want a place right on the lake with several spaces to spread out and need a place to recharge for your next day’s adventure, this place is for you! It was clean, but older and could use a good deep clean. However, it’s understandable that when the place is rented out non-stop, it is hard to accomplish. Steven was very easy to communicate with and extremely prompt. The cleaners didn’t leave enough sets of towels and sheets for everyone in our party and Steven immediately rectified the shortage. He went above and beyond with his customer service. We had a terrific week and appreciated the location. Another added convenience was the automated lock on the front door so there were no keys to lose or worry who had them if we split up and arrived at the house at different times. Thank you for sharing your lake house!

Great Location - "so so" house
The house was a little bit of a let down after seeing the pics online. It's rather dated and run down esp upstairs. But it was clean inside with plenty of fresh linens. Furniture not the most comfortable, but alas we spent most of our time outdoors. All in all a decent experience.

Great spot-Great communication
The rental property was wonderful. A ton of space indoor and out. Steve was my contact and was super responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

Alton Bay Carnival
This house is perfect location for tons of activities, we stayed during the winter which happen to fall on the Alton Bay Carnival week, we walked to the event and enjoyed a day on the ice, food and music.
We had 12 Individuals, we all had a sleeping spot, however it was tight during dinner and games. The hot tub was a huge hit!
Definitely would love to experience summer in this house.
Thank you!

Long weekend review
Overall this place seems to be in a good location and had plenty of space for a large group. The pictures are an accurate representation of the space. Steven was a very responsive host however there were some minor issues. We weren’t fully satisfied with the cleaning of the kitchen and cookware. This house seems to be equipped more a summer stay than a winter one due to poor insulation as well as low temperatures impacting hot tub staying warm. Overall would still recommend this house to someone for a summer stay.

Alton Bay trip
We reserved this house for our trip ( 3 families) total 12 (7 adults and 5 kids), thought this would be perfect place to stay for our trip, this place is too small and there are noo rooms to stay. Everywhere bugs (lots of lady bugs everywhere) and beds are not comfortable to sleep.

Everything we wanted!
This house was everything we wanted - it was a great location, had great amenities, and the house was very clean and organized. Great hot tub, fire pit, yard games, kayak, SUP, canoe, and comfortable accommodations for our group of 4 teenagers and 4 adults - could have comfortably fit more. Can’t wait to stay at the Lake House again!

Tight spaces
For a group of 12 people we were pretty tight. Not a lot of room for a large group to sit and eat or talk together. We didn’t spend a lot of time there as we were traveling throughout New Hampshire and Vermont so it was a great place to sleep and make our own food.

Perfect location!
Our stay was perfect! We were 10 women getting away for a long weekend. The home was very clean and had all the amenities we could want... The kitchen is stocked with utensils, pots, pans, 2 coffee makers dishes and even decent knives! The home is super cozy and close to everything. Grocery store, hiking and water! The host was also helpful every step of the way! Great choice!!!

Great long weekend away!
We had a fantastic time and really really enjoyed the home and property. This was our first time experiencing VRBO and it sure didn’t disappoint. The home was well maintained and comfy. Plenty of places to sleep. The kitchen was nicely stocked with everything but the food making it so easy for us to cook all of our meals. The grounds were beautiful and the little beach with the fire pit was just perfect. We utilized the kayak and canoe and hot tub. The home had everything we could have possibly needed. We hope to rent again in the future!

Nice spot in Alton Bay
House was very clean and well stocked with "nice to haves" to make your stay very comfortable. There is an amazing balcony on the second floor that overlooks the bay and is a perfect spot to have your morning coffee and watch the fireworks. Love that there was plenty of space for the family and that we could bring our dog with us.
Second floor gets alot of sun and when we were there were no blinds on the windows which made for an early start to the day.
While the slip has been recently redone, it is a tight fit and very tight to dock (we have a 19' jet boat) and there is a tunnel with a modest clearance (if you have a wakeboard tower) that you must travel through to get the boat out into the bay. This could be a bit sticky if you are a novice boater.
Seems like there has been some trouble in the passed with the neighbors and there are signs posted all over about "no trespassing", I understand the need for it but was a bit much to look at every day.
Owner was very responsive and very solution oriented when we had questions come up.

Fun family getaway
We throughly enjoyed our week on the lake! A little pricey but time with family is priceless. The house is older but is in a great location and plenty big enough to accommodate all of our family members comfortably. The neighbors were very nice and kind to us despite the other reviews we read prior to our trip.

Not as advertised
We were told when we booked last spring that a sandy beach area was going in and that you can swim at the property. That is not the case at all. The water is pure muck if you go in you will get stuck. Not at all what we thought we were getting. We thought we were paying for a private beach area not a fire pit area. Very disappointed that we had to drive everyday just to go to the beach. The boat house does not belong to the owner it belongs to the neighbor. You are not told that until it's to late to cancel. So all week that's your view. The neighbors are also very cranky. Also they walk through the property to access the boat house. So not private at all. The house is also located on a main road so not that great for small children. The hot tub was good but a little to much chlorine and if you ran the jets it burned your eyes. The house itself was as expecting in a rental. Needs some undateing and repairs. Overall it was clean on the surface but it needs I deep cleaning once on a while to be sure all the dog hair, screws, and fish hooks are not in the house. We at least made the best of what it was and tried to enjoy our stay. We will not return.

Great spot, lots of amenities and first class attention from Steve.

We loved the location of the home, we had a large group so the house was great and the location was perfect. The house is on the older side, the stairs going up to the second floor are a bit scary, which was a concern of mine for anyone who went up them. We did get a pontoon boat into the dock area, but it’s very tight and needs to be walked in slowly. The no trespassing signs needs to be respected 100%, we did have an issue with neighbor but Steve addressed it promptly. He was very responsive every time I reached out. We had an issue with trash pick up which was left from previous tenants until Thursday morning which caused a terrible smell not allowing us to hang out on the deck at night which stunk because there was only a few good nights weather wise. Overall The owner was responsive, he tried to get someone sooner but couldn’t. The hot tub was a big hit, the second floor living roomCame in handy, the location was great, the beds were not bad, the water access for kayaking or canoeing were great. The positives outweighed the negatives for sure.

This house definitely served it's purpose but was not exactly as advertised. A few things to note: 1. The private dock is really just a super narrow slip between the boat house and the property's sandy area. It's about 12 inches deep. 2. The sandy beach area is really a sandy fire pit area. If you choose to swim right there, you're stepping into about a foot of slimy muck at the bottom. 3. The bed in the 2nd floor "master" is really a pull out couch in an in law area. 4. There's no ac in the first floor bedroom with the full bed. 5. There are NO curtains or blinds on the second or third floor. Prepare to be up early; the sun is super bright. 6. The neighbor is a pretty cranky guy. Even though we abided by all the rules he still complained about something in passing, every day. So, with all of that out of the way, here are the perks: 1. We were able to swing our 21 ft. boat into the slip, which was AWESOME. We went to the sand bar in West Alton every day - definitely the place to drop your anchor and swim for a bit. Seriously, this was the best part of our trip. 2. The hot tub - fantastic. 3. It was super cool to be able to bring our dog and for such a small fee! 4. It's really close to a couple of ice cream stands and takeout places so the older kids were able to walk from the house and get some time out on their own. All in all, we had a fantastic time. This place just needs a few minor tweaks and it would be PERFECT.

Can’t control the weather
Steve’s place has a lot to offer…unfortunately, we could take advantage of most of it for several days of our vacation week! The lake, the hot tub, the fire pit…all great but the rain made them less appealing. Tons of room to spread out for the 5 teens, a grandmother, a bachelor and a married couple. Be advised, the king bedroom on the third floor is great but the stairs are treacherous.

Great location and Great Host!
We had booked the last week of June for our Mom’s 80th birthday and this house was perfect for our needs. Plenty of room for us to gather for laughs or to spread out to chillax! Steve, the owner, was very quick to answer the couple of questions we had (trash pickup and door locks). Everything about the house was comfortable. Plenty of towels and bedding. We had a couple of days of rain and temps in the 40s so those blankets came in handy! Typical New England! Despite the weather we enjoyed chatting on the deck and taking walks to the shops and restaurants. Although not everyplace was fully open yet, we found plenty to do. It’s a short drive to Weirs Beach for the boardwalk and we took the train ride. Another day we hiked Mount Major. It was a wonderful time and place to celebrate Mom!
