Beautiful , comfortable , warm - beds were very comfy. Great kitchen. Beautiful village. There was a book of walks around Castle Combe which I did and were really lovely - you wouldn’t have found them without the book. Easy access to house.
It would have been really helpful to have some information about how things worked eg TV and where they were eg Teatowels. The stairs were pretty steep and wouldn’t be suitable for some guests. Parking is a challenge.

the property is in a fantastic location and oozes bundles of charm. It made the most perfect base for exploring the area or taking time out to relax in the hot tub or by the roaring fire.

The Old Court House was very well maintained, clean and as advertised! Such a rich history we found fascinating. The location was central to all thing Castle Combe (albeit a very small village). Castle Combe is literally like stepping back in time and absolutely overflowing with charm and beauty! The locals are warm and sell ice cream and cakes right out of their homes! PS. Castle Inn dining was exceptional.
The stairs leading to second story bedrooms are quite steep and challenging for my older Mum, but she managed.

A quintessentially English cottage in a beautiful village. Very well equipped and comfortable with a well stocked Kitchen. The vaulted cathedral ceiling in the Master Bedroom with a four poster bed completed our wonderful relaxing vacation in the Cotswolds.
We enjoyed everything.

Cottage was full of character. Nice to have a hot tub to use too.
Lighting/electrical issues & lack of cleaning products.

parking is hit and miss how far away you need to park your car

Absolutely perfect - a wonderful Christmas location for our family. We were also delighted by the Christmas tree, candles and lights that our host had provided.

The property was superb
So quaint and very comfortable and in a great position in the centre of the village
Very spacious and well equipped
It also had a hot tub which we didn’t use but was a great addition to this wonderful cottage

Nice and quiet property. Nice towel s and bedding from the White Company.
Historical charm.
Fully appreciate it is over 500 years old, but there was a smell in the property. The stairs, and the stair carpet are not for the fair hearted!
It would have been nice to have a welcome information pack, giving details of the property.
No information regarding kitchen waste.
Perhaps the chimney needed sweeping, as the fire would all but go out when the door was closed.

An amazing home with everything you need for a week away! Marlit (host) was willing to answer questions at any time and was keen to help in any way he could. The accommodation is right in the middle of the village and the lady across the road sells great cake, as my husband found out! There is always parking available up the side road and we never failed to find a space. The pub is two doors up and serves great food, lovely atmosphere and friendly locals. Plenty of walks and great for photography. We loved staying in a historical home and would certainly return.
we really wanted to stay an additional week, as it was so lovely but they were busy! we will be back.

The house is beautifully furnished and bang in the centre of town so very convenient and feels special. There was a huge amount of character in the property, the location couldn't be bettered with walks nearby and a couple of local pubs in the village and the hot tub was a bonus. While there were some cons, the house itself, the location, the hot tub, the high level of furnishing and homely feel, together with the selection of books and boardgames available to use made this a fantastic stay that we would happily go back to (in off peak season). The host was very communicative and responsive on messages and flexible with our check in and out times.
The main disadvantage is there is NO allocated parking at all. Parking was always a hassle involving circling round and round the village in the car waiting for someone to leave and usually involved us leaving the car in a country lane a few mins walk away. There is a car park even further away (5-10 mins walk) but if you have luggage or mobility issues this can be frustrating. I'm sure in off season this won't be an issue but if you are separate people arriving in separate cars like we were this was an issue to consider.
Also for some people privacy may be an issue - the fact you will be staying in one of the most beautiful houses in one of the most picturesque villages in the Cotswolds, with no front garden means you are very visible to the hordes of tourists taking pictures of the house you are staying in and peering through the windows. Net curtains offer privacy but stepping out of the front door into groups of people posing outside the house may put some people off - but we were totally fine with it and made the experience more special! The tourists tended to only be there from around 10am to around 6pm (in August 2021).

Absolutely perfect Location and beautiful, Dog-freindly Cottage, with a very attentive Hostess (Marlit) and added special touches, such as the Nespresso Machine, Hot Tub and Barbecue, made our trip perfect in every way. Thank you so much!

Absolutely loved this property! Stunning rooms, so comfortable, excellently presented. Six of us enjoyed our stay and spent a lot of time in the hot tub! Kitchen and dinning is well stocked. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay right in the centre in Castle Combe. Treat yourself!
Parking is not onsite. We parked on the road close by and there is also an actual car park about 5 mins away if you can’t find roadside parking.

It was easy to get messages answered quickly and Marlit was very helpful/thorough. It was really simple to get the keys and the cottage was very clean/neat. Lovely bed linen and plenty of towels. The kitchen had all the equipment you would need if cooking alot. The hot tub was used a couple of times. Great for after golf!
The location was great with lots of walks (and by the Manor House Hotel) with a pub two doors up. The Castle Inn was fab for lunch even with a puppy.
If you want a traditional rustic cottage I can highly recommend it.

Comfy Sofas, lovely log burner (chilly evenings and draughty room)! Quality furnishings and carpets.
Hot tub was overdosed with chemicals and not very clean. It gave my daughter a rash! Very small courtyard garden, better use would have been outdoor table & chairs.
Lack of storage in kitchen cupboards and bedrooms. The cottage was full of the owners personal belongings including food and drink! Very messy cupboards and drawers. Various maintenance issues. Shower room and bedroom doors on landing number one would not close as poorly fitted. Glass shower door would not close hence leakage. No lock on shower room / toilet door. The duvet was too small for the bed, and the mattress topper kept sinking into the join of the bed base. Some redecoration required in bathroom on landing two.
