About this house rental
Comfortable three bedroom cottage that is ideal for a family get-away. We have a lakefront parcel and dock to accommodate boaters and easy launching of kayaks! The secluded backyard and abundance of trees is also ideal for fall colors.
Our location is also only 3.5 miles from downtown Jamestown and attractions such as the Lucille Ball museum.
The property consists of 2 homes built in the early 1900s. The back house is where we keep the kayaks, grill, fire pit and other outdoor items. Grill your meals from the back house porch while watching boats enter and exit the southern tip of Lake Chautauqua. The back house is included as part of the regular rental.
In the main house, the 2 primary bedrooms each have a queen bed, and the 3rd bedroom has a twin as well as a twin size trundle bed. All 3 bedrooms are on the second floor. The fold out couch and futon in the living room can accommodate additional guests.
The kitchen is very spacious and has plenty of counter space. And the property itself is fairly private with fencing along 2 sides and the creek bordering the other 2.
Kayak rental is also available.
You can make use of our 6 available kayaks throughout the duration of your stay for a $60 fee, which can be added to the booking.
The lakefront property is basically just across the street and maybe 30 yards from the driveway. This is an ideal spot for fishing, relaxing and viewing sunsets. And if you have a boat we also have a dock available on the lakefront property. The water depth at the dock can go down to about 27" though, so it's best suited for a pontoon or a boat with a lower draft.

The property was amazing...the house in front was under construction. So that was a little much but Erik and out cottage were a.azing

We had a wonderful stay! Erik was very accomodating and responsive when we messaged with questions. The house was listed accurately and was clean upon arrival. We had a great time on the lake with our boat and would love to come back in the future!

We had a nice stay . Loved the property and especially the boathouse. Had a few issues with neighbors who were working on their cottage — noise — and a few times they blocked the entrance with their cars. This cottage reminded me of a cottage from a bygone era

Over a good little house. Not of fan of the accordian doors even on the bathroom (i realize its small but bathroom privacy with one bathroom right off the eating area). Have to admit when i seen the neighbors house as you enter the property i was a little nervous. How ever the actual house was old but charming. Air conditioning situation could be a worry if the one person who has it keeps there door shut and or it on low. Access to lake great. The "creek" is more a swamp and can make the mosquitos a little much! Over all a bargin for the area.

5 nights with our adults daughters where memories of water fun, board games, barbecue, and sight seeing were had this week at Spring Creek Cottage. We are super flexible and a chill family and had 5 adults staying at the cottage. LOVED the boat house to play games in, the rocking chairs around the campfire were so comfy, the lawn was mowed, towels placed in every bed, kitchen was clean and had everything needed. It is a short walk to the dock and is perfect for bringing along a boat(which we didn't have so we rented rhe kayaks and canoe!). Perfect time spent with our family!

Erik the owner of the property was just excellent to deal with from start to finish. The house was perfect for us and thankfully it had air conditioning! We were there during the hottest week in June . The place was clean and had everything we needed. The separate boathouse /game room in the back was a bonus too. The dock was perfect for my fishing boat and to do some fishing from . I know the stairs leading to the three upstairs bedrooms are mentioned in other reviews and yes they are something to be mindful of if you are traveling with older folks or others with limited mobility but 2 of us had no issue with them . Thank you again Erik for an awesome experience, I have a feeling we may look you up again.

Property was exactly as described and as shown in photos. Host was very responsive, welcoming and accommodating. A nice stay all around.

We had a great time on our first trip to Lake Chautauqua. This property came with several kayaks of varying size; kids could fish in the creek or off the dock; great size yard for Cornhole, spike ball, and more. My husband loved the dock for his fishing boat. Lots of extras provided: charcoal and lighter fluid for the grill, games, life jackets, seasonings, foil, plastic baggies, extra toilet paper and paper towels. We didn’t spend much time inside other than to sleep, but the cottage is rustic feeling.

Cottage was so fun! Loved knowing how old it was! We were 8 people, which was lots for 1bath, but it all went well. Fire pit was a gold star, plus the wood provided. Well equipped kitchen and no shortage of chairs for all of us. Would have liked at least one full length mirror, but no big deal. Had a blast! Thanks, Erik for your hosting and generosity. Erik made things all go well.

First, I went with my 2 teenagers. It was such a unique set up with the boathouse and the creek. The house was very clean and had everything available. It’s an older house with a lot of character. The sunroom was perfect for morning coffee and all the birds, bunnies and 2 ducks visiting was an added bonus. The boat house was a great hang out place with a game table, games and a TV. Bonfire pit was perfect as well. The owner communicated well and had a book of area things to do, restaurants and grocery stores. The kayaks were a lot of fun and having a private dock was nice. I would highly recommend this place. Thank you to the host!

Group of 8 nurses in town for a conference. The place was clean, adequate, affordable, and quaint.

Me and a few friends stayed to watch the eclipse. We loved the location - close enough to town to get essentials but in a quiet neighborhood. We watched the eclipse sunset over the lake and it was so beautiful! We loved watching the birds on the property. Our only qualm was the bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan so it got a little humid

We came up to the area for one night to celebrate the New Year with family who have a lake house in Greenhurst. Erik was awesome to work with. They even had a bottle of bubbly and some NYE favors for us which was a nice touch. Very clean. My only piece of information to pass on is the steps upstairs will be difficult for older folks or those with mobility issues. It was no problem for us or our kids.

It was a great stay, unfortunately not long enough!! Went out for 2 days had great communication with the owner, very timely responses. Not many people around but the ones we saw were friendly neighbors. Will certainly stay again, went fishing off the dock with no luck was a little shallow for the time of year. Next time i will have a boat to get out for musky.
All and all i would recommend it.

We enjoyed our stay. We were only at the cottage for 3 nights so we basically just slept there & ate breakfast there. The kitchen was well equipped and clean. The "Lake" decorations were a very nice touch -- they made it feel like home.

Cute cottage. Great location. couple miles off of 86. 10 minutes to Bemus Point. LOVE the back building porch and the fire ring area.

The cottage and "boat house" are both really cute, quaint and well maintained. I spent alot of time outside enjoying the little stream right there as well as the birds, chipmunks and ducks :) and I would often walk over to the private dock for amazing lake views - you can also see the lake from the porch on the boat house. We utilized the fire pit several times. The location is very nice and quiet.
The stairs are a bit tight, but there aren't many of them so it was doable. Bedrooms were perfect for me and my daughters and grandson. We were puzzled by the lack of real doors to close and lock (2 bigger bedrooms and the bathroom).
It was an amazing stay and we hope to rebook in the future!

Was stopping by the area for a few days
Erik was very responsive and accomodating. Had a nice time.

This property was clean and ready for our arrival. The owner, Erik, was very responsive. We didn’t know how to use the smoker grill so we cooked on the gas stove in the kitchen. It’s a short walk to the lake and dock and the community is quiet. We got out in our rented kayaks only once due to weather. The location was great with attractions like the Lucy and Desi Museum and Midway Amusement Park just a short drive away. This property was perfect for our needs, but I would not recommend it to families with toddlers. As you can see in the photos, there is a lot of water around the house. All in all, it was a nice stay and the kids enjoyed playing the games in the cottage.

Very nice and relaxing. Would go back in a minute

Wonderful stay

We stayed for a family fishing trip. Kitchen/gas stove was fantastic during meal times. Little creek is cool. We cooked out and relaxed on the outdoor porch. The indoor porch was great when it rained.
Ours was a short trip and the dock was great, but for a die hard fishing group, there's no electric access at the dock for charging your batteries.
For older visitors, just know there is only 1 bathroom downstairs...all the bedrooms are upstairs.
Thanks,
Steve.

Erik was great to work with and went out of his way to help us gain 2 more kayaks for our travelers. The house is in a great spot near the lake and it was a great time

Very easy to communicate with. We asked for some extra's at the last minute and he went above and beyond to make it a great stay. Hope we can do it again next summer.

Beautiful property with excellent location by both a quiet creek and the main lake itself. Kids loved every moment of the creek, short drives to state parks, overall great time

Property was as advertized. Great view of the creek and the lake from the side porch. Good location to get to local attractions. Had everything we needed for a quiet week-end.

Property was clean, adequately stocked with day to day needs. Perfect for a Fall get away spot. Owner more than accommodating. Very nice stay.

Great place for family to gather outside. Love the fire pit and the feeling of privacy. House was older but had a charm. The leaves were beautiful this time of year. Everyone enjoyed their stay and the host was great.
4.8
We enjoyed the quiet, quaint property reading, watching birds, and the solace of the lake views.
4.8
Not only was the property and the location great, Erik has the place set up very well to make for an enjoyable stay! We loved getting out on the kayaks.

We definitely enjoyed our stay this past Labor Day weekend. We had a fire every night in the fire pit. Fished in the creek, and actually caught some little perch. The kayaks are a great addition for weekend fun. Early morning, when the lake is smooth as glass, is the best time! The house had everything needed. It is very private where it is located. We enjoy old and quaint. This definitely fits that description! Thank you for the accommodations!

Cozy, old, cottage. Functional for our needs. Loved sitting in the enclosed porch sipping coffee in the mornings and have a fire out side at night. Would definitely return.
4.8
The property was peaceful and quiet. Minutes away from attractions.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the house. The host was timely to respond to questions and attentive to our needs. The property was well-stocked with everything we needed for a family getaway and we easily made ourselves at home.

This is a fantastic property sitting right on the river with a dock on the lake just a short walk away. Our favorite part was the outdoor spaces and the outdoor amenities (fire pit, grill, Kayaks, game room). The house itself has an updated kitchen but we did find evidence of mice on the counter. The remainder of the house is cabin like and comfortable. One bathroom was not an issue but we were not provided enough towels. There were also no extra paper towels for kitchen use. Overall, I would recommend if small improvements were made.
