We had an amazing stay at Apartment Paulina in July 2024. The terrace and views are just stunning. We spent so much time there and was just amazing views and sun all day. Apartment has everything we could have needed and more. Lovely beds, great kitchen, excellent Wi-Fi , air con, Netflix, games etc. great to have washing machine also. The beach is a 3 min walk , with nearest restaurant, Marineo , great pizzas and La vela, really nice also. A few more minutes walk along the beach which is so safe are several more cafes, bars restaurants, we ate at Leonardo,s , Rarita, TOC, Ciao Ciao, all brilliant. Got the water taxi to Trogir a few times from the beach , a brilliant service and what a fab way to see this beautiful place. 5 euros each way, goes every hour from 5 pm to 10pm. The most relaxing holiday we have had in a long time and even with 2 teenagers , was plenty for them to do. Alison was so helpful with everything before and during our stay. We will be back for sure, so much more to see and do in this wonderful place.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay. Good value, easy walking distance to beaches and bars/restaurants. We were a party of 5 but only beds for 4 made up on arrival but extra bedding was brought a short while later. Would benefit from some simple updating/maintenance and the stairs made me a bit anxious as they were a sort of additional/non permanent addition and although they felt solid they could have been secured to the wall at an additional point but hadn’t been. Some of the shutters hard to operate and didn’t close fully to shut out all light. Beach cushions available to use which was handy. Beds comfortable though would have liked a few more pillows. On the whole though a good value comfortable apartment ideal to spend a few days exploring the area.

We had a wonderful break staying in Alisons apartment. The place was spacious and sparkling clean. The beach and local amenies were just a short 3 min walk away. We'll be back and will book this apartment again as our stay in Okrug was too short. Thanks to Alison and her team.

Perfect Gataway
Great location, easy short walk to restaurants, bars, beaches and supermarkets. The apartment was lovely and spacious and had everything we needed including a fantastic view. The surrounding area is beautiful, we were very impressed with Trogir, Duga, Okrug Gornji and Krka I will come back to explore more of Croatia and would be happy to book accommodation with Alison again.

Croatia is Beautiful
A wonderful holiday in a beautiful part of the world!
We rented a couple of Alison's apartments
We stayed in Nina, Anna, Christina and Paulina as all the family wanted to experience what this part of the world offered. Overall Croatia is a wonderful place and a place we will return too. All the family enjoyed the trip - there is so much to see and do.
We loved Apartment Nina, it is very spacious and we especially how quiet the area and apartment were. We experienced as much of Croatia that we could in the week we were there. Alison advised us to see Krka park and it did not disappoint, we stayed as long as we could there, it was so peaceful and being surrounded by it's natural beauty was nothing short of breathtaking. The weather was very good and we had everything we needed in the apartment for a truly wonderful stay. We loved it and are planning a return trip later this year. Thanks Alison

Great holiday, excellent location, beautiful views
We had a great week on Ciovo, Apartment Nina had everything we needed and we found it very comfortable. There were two large air conditioning units that kept the place really cool, we actually didn't use the two of them but if was good to have the second one incase we needed it. The kitchen was perfect and had everything in it, micro, oven, hob, fridge/freezer etc. We found the washing machine great, and the clothes dried in no time on the balcony, which was lovely - it has a fab view of the mountain side and of the sea as well.
Ciovo is a fun, friendly beach town with lots of families and young people alike. Days are spent relaxing on the beach and swimming in the sea and evenings are spent in the many beach bars and concerts; or just dining in one of the restaurants. We liked eating in 'Leonardo's' a pizza place by the marina, great stone-baked pizzas for about 3 pounds! I would advise people to bring a phrase book though as some of the Croatians we met do not speak English. The boat into Trogir is a fun inexpensive way to see this wonderful city. Trogir is a must see. The tiny cobbled streets are marvelous and the terraces are great to get a bite to eat or sip a cocktail. And the ice-cream is delicious! We went on one of the island hoping day trips and visited Solta and Medena, they were just beautiful and unspoilt. The week we were there must have been the hottest week all year, so the air conditioning was a life saver.
All-in-all this was a truly wonderful experience in which I have great memories. I have fallen in love with this part of the world and hope to return one day.
The apartment is so light and airy with everything you could possibly need. A very cosy place at the same time with a home away from home feel so we felt very comfortable from the start. When you walk out onto the balcony to reveal that stunning view over the sea it really does catch your breath. Alison was extremely friendly and helpful to deal with and answered all our queries and beyond.
Thanks Alison, all the best to you.......

A Perfect Stay - We all loved Trogir/Ciovo
We had a wonderful one week stay at Penthouse Nina. The apartment itself was spotlessly clean, very spacious and had everything that we needed really. We cooked in on many occasions but also ate out regularly. The restaurants are just a couple of minutes away. The beach is practically at your door step - 300 meters or so and the water is just so clear, like crystal clear with little fish at your feet. Some of the restaurants we ate at were superb, fresh fish, tender steaks and all of them had a number of veggie options. Two of our daughters are veggies and we were a little bit worried we might find it hard to find nice dishes.
We all loved the area and hope to return to one of Alison's apartments next year. Thanks for a great stay.

Nina was another lovely apartment - great location
Overall a wonderful stay in a stunning part of the world.. Will return next summer!
We rented two of Alison's properties, Paulina and Nina.. Very easy to reach Alison at any stage and the apartments were exactly as described - everything is there for a holiday stay. The smart tv was a bonus for movie nights with our friends, plus there's a free netflix account for guests use in Paulina.. The view from the terrace is to die for with unbelievable views of the sea and mountain.
We had so much fun in Croatia, we explored all the medieval sights and went Quad Biking another day which is great - we loved it! And we'll be back in 2020...

Split is a beautiful city, great apartment!
We had a very enjoyable stay at Apartment Nina. The beach was less than 5 minutes walk away. The apartment was spacious as it was a duplex and there is an air con unit upstairs and down. The location was why we booked this property and we were thrilled we could walk everywhere.

Great Trip in a Stunning Part of the World
These are wonderful apartments in a stunning location. We stayed in June and had such a good time that, when the opportunity arose, I returned in September. It was as enjoyable as the first trip and it felt different as the tourist season was coming to an end. We were more adventurous this time and went for drives in the mountains, lovely walks, found new (hidden) beaches and visited Krka National Park.
Behind the apartments there’s a quiet road that leads to the most spectacular beach and private coastline. This was only a 15 minute walk along a residential road and the locals seemed to be the only ones who knew the beaches. We travelled 1hr to Krka National Park and swam in the lake at the giant waterfall which was amazing! We had packed a lunch because the restaurants there can be busy and expensive. The walk to the waterfall was spectacular and the 2km journey takes a long time because you have to stop to appreciate the views so often. The city of Split is 50 minutes away by car so we rented a hotel room and explored the gorgeous city over 2 days. The old town has a clock tower that can be climbed and there are traditional Klappa singers in the square entertaining passers bye. The tours of the castle and dungeons are worth a visit and the shopping district in the new town is very tempting.
The apartments are in the most suitable location directly opposite a local beach and 5 minutes walk to restaurants, beach bars and a taxi-boat to Trogir. The Croatians are available to help when looking in shops but they are not “pushy” or rude if you don’t want to make a purchase. Overall I found Ciovo an ideal base to explore Croatia or to relax and Alison is great to deal with.
The apartment is as pictured, very clean, well stocked with kitchen essentials and all mod cons, excellent wifi, smart tv and very comfortable to stay in. The balcony is a great feature as we were not in such a rush to go to the beach to sunbathe when we could lie out on the balcony with plenty of privacy and sun. However, the beach is beautiful and is less than a 5 minute stroll so we enjoyed relaxing there occasionally. The beach restaurants are a nice place to go for lunch, we went to Leonardo’s restaurant a lot for dinner and also went into the local old town of Trogir for it’s charm. There is a beautiful coastal walk with swim areas about 15 minutes behind the apartment which we walked regularly as the scenery and residential area is breathtaking. Overall a great holiday.

Penthouse Nina - A Wonderful Week - BEAutiful spot
James B.
We rented two of Alison's apartments - Paulina and Ellie as we had a family celebration. The apartments we really clean, well equipped and being next door to each other meant we had our privacy as well as the convenience of being close by for dinners etc.
Alison was great and booked us a restaurant in Trogir for my Mam's 60th. We ate in TRS and it was the perfect place for it, the courtyard is surrounded by grape vines and beautiful decor.
The apartment is in an excellent location and it's walking distance to all amenities. The beach is about a 3 minute walk. We will most likely return and would recommend this place (area and apartments) to others.
Thanks for a great stay.

Wonderful Week
Hi all..
The holiday in Trogir (Ciovo) was absolutly perfect. I have to say that Trogir is the most powerful place in whole Croatia. We had nice weather too, over 34Celsius every day ( from 7.-14. August).
It is about 3 minutes to sea from the apartmant... 1minute to the nearest market.
For people who are interested in sightseeing, you can travel by water taxi (20kuna/person) to Trogir or take local bus (10kuna).
We were in Trogir for 3 times. It is the jewel of Croatia. There are gorgeous monuments, romantic restaurants, fantastic shops and so on.
This place is good for all generations. We were party of 6 young people (20-25 years) and we had realy good time.
Our apartment was fantastic. Same like in pictures.I know that I will come back in future with my friends (maybe next year). All were new and clean."Thumb up"! =)
Comunication with housekeeper was good because she is young women with skilled english, so there were not any languages problems.
Thank you for brilliant holiday. Mark

Wonderful Spot - Quiet & in an Excellent Location
Our group of six adults arrived at our wonderful apartment having followed excellent driving directions from the Split Airport. We were greeted immediately by Vladimir, who showed us to our apartment, and took the time to go out and purchase an electrical adapter to replace one we'd lost in a bag on our way to Croatia from the US. He did not need to go out and purchase the adapter, but insisted upon going out and finding a new one for us.
We had the most wonderful and relaxing week. The apartment provided privacy for each of us, and was a fantastic place to come back to each night. It was extremely clean, and much care has gone into keeping it nice. We especially enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets from the balcony which overlooked the harbor. It was truly gorgeous at all times of the day.
The apartment was incredibly quiet which was also appreciated. At night there was very nearly complete silence which made our stay restful and peaceful. The apartment is a short walk from many delicious restaurants, bars, and a great beach. It is also a short drive, or 4km walk from the island of Trogir which we spent many hours exploring. The open air market is lovely and has some of the best fresh produce we've ever eaten.
We couldn't have asked for a nicer owner, or caretaker of the place, as Allison and Vladimir were willing to answer any questions we had, and help with anything we needed. The only problem we had with our vacation? We had to leave at the end of the week and head back to reality.
Thank you for providing us with such a beautiful place to stay.

Brilliant Holiday
I spent ten days in this apartment and I had a fantastic time. We spent many a lovely evening sipping wine, reading books and watching the sun set over the mountains.
The apartment was spacious and clean with high ceilings and amazing views of the sea and surrounding mountains from the balcony. The bedrooms were bright and airy and furnished beautifully and the kitchen is fitted with all the amenities you'll need.
The location of the apartment is ideal. It took us less than three minutes to reach the beach and the main town is a leisurely stroll away. There are plenty of restaurants, shops, cafés and bars in the area to cater for all tastes. The sea is calm and clean and perfect to cool down in while you are enjoying the sun on the beach.
We had a wonderful holiday with great memories and I would highly recommend this apartment and this area of Croatia in general.

very overpriced for what it is. - well what we paid anyway
So, I think I need to write a more grounded review. It also sees that the apartments reviews get mixed up a bit so this is a review of our stay at apartment Susie for two weeks end of July beginning Aug 2018.
The best way to describe the apartment is, functional! I'll start with the interior. Yes it has a double hight Kitchen/Living room, great lots of space above me.
The upstarts bedroom has sloped ceilings so don't get up quick and the blind is useless expect lots of light early morning.
The upstairs toilet is set right back under a sloped ceilings you almost have to crawl to get to it. and if your over 5 foot duck when walking down the stairs or you'll crack your head.
The photos are a bit misleading as they are a mix of all the apartments. phots, 20,21 and 22 are Susie. the bedrooms are not similar to the other apartments. they are small
The balcony is tiny with 2 aircon units that drip and are very noisy. We were 4 people so trying to all sit out and not get dripped on was not the easiest.
There are no staff on site as advertised. its an apartment block with mainly locals and a few others are rented, The contact your given for the "manager" just gets annoyed when you call him to get the keys.
You have to pay a breakage deposit. no idea why they just come to the door at an arranged time and hand it back and go.
The location pin on Homeaway is wrong its set back much further from the beach then advertised.
Now onto the area.
Okrug is essentially just lots and lots of apartments blocks, and heavily populated during the tourist season , the beaches get very crowed, wherever you go on the island. if you have not got your towel down by 6am don't expect a good spot, ignore the closest beach and the main Copacabana beach, if you want true clear waters you need to head to Put Tatinje or Duga. again they get busy quickly. or get a boat to another island.
if you go out to eat in the evening get the water taxi/bus only 60kn for 4 to Trogir. It as a much better atmosphere and restaurant then Okrug, expect to queue in either if you have not reserved.
Overall I can't shake the annoyance over what I paid for the apartment. At least the locals got a good laugh out of it, and delight in showing me apartments for half the price.

A Perfect Place To Relax And Unwind
The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed! Aircon was brilliant and kept us lovely and cool. The kitchen was equipped with all the necessary things to make tasty meals. There was lots of DVD's we could watch in the evening and the TV had English channels which was a bonus. The balcony had fabulous views and we loved enjoying sitting out here for our breakfast or in the evening with a glass of wine.
The area had lots of of bars and cafes along the beach to grab a drink and a supermarket very nearby to stock up on things.
It was easy to get in contact with Alison - She was very helpful with any questions we had. She gave us lots of tips about the area and gave us a contact for a great taxi company which we used all the time.
Definitely will be staying here again would recommend to anyone.

Beautiful place and location
Gorgeous place and location. Apartment has plenty of space, great kitchen and dining area with lovely balcony, amazing views. All amenities within walking distance. Beautiful beach a few minutes walk away. Recommend beach bar/restaurant called La Veda for lunch and Leonardo’s Restaurant for dinner and also very handy for take away. So nice to go into Trogir by boat would recommend Restaurant Pasike for lunch&dinner and Caffe Bar Bella for ice cream there, all have tasty vegan options. Had such a relaxing stay in a beautiful part of Croatia. Would highly recommend to stay here.

Relaxing and exciting
I returned to the island of Ciovo for the 3rd consecutive year in June this year. We travelled as part of a group from Ireland, 2 couples went for 2 weeks and for the second week we were joined by another couple with their 2 children ages 6 and 9.
I booked the accommodation with Alison again because she’s very reliable and made a huge effort to find something that suited our needs. 4 adults checked into apartment Anna on arrival and we stayed there for the first week. Anna is a spacious and airy duplex apartment with one en-suite bedroom upstairs and another bedroom and main bathroom downstairs, giving both couples some privacy at night. The living area is double height with a feeling of spaciousness and this also helped with keeping the space cool. The balcony has beautiful views across the Adriatic and Ciovo mountains and forests. For the second week we moved to Apartment Ellie with the family of 4 who joined us. Ellie exceeded our expectations, what a beautiful apartment and it’s very large!
(I’ve reviewed our activities and Apartment Ellie under the Ellie tab).
I was hoping the other couples would enjoy the holiday as much as I did (because I suggested the location when we decided to holiday together!) and everyone genuinely loved it. They were most impressed with the convenience of the location and amenities and of course the local attractions.
Alison, you’re a star… thanks so much for having us and I’ll be talking to you soon to book next year’s holiday, looking forward to it already!

Our Best Holiday
This beautifully spacious holiday apartment exceeded all expectations. We have two children aged 6-16 and there was plenty of space for all of us. Everything we needed was in the apartment from a washing machine to fans in the rooms, which we certainly needed in the evenings, sun loungers and everything you could wish for in a kitchen. The location was perfect with wonderful views across a small bay and beach which we found was great for an early evening dip. During the day you can jump into the sea from small jettys dotted along the coastline. Great for adventurous kids ! This was all a five minute walk away. We walked everywhere which wasn't a problem at all. The local beach resort was a fifteen minute slow walk but very enjoyable whatever time of day we did it. We would set off in the morning for a day out and walk to the main town. Here was a fab beach with inflatables for the children and dozens of classy bars restaurants and shops. You can hop on a small ferry here and take the 15 minute boat trip to beautiful Trogir town, full of history, restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. We did this on a few occasions in the evening and sampled Croatian music and dancing. We caught the bus to the city of Split. Worth a visit but very busy at the bus station with back packers. In all I would highly recommend this apartment, location and holiday destination. We had one of our best ever holidays here and I am sure we will return one day. On another note we found the whole area very cheap to eat out, drink and shop for food. Ice-creams for the kids worked out around 50p and a pint of beer was less than a pound. There is absolutely loads to do and see in this part of Croatia and not too far from the airport but far enough. We had never visited the country before. The landscape is breathtaking and the Croatian people very welcoming. Well done Alison for offering your lovely holiday home in such a perfect holiday location.

A Return Stay - Great Location and Apartment - 5*
We have stayed in Alison's gorgeous apartment before, we fell in love with Ciovo and decided to come back in 2017. The location of Penthouse Paulina is perfect - you can walk to the beach, restaurants, amenities etc. The pictures are great but don't do it justice. The view from the apartment is STUNNING. We would chill out here in the morning, take a swim in the afternoon and then sip a glass of wine on the terrace and watch the sun set. Really peaceful, beautiful and quiet. Split has so many things to offer. Alison told us she finds new things to do after 13 years of holidaying here and we well believe it. The locals are friendly and accommodating - our child had a tooth ache and one of the staff in the local restaurant, Leonardos, drove us to the dentist. Overall we had another great trip and we will most definitely stay at Penthouse Paulina again. Thanks! Julie and Co x

Our Croatian Dream Holiday
Thanks for a excellent stay in the Susie apartment!! We stayed 3 persons for 3 weeks and 12 days in the middle of the stay we were 5 persons. We really enjoy the stay! The apartment and neighbourhood was great. Especially the well equipped (almost new) apartment, nice terrace, nice bath/water and Trogir (market in the mornings and walks in the evenings)..
In Okrug we can recommend Katrina's (2 minutes walk) for the dinners and the excellent service and Leonardo's (in the harbour) for pizza, sallads, etc in the middle of the day.
In Trogir we can recommend the restaurant The End (recommended in the Welcome pack) and we think almost all places for ice-cream and refreshments.
To buy food we recommend Kerum which is located across the street from the main beach.
One day we took a full-day boat trip (Okrug-Solta-Okrug)wich was very worth it's price and all-inclusive with refreshment (incl local drinks) and food (grilled fish). Highly recommended! It was the same nice boat with wooden deck that was used for taxi in the evenings and the tour started and ended in the harbour in Okrug.
But for other excursions the heat stopped us. We only managed bath, relaxing in sun/shadow, eating/drinking (what can be better than a half litre of Karlovacko and a pizza or sallad in the shadow at Leonardo's in the middle of the day), relaxing and enjoying the breathtaking view (incl sunset over the sea and mountains) at the terrace in the evenings and relaxing walks in the evenings.
The service in the apartment from Vlado must of course be mentioned as well. Nothing was impossible for him!!.
Thanks again!

Excellent Apartment in Beautiful Setting
My husband and I spent a week in this 2 Bed duplex in early October. We had a wonderful holiday in this truly amazing place. From our first contact with Alison she was extremely helpful, professional and went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure our stay was comfortable and relaxing.
This apartment is very clean, spacious, beautifully furnished and tastefully decorated. It truly is a home from home with all mod cons. The view from the very large terrace is breath taking and a perfect place for lunch or dinner on a sunny evening – It’s the perfect oasis for reading and relaxing and we had breakfast there some mornings. There is a mini market just a 5minute stroll, well stocked with fresh breads and local produce. It’s also jus t a short walk l to the beach with its magnificent crystal clear waters and many beach bars serving coffee and drinks. As it was the end of season, some were closed but we enjoyed it being not so busy. We had a great selection of excellent restaurants in the village, Villa Catriona and Leonardo’s to name but a few and we were not disappointed. The fish was excellent and we found the people very friendly and helpful and we look forward to returning.
Great location for visiting Trogir, 5 minutes by car and we walked a few days. It just takes 15 to 20 minutes, and we thoroughly enjoyed the many changing vistas on route. Trogir is a little gem with its wonderful architecture, cobblestone streets and historic buildings. Many restaurants line the harbour and we ate in one recommended by Alison and we loved it. We visited Split and took the ferry to Hvar.
This apartment is situated in an excellent location and is perfect for exploring the beautiful coastline. We look forward to returning and have no hesitation in recommending Apartment Susie.

Beautiful apartment and location
Dear Alison, I would like to thank you for my recent stay with my friend in your apartment in Croatia. It was indeed very comfortable, bright and airy, with a wonderful view of the bay from our living room window, a well stocked kitchen with everything we needed and the apartment was spotlessly clean. To be so near the beach was great, only five minutes away and only stunning. The beach cafes were great, we had really good lunches and so affordable. With many restaurants to choose from our favourite was Leonardos - where we were dined most nights. We loved its style, and the food and wine was really excellent - we enjoyed the chat with the staff who were very friendly. We always took the boat taxi to Trogir, a 20 minute trip to a beautiful town, well worth a visit, again excellent restaurants and the markets were great. We also visited the World Heritage site at Krka. That trip was well worth the journey as it was one of the most beautiful places I have visited. We also stopped in a Vineyard on the way home, so we all arrived really happy and relaxed to a very comfortable apartment.. Overall our holiday was really wonderful, we intend to go back again next year. I do hope we left the apartment as clean as we found it as it is hard to reach your high standards.
